Objective:To investigate the expressions of Th 1-Th2-Th17 cytokines in the coxsackievirus B 3-induced mice chronic viral myocarditis(VMC).Methods:BALB/c mice were intraperitoneally(i.p) infected with increased CVB3 for establishing chronic VMC models.Control mice were treated with phosphate-buffered saline(PBS)i.p.Cardiac tissues were obtained 8 weeks after CVB3 in-jection,myocardial histopathologic changes were observed by HE and Masson staining .Th1-Th2-Th17 cytokines in plasma were detected by protein array technology , and their cardiac mRNA expressions were measured by RT-PCR.Results: Compared with the control group,levels of IL-2,IL-5,IL-10,IL-13,IL-17,IL-6,IL-22,IL-21 and TGF-βobviously increased in chronic VMC group (P all<0.05). Conclusion:The imbalance of Th1-Th2-Th17 cytokines may play an important roles in the pathogenesis of chronic VMC .

BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that there are large differences in the thickness of the soft tissue overlying hard tissue, and the soft tissue does not uniformly overly the hard tissue, indicating simple hard tissue measurement wil not harvest ideal facial profile in clinical treatment of malocclusions. OBJECTIVE: To study the craniofacial soft and hard tissue characteristics in the adult Angle class II malocclusion, and then to analyze the relationship between Angle class II1 and class II2 malocclusions. METHODS: Sixty patients with adult Angle II malocclusion who were accepted by the Department of Orthodontics of Stomatological Hospital Affiliated to Jiamusi University from 2011 to 2014, on gender parity, aged 18-38 years (mean age of 26.3 years), including 30 cases of Angle class II1 and 30 cases of Angle class II2. Differences between the adult Angle class II1 and class II2 malocclusion patients were compared by cephalometric analysis based on X-ray measurement. Statistical correlation analysis was performed.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Comparisons of hard tissue measurement of adult Angle class II1 and Angle class II2 malocclusions showed that: SNB, SND, ANB, FH-NP, U1-SN (P < 0.001), LI-NB (P< 0.01), L1-MP (P < 0.01), U1-L1 (P < 0.001) exhibited statisticaly significant differences between two groups (P < 0.05). (2) Comparisons of soft tissue measurement of adult Angle class II1 and Angle class II2 malocclusions showed that: there were significant differences in the ULA'-FH, LLNs-FH, ULNs-FH, CmSnUL, E-LL (P < 0.05). (3) There was a correlation between the soft and hard tissue of adult Angle class II1 and Angle class II2 malocclusions in al measurement indexes, but the correlativity exists differently. These findings indicate that for Angle class II1malocclusion, the maxilary and anterior teeth protrusions have a certain influence on the position of the lower lip; for Angle class II2 malocclusion, only maxilary protrusion can impact the position of the soft tissue of the lower lip. Chin soft tissue has no major changes in Angle class II2 malocclusion, but it varies greatly in Angle class II1 malocclusion. Clinical treatment of adult Angle class II malocclusions is developed based on the craniofacial soft and hard tissue characteristics in orthodontic and orthognathic surgeries.

Objective To study the clinical effect of posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) using expandable cage in treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis.Methods Twenty patients who underwent PLIF using expandable cage for lumbar spondylolisthesis were retrospectively analyzed.The operative time and transoperative bleeding were recorded.Postoperative regularity follow-up X-ray and CT,the olisthy rate,intervertebral height index and intervertebral fusion were observed.The lumbar function improvement was assessed by Oswestry disability index (ODI).Results All the patients were successfully operated,the operative time was 100-160 (123.3 ± 16.4) min,transoperative bleeding was 350-600 (464.0 ± 78.7) ml.The follow-up time was 12-36 (24.3 ± 7.3) months,symptoms were significantly improved.During the follow-up duration,20 patients obtained bony fusion.According to the reforming Macnab grade standard,excellent was in 14 cases,good was in 4 cases,acceptable was in 2 cases,the rate of excellent and good was 90.0％(18/20).The ODI score and olisthy rate postoperative 6 months and last follow-up were significantly lower than preoperative,and ODI score last follow-up was significantly lower than that postoperative 6 months,there were statistical differences (P ＜ 0.05).The intervertebral height index postoperative 6 months and last follow-up were significantly higher than that preoperative,there were statistical differences (P ＜0.05).There was no statistical difference in olisthy reset rate between postoperative 6 months and last followup (P ＞0.05).The last followed-up,There were no expandable cage subsidence or displacement,intervertebral space collapse and intervertebral height loss.Conclusions As a new production,expandable cage is an effective tool on treating lumbar spondylolisthesis,it can effectively restore the intervertebral height and the biological mechanical properties of the lumbar vertebrae.This study indicates that expandable cage is an effective and safe products for lumbar interbody fusion,which maintained a lower complication rate and better results.

