Objective To measure the scope of normal meniscus by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),and create a database of meniscus size of each part.Methods The MRI image measured rake angle and back angle,body height and width of each part and the angular distance of rake and back angle of 303 meniscus of normal knee joint.Results The width and height of anterior horn,anterior exterior angle,body,angulus posteriolateralis and back angle of the medial meniscus were (5.67 ± 1.37) mm and (3.53 ± 0.86) mm,(7.24 ± 1.91) mm and (4.38 ±1.01) mm,(5.61 ± 1.73)mm and (4.25 ±1.07) mm,(11.01 ±3.53) mm and (5.41 ± 1.66)mm,(9.21 ±2.71)mm and (5.02 ± 1.39)mm,respectively.Rake and back angle of angular distance was (38.51 ± 10.88)mm.The width and height of the anterior horn,anterior exterior angle,body,angulus posteriolateralis and back angle of the lateral meniscus were (6.95 ± 1.69) mm and (3.83 ± 0.91) mm,(7.48±1.90)mmand (4.06 ± 0.97) mm,(6.51± 1.79) mm and (5.10±1.01)mm,(7.62±1.99)mm and (5.18±1.19)mm,(6.68 ± 1.41) mm and (5.64 ± 1.12) mm,respectively.The rake and back angle of angular distance was (38.51 ± 10.88) mm.Conclusion In this study,we obtained the data of meniscus for normal people by MRI,which provides reference values for diagnosis of meniscus injury and transplantation.

The clinical data of 380 patients undergoing loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP) conization for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 3(CIN3) at the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2017 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to determine the risk factors of positive margin and residual lesions following conization. One hundred and twelve cases (29.5%) had positive margins, and the risk factors for positive margins were positive high-risk human papillomavirus ( OR=4.92, 95% CI: 1.81-13.36), high-grade lesions on thin cytologic test (TCT)screening ( OR=3.95, 95% CI: 2.42-6.42), and glandular involvement ( OR=3.58, 95% CI: 1.93-6.63). The hysteretomy was performed following conization in 169 hundred and sixty-nine patients who had difficulty in follow-up or no fertility intension, among whom 51 (30.2%) had residual lesions; logistic regression analysis showed that positive margins on LEEP were a risk factor for residual lesions at the time of hysterectomy ( OR: 2.83, 95% CI: 1.44-5.59). The study indicates that positive HR-HPV, high-grade TCT lesions, and lesions involving glands are risk factors for positive margins in CIN3 patients undergoing LEEP conization; and positive margins is risk factor for residual lesions following conization,to which more attention should be paid in clinical practice.

[Objective]To investigate the changes of pore sizes,crosslinking index,swelling ration,degradation rate,cytotoxicity and biocompatibility of genipin crosslinked collagen/chitosan scaffolds affected by the different crosslinking temperature points.[Method]The freeze-dried collgaen/chitosan scaffolds crosslinked with 0.5% genipin within 24 h were divided into 3 groups by crosslinking temperature:4℃ group,20℃ group and 36℃ group.The characteristics of pore sizes,crosslinking index,swelling ratio,degradation rate,cytotoxicity and biocompatibility were evaluated.Collagen/chitosan scaffolds without crosslinking were chosen as control group.[Result]With the increase of temperature,crosslinking index was increased,but swelling ratio and degradation rate were decreased.In 4℃ group,the crosslinking index was 47.88%?6.4%,the swelling ratio was 721%?46%,and the degradation rate was decreased by 3.95%?6.4% at 4 weeks.In 20℃ group,the crosslinking index was 67.69%?3.6%,the swelling ration was 662%?72%,and the degradation rate was 0.91%?5.9% in 4 weeks.In 36℃ group,the crosslinking index was 70.32%?5.7%,the swelling ration was 635%?27%,and the degradation rate was 0.66%?7.3% at 4 weeks.The above indexes of the three groups were much better than those of control group(P

Objective Controlled hypotension induced by different drugs may have different effects on splanchnic perfusion. The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of nicardipine- induced hypotension on splanchnic perfusion. Methods Twenty-three ASA Ⅰ-Ⅱ patients (14 male, 9 female) aged 21-60 yr undergoing meningioma resection were studied. The patients were premedicated with ranitidine 150 mg per os and atropine 0.5 mg i.m. Anesthesia was induced with propofol 1.5-2.0 mg?kg-1 , fentany1 2.0?g?kg-1 and vecuronium 0.1 mg? kg-1 and maintained with isoflurane inhalation and intermittent i. v. boluses of fentanyl and vecuronium. The patients were mechanically ventilated after tracheal intubation and PETCO2 was maintained at 33-35 mm Hg. Nicardipine-induced hypotension started from opening of mininges to the resection of tumor. 0.01% nicardipine infusion was started at 30 ml?h-1 and adjusted to reduce systolic blood pressure by 30% of the baseline or MAP to≥60 mm Hg. The adequacy of splanchnic perfusion was defined by gastric intramucosal CO2 tension (PgCO2), the intramucosal pH (pHi) and the difference between intramucosal and arterial PCO2(PCO2 gap) and was assessed before induction of anesthesia, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd hour during controlled hypotension and 1, 2 hour after termination of controlled hypotension. Results The MAP was maintained at about 62 mm Hg during controlled hypotension. The heart rate was stable. Hct was significantly decreased at 1st, 2nd and 3rd hour of hypotension compared with baseline but the mean Hct was greater than 30% . The intramucosal pH decreased slightly with no statistical significance and pHa, PaCO2 , PgCO2 and PCO2 gap were almost unchanged during controlled hypotension compared with the baseline values. Conclusion Nicardipine-induced hypotension is safe when MAP is maintained at≥60 mm Hg and has no adverse effects on splanchnic perfusion.

