Objective To observe the method of mechanical ventilation in the chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),and to explore the influence of the flow pattern selection of square-wave and decelerating-wave on airway pressure of patients. Methods A prospective self-pairing study was conducted. Forty patients undergoing CPR admitted to Department of Emergency of Lishui City Central Hospital from January 2011 to February 2013 were enrolled. Using Respironics Eisprit ventilator, the working mode and parameters of ventilator were set reasonably according to previous research, while the chest compressions was performed in a stable state by the same doctor,. Each patient received different flow, waves, including square-wave and decelerating-wave,and the highest peak airway pressure was recorded as a pair of data when the time-pressure and time-flow waveform were frozen. Two pairs of data by different doctors were collected in each patient. Eighty pairs of data from 40 patients were collected for statistical analysis by paired t test. Results The highest peak airway pressure of decelerating-wave was (38.15± 5.99)cmH2O (1 cmH2O=0.098 kPa),which was (5.71±1.98)cmH2O lower than that of square wave 〔(43.86± 6.68)cmH2O〕with significantly statistical difference(t=22.010,P=0.000). 73.75%patients undergoing square wave with peak airway pressure over 40 cmH2O were found, but only 45.00% patients were found in decelerating-wave. Conclusion Because decelerating-wave used in mechanical ventilation during CPR can obviously reduce the peak airway pressure, the occurrence of barotrauma, and the probability of triggering high pressure ventilator alarm, and improve the compliance of ventilator,so decelerating-wave is more reasonable than square-wave.

Objective To optimize the oral contrast media in three-dimensional display of gastric lesions. Methods 41 cases were randomly divided into 3 groups according to different oral contrast media administered: No. 1 air contrast group (n=17), No. 2 fat emulsion group (n=7) and No. 3 positive contrast group (n=25). The 3D CT images were reconstructed using MPR, SSD, RaySum display and virtual endoscopic techniques, and compared with gastric endoscopy and/or conventional barium study. Results The detectability of gastric lesions using fat emulsion and air contrast was 42.8%(3/7) and 80.0%(20/25), respectively, both were significantly lower than that using positive contrast (100%, 30/30) (χ2=19.22,P<0.01;χ2=6.60, P<0.05). The capability of showing the details of stomach lesions was significantly affected by the oral contrast media administered(χ2=17.04,P<0.01). Conclusion It is very important to choose the appropriate oral contrast media for 3D display of gastric lesions in spiral CT, the positive contrast agent is the optimal choice.

BACKGROUND: It has been proved that electromagnetic field can adjust and control proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells v/a cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP)-protein kinase A (PKA) signal transduction system. However, there are few relevant reports about Ca2+ as the second messenger in application. OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of verapamil on the proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow rnesenchymal stem cells stimulated by electromagnetic fields and to conclude influx changes of Ca2+.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: Electrostimulative cytological observation in vitro, which was performed in Laboratory of Orthopedic Surgery, Tongji Hospital between April and June 2005.MATERIALS: Six 4-5-week SD rats of clean grade were selected in this study. Verapami| was provided by Sigma Company, USA, and Helmholtz coil-magnetic field producer was made in Department of Electric Machine, Navy Engineering University.METHODS: The bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were isolated and cultured in vitro with adherence method and digested with trypsin. The fourth-passage cells were harvested, adjusted to 1 × 107 L-1 in density, and divided into A, B, C and D groups in 96-well plate with 200 μ I/well. Cells in the normal control group were not performed with any agent. On the second day of inoculation, cells in the magnetic field (EMF) group were cultured in Helmholtz-coil magnetic field (0.8 mT, 50 Hz) in 0.05% CO2 saturated humidity incubator at 37 ℃, 30 minutes for each, 12 hours for interval, six time in total. Cells in the verapamil group were cultured with 20 μ mol/L verapamil, and cells in the combination group were cultured with 20 μ mol/L verapamil and magnetic stimulation.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Proliferative activity was tested with MTT method, content of alkaline phosphate differentiated to osteoblasts was measured, and cells were stained with modified Gomori Ca-Co staining. RESULTS: Proliferative activity was significantly increased in the EMF group as compared with that in the normal control group after 3-day magnetic stimulation (P < 0.01), but verapamil could inhibit promotive effect on proliferation. Content of alkaline phosphate in the normal control group was similar to that in the EMF group, while those two contents were significantly higher than those in the verapamil group and the combination group (P < 0.01); furthermore, content of alkaline phosphate in the combination group was significant higher than that in the EMF group (P < 0.01). Qualitative analysis of alkaline phosphate showed a coincident result as mentioned above.CONCLUSION: EMF of 50 Hz frequency and 0.8 mT intensity can change intracellular free calcium ion concentration of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, and the change play a key role in the cellular proliferation and play a partial role in the differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells into osteoblasta.

Microbiology 2001;(1):58-63
Twenty-six strains of Aeromonas hydrophila isolated in cultured fish and soft-shelled turtles were collected from various areas of China. Their susceptibilities to 21 antibacterial agents were studied by disc diffusion method. It was showed that all strains tcsted were resistant to pcnieillin and cephalosporins. Most of the strains were sensitive to norfloxacin, chloramphenicol and furazolidone, but up to 73.1%, 70. 1% and 50. 0% of strains tested showed resistance to sulfonamides, aminogylcosides and tetracyclines respectively. Meanwhile, their susceptibilities were examined by micro-dilution procedure against 8 commonly used antibacterials including ampicillin, furazolidone, teltracycline, oxytetracyeline ,steptomycin, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides and ciprofloxacin. Only two of 26 strains of A. hydrophila were sensitive to all drugs tested except ampicillin. The remaining 24 strains were resistant to various combinations of 8 drugs. Majority of the strains carried a marker of resistance to 2~3 drugs and highly sensitive to ciprofloxacin and chloramphenicol. The results indicated that A. hydrophila was highly resistant to most of common antibioties in China and more new antibacterials should be introduced into aquaculture to control ever-increasing fish diseases. The criterion for drug resistant bacteria was also discussed in this paper.