Objective:To observe the expressions of Th1/Th2/Th1 7 cytokines and antimyocardial antibodies in mouse dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM),and explore their roles and significance in DCM pathogenesis.Methods:BALB/c mouse model of DCM was built with coxsackievirus(CVB3).Mice in control group were treated with phosphate-buffered saline (PBS)i.p. Mice were killed at the 24th week,and the fibrosis degree of myocardial tissue was observed by myocardial Masson’s staining. Expressions of Th1/Th2/Th1 7 cytokines in plasma were detected by using protein microarray.The mouse plasma levels of an-timyocardial antibodies such as adenine nucleotide translocator(ANT)antibody,β-myosin heavy chain(β-MHC)antibody,car-diac L-type calcium channel(CACH2),and anti-β1-adrenergic receptor(β1 AR)were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results:The result of myocardial pathological examination in DCM group fit the features of DCM 24 weeks af-ter virus infection.Compared with those in control group,expression levels of interleukin(IL)-2,IL-10,IL-13,IL-28 and TNF-αin DCM group decreased(P <0.05),however,the expression levels of IL-6,IL-1 7,IL-21 ,IL-22,IL-23 and TGF-βin-creased significantly(P <0.05).Meanwhile,compared with those in control group,the plasma levels of ANT andβ-MHC anti-bodies in DCM group increased significantly (P <0.05).Furthermore,positive correlation was found between level of IL-22 and level of anti-ANT according to correlative analysis(P <0.05 ).Conclusions:Immunologic derangement induced by imbal-ance of antimyocardial antibodies such as ANT and β-MHC,and Th1/Th2/Th1 7 cytokines such as IL-2、IL-10、IL-13、IL-28、TNF-α、IL-6、IL-1 7、IL-21 、IL-22、IL-23 and TGF-βmay play important roles in the pathogenesis of DCM.Furthermore,IL-22 may boost the production of ANT antibody.

Objective To explore the mechanism underlying the poor prognosis in cerebral infarction (CI) patients with low T3 syndrome by comparing the NIHSS scores in these patients with or without low T3 syndrome.Methods One hundred and sixty-two patients with CI,admitted to our hospital from January 2010 to December 2012,were chosen in our study; the levels of thyroid hormones,including triiodothyronine (T3),four iodine thyronine (T4),thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH),free Triiodothyronine (iT3) and free four iodine thyronine (fT4),were measured by radioimmunoassay.CI lesions and TOAST distribution were determined by cranial MRI,magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) or CT angiography (CTA),and carotid ultrasonography.NIHSS scores at the worst in cerebral infarction inpatients were detected.Results In the 162 patients with CI,29 patients (17.90％) were combined with low T3 symptom and 20 had fT3 level lower than the lowest normal level (2.63 pmol/L); and T4,fT4 and TSH levels were within normal limits.T3,fr3 and TSH levels in patients with low T3 symptom were significantly lower than those of patients without low T3 symptom (P＜0.05).The distribution of TOAST showed no significant difference between patients with low T3 symptom and patients without low T3 symptom (P＞0.05).In patients with large artery atherosclerosis-internal carotid artery,the NIHSS scores at the worst in patients with low T3 level were significantly higher as compared with those in patients with normal T3 levels (P＜0.05).Conclusion The neurologic impairment is more severe in large artery atherosclerosis-intemal carotid artery patients with low T3 level than those without low T3 level,which might be responsible for the poor prognosis of the illness with low T3 syndrome.

Objective Interleukin-27 (IL-27) has been reported to reduce the levels of interleukin17(IL-17) and alleviate the severity of experimental autoimmune myocarditis.IL-17,an important tissueprotective cytokine in viral myocarditis (VMC),has been reported to increase synovial expression of IL-27 in rheumatoid arthritis.However,the influence of IL-17 on IL-27 expression in murine model of VMC remains unknown.Methods Wild-type (WT) and IL-17A-deficient (IL-17A-/-) mice on the BALB/c background were intraperitoneally (i.p) injected with coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) for establishing VMC models.Cardiac tissue was obtained on day 7 after CVB3 injection.Myocardial histopathologic changes were observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) stained myocardial sections.Expression of IL-27 in heart and serum was measured by real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA),respectively.Furthermore,splenic lymphocytes and peritoneal macrophages were purified 1 week after injection from WT mice.Isolated lymphocytes were cultured in the presence of different concentrations (0 and 25 ng/ml) of recombinant IL-17 (rIL-17) for 24 h.Macrophages were cultured with different concentrations of rIL-17 (0 and 10 ng/ml) for 48 h.IL-27 mRNA expression of cultured cells was assayed by RT-PCR,and their protein level in the culture supernatant was measured by ELISA.Results Compared with WT mice,significantly less cardiac inflammation was evidenced in the heart of IL-17A-/-mice (0.9 ± 0.3 vs.1.9 ± 0.5),relative cardiac IL-27 p28 mRNA expressions (1.11 ± 0.24 vs.3.1 ± 0.8) and serum IL-27 protein [(72 ± 18) pg/ml vs.(95 ± 25) pg/ml] were also significantly lower in IL-17A-/-mice (all P ＜ 0.05).In the culture lymphocytes,the relative mRNA (1.02 ± 0.13 vs.1.32 ± 0.21) and protein [(49 ± 9) pg/ml vs.(52 ± 11) pg/ml] expressions of IL-27 p28 and were similar post treatment with 0 and 25 ng/ml rIL-17 (all P ＞0.05).Compared with 0 ng/ml rIL-17 culture with macrophages,higher relative mRNA (8.5 ±3.1 vs.2.2 ±0.7) and protein [(368 ±95) pg/ml vs.(150 ± 38) pg/ml] expressions of IL-27 p28 were detected in 10 ng/ml rIL-17 group (all P ＜0.05).Conclusion Our data indicates that cytokine IL-17 may contribute to the secretion of IL-27 in VMC mice.Furthermore,macrophages but not lymphocytes may be the important IL-27-producing immune cells and major target cells for IL-17.Thus,IL-27 and IL-17 might be actively involved in the pathogenesis of VMC.
