1.Research progress in relationship between vitamin D and inflammatory bowel disease
Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2016;24(4):251-256
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a group of chronic inflammatory diseases of the intestine mediated by abnormal immunological mechanism caused by multiple etiological factors. The main treatment at present is anti-inflammation and immunosuppression, but with severe side effects and poor efficacy.Vitamin D3 has immunoregulatory,anti-inflammatory,and antineoplastic functions.Vitamin D,as a novel immunoregulator, may provide a new treatment option for patients with IBD.This article will review the research progress on the following four aspects:the relationship of vitamin D with innate immunity, adaptive immunity, and pathogenesis of IBD,and vitamin D supplement in IBD patients.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2015;35(7):734-740
Objective To compare the medium-term clinical effects of oblique T-shaped volar locking compression plate (LCP) and external fixation (EF) treating type C distal radial fractures. Methods Data of 60 patients with type C distal radial fractures who underwent surgery in our hospital from May 2010 to November 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.36 patients received open reduction with LCP fixation (LCP group),among which there were 21 males and 15 females, and there were 20 left wrists and 16 right wrists with an average age of 45.94±16.29 years old (range,17-80 years old).24 patients received close reduction and external fixation (EF group),among which there were 16 males and 8 females, and there were 15 left wrists and 9 right wrists with an average age of 43.63±14.55 years old (range,16-79 years old). The clinical results of wrist joint were assessed by range of wrist activity,VAS,Gartland-Werley wrist score, postoperative radial tilt angle, radial inclination angle and radial height. Results All the 60 patients were followed up successfully. The LCP group was followed up for 24 to 55 (42.03 ± 8.62) months. The EF group was followed up for 24 to 54 (37.24±9.77) months. In the LCP group, the average VAS score was 1.28±0.78,Gartland-Werley score 2.28±0.78,wrist flexion angle 50.89°±5.53° and wrist dorsiflexion angle 50.69°±5.38°.In the EF group, the average VAS score was 1.38±0.71,Gartland-Werley score 2.92± 1.69,wrist flexion angle 50.96°±5.01° and wrist dorsiflexion angle 51.08°± 5.73°.No statistically differences were found in wrist joint function between two groups. In LCP group, radiological evaluation 2 years after operation showed that the average radial tilt angle was 10.69°±2.29,radial inclination angle 22.53°± 1.95° and radial height 10.63±1.14 mm.In the EF group, radial tilt angle was 6.63°±2.76°,radial inclination angle 16.96°±4.41° and radial height 9.06±0.98 mm.Significant differences were found in radial tilt angle, radial inclination angle and radial height. No statistically differences were found in postoperative complication rates. Conclusion Locking compression plate (LCP) fixation and external fixation (EF) can obtain similar satisfactory medium-term clinical outcome in treating type C distal radial fractures.Comparison with EF,LCP can achieve anatomic reduction under direct vision, and its radiological assessments including radial tilt angle, radial inclination angle and radial height were significantly better than external fixation.
3.The Governance of Ethical Issues in Stem Cell Research
Chinese Medical Ethics 1996;0(01):-
The stem cell technology has a broad prospect for human health, but it would also give rise to ethical issues which cannot be ignored. To deal with these issues,we ought to adopt new approaches. The traditional vertical government approaches ought to be replaced with horizontal governance.Based on the new governance approaches, this paper proposes four suggestions for relieving the ethical impacts imposed by stem cell technology. These suggestions will be helpful for developing healthy stem cell technology.

Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2010;09(6):434-437
Objective To detect the expression of selenium binding protein 1 ( SBP1 ) in gastric cancer cell line SGC7901, BGC823, normal gastric epithelial cell line GES-1, gastric cancer tissues and normal gastric tissues, explore the relationship between SBP1 and pathologic features, and discuss the feasibility of SBP1 as an diagnostic marker of gastric cancer. Methods The clinical data of 135 patients with gastric cancer who were admitted to Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from 2006 to 2007 were retrospectively analyzed. The expression of SBP1 in the gastric cancer tissues and 16 cases of normal gastric tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. The mRNA and protein expressions of SBP1 of SGC7901, BGC823 and GES-1 were determined by Western blot and RT-PCR. All data were analyzed by using chi-square test and one-way analysis of variance. Results The mRNA expressions of SBP1 in BGC823 and SGC7091 were 0. 120 ± 0. 020 and 0. 133 ± 0. 015,respectively, which were significantly lower than 0. 907 ± 0. 015 in GES-1 ( F = 2106. 462, P < 0.05 ). The protein expression of SBP1 in BGC823 and SGC7901 were 0.253 ±0.015 and 0.273 ±0.015 ,respectively, which were significantly lower than 0.877 ±0.025 in GES-1 ( F = 1026. 758, P <0.05 ). A strong positive reaction of SBP1 was observed in 3 cases of gastric cancer tissues and 16 cases of normal gastric tissues. The decrease of the protein expression of SBP1 was correlated with clinical stages of the patients ( x2 = 12. 629, P < 0.05 ), rather than the sexes, ages, tumor histological types, tumor differentiation, infiltration depths and lymph node metastasis (x2 =2. 142, 0.860, 1.838, 5.001,4.858, 1.994, P>0. 05). Conclusions The decrease of SBP1 expression could be used as a marker in diagnosing gastric cancer. Down-regulation of SBP1 expression may play an important role in the genesis and prognosis of gastric cancer.

Objective To study the feasibility and efficacy of endovascular thoracic aortic repair supported by preliminary arterial bypass. Methods From June 2003 to Jan. 2005, eight patients underwent endovascular repair (EVR) combined with supportive arterial reconstruction in the thoracic aorta. Five patients had Debakey type Ⅲ aortic dissection aneurysm (ADA), and the remaining 3 had descending thoracic aortic aneurysm (DTAA), aortic arch aneurysm and aortic arch pseudoaneurysm respectively. The proximal landing zone was measured less than 15 mm in all instances by contrast-enhanced CT scan and digital subtraction angiography. The preliminary right-left axillary bypass was performed in an ADA case in whom the distance from the primary entry site to the origin of the left common carotid artery was longer than 15mm,and the right- left carotid and left carotid-subclavian bypass in the remaining 7 cases. EVR was conducted 1 week after the bypass. Results All procedures were performed successfully. However, the DTAA patient died of the hemispheric cerebral infarction and subsequent multiple system organ failure, albeit the uneventful recovery from the prior cervical reconstruction. Type Ⅱ endoleak occurred at the completion of EVR in the patient receiving the axillary bypass, but disappeared on 3-month CT. No neurological deficits or limb ischemia developed perioperatively or during the follow-up raging from 3 to 22 months, and complete thrombosis of the thoracic aortic false lumen or of the aneurysm/pseudoaneurysm was revealed on CT at 3 months in the 7 patients. Conclusion The adjunctive surgical bypass appeared to be feasible and effective in creating extra proximal landing zone for endovascular thoracic aortic repair, and thus broaden its application.
