Modern Clinical Nursing 2016;15(7):57-61
Objective To investigate the effect of Williams life skills training (WLST) on self-efficacy. Methods Sixty-eight newly contracted nurses during March to May 2014 in our hospital were assigned in the control group , and another sixty-eight newly-contracted nurses during March to May 2015 in our hospital in the intervention group. After the implementation of Williams life skills training, the two groups were compared in terms of transition impact and self-efficacy using the transition impact scale and general self-efficacy scale (GSES). Result After the intervention, the scores on transition impact as well as its dimensions in the intervention group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05) and the scores on self-efficacy as well as its dimensions in the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion WLST can be effective in the intervention on the newly-graduated nurses and it can effectively improve the extent of transition impact as well as their self-efficacy levels.

Modern Clinical Nursing 2015;14(10):5-8
Objective To investigate the effect of acceptance and implementation therapy on anxiety and depression in cancer patients'spouse. Methods The spouses of 50 hospitalized patients from January to June 2014 were assigned into the control group and the spouses of another 50 cases of hospitalized patients from July to December 2014 into the observation group . All the patients received routine care methods. The control group received general health education and the spouses in the observation group were managed with acceptance and implementation therapy, totally for 3 times. After the intervention, the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were used to evaluate the levels of anxiety and depressions in both groups. Results Before intervention, there were no differences in SAS and SDS scores between the groups (P>0.05). After intervention, the SAS scores in the observation group and the control group scores were (48.36 ± 6.28) and (55.11 ± 6.74), respectively, with statistically significant difference (t=7.530, P<0.05). The SDS scores of the observation group and control group were (50.03 ± 4.12) and (58.50 ± 4.63) respectively, with statistically significant differences (t=6.672, P<0.05). The SAS and SDS score of observation group were lower than those before intervention (t = 7.283,7.524, all P < 0.05). Conclusion The acceptance and implementation therapy can effectively alleviate the anxiety and depression in the spouses of those patients with cancer.

Modern Clinical Nursing 2016;15(2):13-16
Objective To study the impact of mindfulness therapy on the surgical stressors of patients undergoing elective surgery. Methods One hundred and twenty patients undergoing elective surgery were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table with 60 in each group. The control group was treated with conventional care intervention and the former with nursing intervention based on mindfulness therapy, body scanning, mindful breathing, mindfulness meditation, walking meditation, mindfulness yoga and mindfulness aspect introspection, besides the conventional one. The intervention effect was compared between the groups by way of the Chinese version perceived stress scale (CPSS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS). Result After the intervention, the scores of the observation group by CPSS, SAS and SDS were all significantly lower as compared to those of the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusion Mindfulness therapy can effectively reduce the level of perceived stress in patients undergoing elective surgery and relieve their anxiety and depression , which is conducive to the smooth operation and improvement of the operative quality.

Objective:To make a magnetic separator and verify its application effect in the removal of foreign bodies in laparoscopic surgery. Methods:From February 2015 to September 2019 in Chengdu Sanliu Third Hospital Affiliated to Southwest Medical University, 46 surgical patients to be searched for during the laparoscopic surgery, such as needle breakage, needle drop, and titanium clip shedding, were selected as the research object. The observation group used a self-made laparoscope with a magnetic separator, and the control group used traditional methods, such as: laparoscopy to flip the tissue and C-arm X-ray positioning. The time to find the foreign body left after surgery, the incidence of postoperative subcutaneous emphysema, and the satisfaction of the surgeon were compared between the two groups. Results:The time to find the foreign body left after surgery was (15.36±3.62)min in the observation group and (75.83±10.30)min in the control group, there was significant difference( t value was 29.384, P<0.01). The incidence of postoperative subcutaneous emphysema was 13.70% (3/22)in the observation group and 83.30%(20/24)in the control group, there was significant difference( χ2 value was 37.079, P<0.01). The satisfaction of the surgeon was 100.0%(22/22)in the observation group and 16.7%(4/24)in the control group, there was significant difference( χ2 value was 48.765, P<0.01). Conclusions:For patients with foreign bodies left after laparoscopic surgery, the use of magnetic separators can significantly shorten the time to find foreign bodies, reduce the incidence of postoperative subcutaneous emphysema, and increase the satisfaction of the surgeon.