Objective To assess the risk of malnutrition in elder home-care patients through mini nutritional assessment (MNA) and study the correlations between total MNA score and 18 individual questions in this patient group.Methods In May 2011,62 elder home-care patients from our center answered the MNA questionnaire.And the results were used to analyze the correlations between total MNA score and individual questions and the correlations among MNA classifications and body mass index(BMI),mid-arm muscle circumference (MAMC) and calf circunference (CC).Results According to MNA,18％ were malnourished ( 11/62 ),47％ at risk of malnutrition ( 29/62 ) and 35％ well-nourished ( 22/62 ) ; BMI,independence,mobility,neuropsychological problems,ingesting method,MAMC,CC and selfperceived nutritional status,self-perceived health status showed strong correlations with total MNA score (0.601,0.600,0.666,0.611,0.627,0.618,0.726,0.612,0.672,P ＜0.05).And weight loss within a month,number of daily meals and intake of drinks showed weak correlations with total MNA score (0.35,0.319,0.288,P ＜ 0.05 ).Positive correlations existed among MNA classifications and BMI,MAMC,CC (15.45,19.85,31.89,P＜0.05).Conclusions The elder home-care patients have a high risk for malnutrition.Half of 18 individual questions are strongly correlated with total MNA score in this patient group.

Objective To investigate the effect of probiotics preconditioning on intestinal mucosal barrier function in a rat model of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) . Methods Twenty-four adult male SD rats weighing 350-450 g were randomly divided into 3 groups ( n = 8 each) : group Ⅰ sham operation ( group S); group Ⅱ CPB and group Ⅲ probiotics + CPB. CPB was established between left carotid artery and right jugular vein and maintained for 60 min. Croup Ⅲ received intragastric instillation of probiotics 2 ml once a day for 7 consecutive days before CPB. Blood samples were collected at 2 h after CPB was terminated for determination of plasma D-lactate, TNF-and IL-6 concentrations and diamine oxidase (DAO) activity. Venous blood was obtained from portal vein for determination of LPS concentration and cultured. Liver, pancreas, spleen, kidney and mesenteric lymphnode (MLN) specimens were obtained under sterile condition and cultured for bacterial growth. The mucous membrane of small intestine was examined with electron microscope. Results CPB significantly increased plasma DAO activity, and D-lactate, IPS, TNF-α and IL-6 concentrations and the rate of bacteria-positive culture of portal venous blood, liver, MLN, lung and kidney in group Ⅱ as compared with group S. Probiotics preconditioning significantly attenuated the above-mentioned CPB-induced changes. Microscopic examination showed that probiotics preconditioning significantly ameliorated CPB-induced damage to the epithelium of the small intestine. Conclusion Probiotics preconditioning can significantly attenuate CPB-induced inflammatory response and protect the intestinal mucosal barrier function.

ObjectiveTo explore the effects of different nutrition methods on the number and activity of natural killer (NK) cells in liver after hepatectomy in cirrhotic rats. MethodsTwenty thioacetamide-induced cirrhotic rats were randomly divided into enteral nutrition (EN) group ( n =10) and parenteral nutrition (PN) group ( n =10), in which EN or PN was administered for 5 consecutive days 1 day after hepatectomy. The percentage of the NK cells in livers was examined by flow cytometry. Activity of NK cells was measured by 4 h51Cr-release assay.ResultsCompared with the PN group, the percentage (22.2 ％ ± 1.7％ vs. 17.4％ ± 1.8％, P =0.000) and the activity of NK cells (41.6％ ± 2.3％ vs. 37.1％ ± 2.2％, P =0.000) in the livers were significantly higher in the EN group. ConclusionEN after posthepatectomy can ameliorate the percentage and the activity of NK cells in the livers in cirrhotic rats.

Objective To investigate the genetic diversity of Plasmodium vivax transmission_blocking vaccine candidate antigen (TBV) Pvs25, with P.vivax isolates from Hubei and Zhejiang Provinces, and to compare the genetic polymorphism of Pvs25 with that from Bangladesh. MethodsThe parasite DNA used for the genetic polymorphism assay was obtained from dried filter paper blood spots. The genes were PCR amplified and the products were purified and sequenced directly. Results 45 complete new sequences were analyzed. Only 3 nucleotide changes were found that would result in amino acid substitutions in Pvs25 in comparison with the sequence from P.vivax Sal_I strain. The measurement of nucleotide diversity (?) was remarkably similar for the two populations, indicating that DNA sequences and deduced amino acid sequences were highly homologous among the geographically dispersed isolates or isolates from the same geographical region.Conclusion The results suggest that Pvs25 has limited antigenic polymorphism, especially compared with candidate antigens expressed by hepatic and erythrocytic stage, which may support the development and application of Pvs25_based transmission_blocking vaccine in China.

Objective: The effects of purple-fleshed sweet potato anthocyanin (PSA) on anti-oxidation and anti-aging were investigated. Methods: The effects of different doses of PSA(100、 500、1000 mg/kg bw)on the serum T-AOC were investigated in aged mice after administration for 3 d, 10 d and 18 d. The content of MDA, the activity of serum SOD and blood GSH-Px were measured, and compared with those in Vit E and control group after 30 d. Result: PSA significantly increased the serum T-AOC in aged mice, and this increment was higher when given longer. PSA significantly decreased MDA and enhanced SOD and GSH-Px activities. The efficiency on antioxidative capacity of aged mice at PSA 100 mg/kg bw was equivalent to that of vitamin E at the same amount (100 mg/kg bw). The antioxidation state of 13 mo mice given PSA at 1000 mg/kg bw was near to that of 4 mo mice. Conclusion: PSA has marked effect of antioxidation and can delay aging.
