1.The significance of DNA-RNA double parameter quantitative analysis in the early diagnosis of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma
Journal of Third Military Medical University 1988;0(05):-
The relative content of DNA-RNA and the nuclear area/nucleolar area ratio of the hyperplastic tissue, glottic polypus, dysplastic tissue of grade I to I laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma were measured in 33 cases with image analysis technique. It was found that the changes of DNA-RNA content and the ratio of nuclear/nucleolar area were parallel to those of the severity of the carcinoma, and RNA was markedly increased in grade 11 and I dysplastic tissue. On the basis of the current grading of laryngeal pathology, the combined determination of DNA-RNA can provide more sensitive indicators to the stages of malignant degeneration of the laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the correlation of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) as well as serum levels of NT-proBNP, Hcy and D-Dimer (D-D) with different traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome types of chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods A total of 178 CHF patients were divided into heart function normal ejection fracture group (HF?NEF, n=86) and heart function reduction (HFREF, n=92) according to their LVEF performance. Another 35 cases with nor?mal cardiac function were included in control group. All CHF patients was also divided into 3 TCM syndrome types:both de?ficiency of Qi and Yin syndrome group(n=64),Qi asthenia causing blood stasis syndrome group(n=59) andYang defi?ciency water stop group (n=55). All patients were examined with cardiac color doppler and LVEF values were recorded. And serum NT-proBNP、Hcyand D-D levels were all quantified. Results As to serum levels of NT-proBNP, Hcy and D-D, they were higher in HFREF group than those in HFNEF group than those in control group. On the other hand, LVEF was lowest in HFREF group but highest in control group. All differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Among patient in HFNEF group, LVEF in theYang deficiency water stop groupwas lower than that inboth deficiency of Qi and Yin syn?drome group(P<0.05). Serum levels of NT-proBNP, Hcy, and D-D were not significantly different between different TCM syndrome groups. By contrast, among patients in HFREF group, LVEF values did not differ significantly between different TCM syndrome groups. Serum level of NT-proBNP was lower inboth deficiency of Qi and Yin syndrome groupthan that inQi asthenia causing blood stasis syndrome group than that in Yang deficiency water stop group. As to serum levels of Hcy and D-D, they are higher inYang deficiency water stop groupthat those inboth deficiency of Qi and Yin syndrome group and Qi asthenia causing blood stasis syndrome group(P<0.05). Conclusion Patients with different TCM syn?drome types of CHF present different levels of serum NT-proBNP, Hcy, D-D level and LVEF. Changes of indicators in HFREF groups are more obvious than they did in HFNEF group.

AIM:To explore the inhibitory action of recombinant human tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand(rhTRAIL) on mouse breast cancer. METHODS:Each mouse was inoculated 0.2 mL (1?106) D2F2 cells subcutaneously in the right lower limb and they were divided into five groups randomly. The control group was infused PBS 0.2 mL,while the low-dose,medium,high groups received purified rhTRAIL 2.5 mg/kg,5.0 mg/kg,10.0 mg/kg,respectively,the positive group was administered cyclophosphamide 30.0 mg/kg. Every group was operated by peritoneal injection once a day for fifteen days. The mice were weighed every day. The growth state was viewed and the size of the tumor was measured every 3 d to calculate the tumor volume and tumor suppression rate. All mice were killed after 15 d. The pathologic changes of the tumor were observed under light-microscopy and electronic microscopy. The cell cycle and apoptosis index of D2F2 cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. RESULTS:The body weight and tumor volume in low-dose,medium,high groups were lower than those in control group and the restriction effect was more significant than that in the control group (P

Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(06):-
Porcine transfer factor(TF-P) was prepared from porcine spleen by means of hom-ogenization and vaccum dialysis. Fractionized by Sephadex G-10 gel chromatography,TF-P could be separated into seven fractions but five fractions were obtained from human transfer factor(TF-h) .These fractions of TF-P and TF-h and different dilutionsof TF-P were tested for biological activity in vitro. By the use of ~3H-TdR uptake assay we found that, both of whole TF-P and TF-hpossessed suppresivs activity to PHA-induced human periperal blood lymphocyte tran-sformation. Whereas, Fraction Ⅲ of TF-P and Fraction Ⅲ and Ⅳ of TF-h containedcomponents responsible for augmentation of PHA-induced responses. When TF-P was diluted 10~(-2) to 10~(-5) and cultured with normal human peripheralblood lymphocytes, we found that the original suppression effects of whole TF-P toPHA-induced lymphocyte transformation were converted to normal. The optimum dil-ution of TF-P was 10~(-3), which were shown to augment responses. It shoud be notedthat the responsiveness of normal human lymphocytes to TF-P was dose dependent.
