Purpose:To estimate the curative effects and side effects obtained from high-dose epirubicin (EPI) combination therapy in the treatment of advanced chest malignant tumors. Methods:Forty-eight cases with advanced chest malignant tumor(32 cases with non-small-cell lung cancer; eleven cases with breast cancer and five cases with mediastinal malignant lymphomas) were treated with the combination therapy of high-dose EPI. Results:The response rate in non-small-cell lung cancer was 56.3%, in breast cancer was 72.7%, in mediastinal malignant lymphomas was 100%. The most frequent toxicities were neutropenia. Conclusions:The combined chemotherapy of high-does EPI is an effective and safe treatment in advanced chest malignant tumor.

Objective To explore the typing, precaution and treatment of the bone cement leakage caused by percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP).Methods PVP was performed in 38 cases(11 men and 27 women) with vertebral angioma and vertebral body compression fracture with osteoporosis chosen from November 2002.Results All the patients were followed up for 8 to 16 months and the effects were evaluated by the standards carried out by World Health Organization(WHO).The rate of complete response(CR) plus partial response(PR) was 100 percent. The patients with bone cement leakage by PVP were divided into 3 groups which underwent different remedial methods respectively. Conclusion The bone cement leakage could be prevented through the preoperative preparation, choosing the anaesthesia and scouting the whole operation. The patients with TypeⅠ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ_a needn't treatment, but those with type Ⅲ_b must accept open-operation.Vertebral eggshell technology with open vertebroplasty was effective on the treatment of the bone cement leakage with type Ⅲ_b caused by PVP.

Objective To provide reference on the difference in blood glucose metabolism between different mouse strains by comparing blood glucose changes under food and /or water deprivation. Methods C57BL/6J mice, BALB/c mice, and ICR mice used in this study were divided into four groups:control group, food deprivation group, water depriva-tion group and food &water deprivation group .Their blood glucose was measured within 12 hours under various stresses . Results and Conclusion There are different blood glucose regulation patterns in different mice strains .The blood glucose level of C57BL/6J mice is usually higher than that of the BALB/c and ICR mice, while the of blood glucose level BALB/c mice stays relatively stable , and the ICR mice have the widest range of blood glucose levels upon these stresses .Accord-ing to our data, the difference in blood glucose metabolism between different mouse strains should be taken into considera -tion in blood glucose related studies for proper interpretation and design of experiments .

Objective To provide reference for clinical application of combined antoxidants , by evaluating the com-bined and individual antioxidant activities of three commonly used antioxidants :edaravone, glutathion(GSH) and vitamin C ( VC) .Methods The multiple and individual antioxidant activities of the three antioxidants were compared by determining total antioxidant activity assay , reductive activity assay , superoxide anion scavenging assay and hydroxyl radical scavenging assay. Results and Conclusion Results showed that the combined antioxidants acted synergistically in scavenging free radicals and increased remarkably antioxidant activity at the same molar concentration .The rationality of different antioxi-dant combination should be taken into consideration in subsequent clinical application .

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;35(9):825-828
Objective:
To optimize the determination of pentachlorophenol in wooden chopping boards through pretreatment of miniaturized samples.
Methods:
The pretreated wooden chopping board samples were subjected to ultrasound extraction (1 mL of 0.5 mol/L K2CO3 added in 5 mL extraction solution) in 8 mL acetone and 2 mL water, followed by derivatization with 0.3 mL acetic anhydride, extraction with n-hexane and separation with DB-5ms column (30 m×0.25 mm, 0.25 μm). Gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) was performed in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode with quantitative analysis using the internal standard method.
Results:
The GC-MS/MS assay showed a good linear relationship within the range of 0.01 to 0.2 µg/mL (R2>0.999), with a 0.003 mg/kg limit of detection and 0.01 mg/kg limit of quantitation. The mean recovery rates were 84.2% to 96.7% at spiked concentrations of 0.003, 0.01 and 0.03 mg/kg, with relative standard deviation of 2.2% to 6.1%.
Conclusions
The established GC-MS/MS assay is easy to perform, environment-friendly, highly accurate and sensitivity, which is feasible for determination of pentachlorophenol in wooden chopping boards.

Objective To investigate the risk factors for intracranial infection after external ventricular drainage and provide basis for preventing and controlling the drainage-associated intracranial infection. Metheds the clinical data from three hundred sixty-seven cases of ventricular hemorrhage patients were retrospectively analyzed, using Logis?tic regression to screen risk factors of intracranial infection after external ventricular drainage. Results There were 29 cases with intracranial infection and infection rate was 8.19%, 8.04% and 7.32% at ventricle drainage tube indwelling 1-week group, 2-week group and 3 week-group, respectively. Glasgow coma score (GCS) [OR= 2. 569 CI (1.792 3.378) %, P< 0.05), urokinase perfusion (OR= 2.897, 95%CI (1.297 5.061), P< 0.05), cerebrospinal fluid sampling (OR= 3.399, 95%CI (2.705 4.175), P< 0.01] and comorbidities [OR= 3.751, 95%CI (2.032 5.371), P< 0.01] were risk factors for ventricle drainage operation. Conclusion Ventricle drainage tube indwelling 3 weeks is safe. Less use of urokinase perfusion and cerebrospinal fluid sampling and active treatment of comorbidities diseases can reduce the intra?cranial infection incidence of external ventricular drainage after Intraventricular hemorrhage .

Objective:To invest the risk factors associated with delayed hemorrhage after pancreaticoduodenectomy occurred. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed from January 2012 to June 2015 Shengjing hospital 511 cases of patients who accepted pancreaticoduodenectomy. Results:The incidence of PD postoperative delayed hemorrhage was 8.81% (45/511).Univariate analysis shows:Preoperative bilirubin levels, pancreatic fistula, biliary fistula, postoperative abdominal infection are all the meaningful related factors(P<0.05).With the application of multivariate logistic regression analysis, pancreatic fistula (OR=2.158) and abdominal infection (OR=3.051) were independent risk factors for postoperative delayed hemorrhages (P<0.05).Conclusion:Dealing with the postoperative complications of PD like pancreatic fistula, abdominal infection and others, early detection and rapid diagnosis and correct treatment can effectively reduce the incidence of delayed hemorrhage.
