Objective To observe the clinical effects of the homemade medicated and dietary compound granules in treating sub-health insomnia with deficient cultivation of heart-spirit. Methods Sixty qualified patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was given homemade medicated and dietary compound granules(mainly composed of Semen Ziziphi Spinosae, Radix Codonopsis, Sclerotiium Poriae Circum Radicem Pini, Radix Polygalae, Flos Rosae Rugosae, Plumula Nelumbinis, Fructus Ziziphi Jugubae, and Arillus Longan). The control group was given Oryzanol powder. The course of treatment lasted for half a month. Before and after treatment, the scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom rating scale were observed, and the clinical efficacy of the two groups were also evaluated. Results After treatment for half a month and after suspension of medicine for half a month , (1) the total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05);(2) the total PSQI scores , sleep quality scores , falling asleep time scores , and daytime function disorder scores were decreased in the treatment group (P < 0.01 compared with those before treatment) , but the scores of each PSQI item in the control group stayed unchanged (P > 0.05). The total PSQI scores , sleep quality scores , falling asleep time scores, and daytime function disorder scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.01);(3) the total scores of TCM symptoms as well as the scores of dreaminess and susceptibility to awakening, palpitation and amnesia, lassitude and weakness, poor appetite, pale complexion, vertigo and dizziness, abdominal distension and loose stools were declined in the treatment group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01 compared with those before treatment). Conclusion Medicated and dietary compound granules are effective on improving sleep quality, shortening time to fall asleep, improving sleep disorder, increasing the efficiency of daytime function, improving patients’ mental state entirely, and maintaining the short-term curative effect.

Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2017;41(8):688-691
[Objective]To explore and analyze Professor GUO Weifeng's clinical experience in treating posterior circulation ischemic vertigo. [Methods] By learning with the teacher, collection of relevant information and medical records ,to expound Professor GUO Weifeng 's academic thoughts and clinical experience in posterior circulation ischemic vertigo, from aspects of etiology, pathogenesis, and syndrome differentiation and treatment variation, prescription medication, summarizing the characteristics of his prescriptions and ways of treatment as well as exemplifying them. [Results] Professor GUO Weifeng through many years of clinical practice proposes that the basic pathogenesis of this disease is liver with kidney deficiency and hyperactivity of liver-yang. Because of its more associated with obesity and high blood pressure, high blood lipids, diabetes, always mingle phlegm and stasis. The main treatment method is to nourish the Yin of liver-kidney, pacify liver and extinguish wind. Then, transform phlegm and disperse blood stasis. If pathogenic into collateral for a long time,we need using insect drug for treatment. Clinical treatment should be based on positive and evil of the partial ups and downs, the disease of both, flexible adjustment of medication, it is not limited by present method. [Conclusion] Professor GUO Weifeng 's clinical experience in treating posterior circulation ischemic vertigo is effective and worthy of wide application.

Objective To observe the effect of Kouchuangping oral liquid (KCP), which can clear away stomach-heat, purge fire, nourish yin, on golden yellow hamster aphtha that induced by PQ. Methods Inject PQ which can cause membrana mucosa ulceration in golden yellow hamster’s cheek pouch, observe the pathomorphological process of ulcerative lesion and antioxidation of three different KCP dosage teams. Result The KCP has the function of anti-inflammation and anti-exudation on ulcerative lesion, which can relieve epithelium necrosis and promote the recovery of ulceration. It also can increase the vigor of SOD in serum and degrade the content of MDA. Conclusion KCP has the functions of antioxidation and eliminate oxydic and metabolic products.

ObjectiveTo compare the accelerating effect of topical recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) and recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor (rb-bFGF) on wound healing after fractional CO2 laser therapy.MethodsTwenty male guinea pigs were included in this study. After hair removal and irradiation with fractional CO2 laser, the back of each guinea pig was divided into 4 regions to be topically treated with rhEGF of 10 μg/cm2 (rhEGF group),rb-bFGF of 262.51 IU/cm2 (rb-bFGF group),the combination of rhEGF and rb-bFGF (combination group),or normal saline (control group),twice daily until the healing of wound.Skin physiology parameters including elasticity index and melanin index were detected before the irradiation,7,14 and 28 days after the irradiation, and compared between the 4 groups by analysis of variance.Tissue specimens were obtained from 4 mice at the above time points and subjected to pathological examination for the observation of collagen fibers and quantification of fibroblasts.ResultsAfter fractional CO2 laser therapy, the crusts fall off completely in growth factor-treated regions, while partly in the control regions, within 3 to 7 days; the wounds healed completely in 14 to 28 days in all the groups, with the regenerating tissue being more tender and redder compared with the surrounding unirradiated tissue. The wound surface was smaller in area and redder in color in the 3 growth factor-treated groups than in the control group. At 28 days after the irradiation, the elasticity index was 262.29 ± 62.40 in the combination group,202.00 ± 65.62 in the rhEGF group,188.86 ± 35.02 in the rb-bFGF group,167.14 ± 42.49 in the control group.Statistical difference was observed in elasticity index, but not in skin melanin index among the 4 groups.Pathological examination showed a dense and organized arrangement of collagen fibers in the combination group but a sparse and disorganized arrangement of collagen fibers in the control group.ConclusionThe combined application of rhEGF and rbbFGF can accelerate the healing of wound and increase the elasticity of regenerating tissue after fractional CO2 laser therapy.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2009;29(6):732-6
The effects of high-intensity pulsed electromagnetic stimulation (HIPEMS) on proliferation and differentiation of neonatal rat neural stem cells in vitro were investigated. Neural stem cells derived from neonatal rats were exposed to 0.1 Hz, 0.5-10 Tesla (T) [8 groups of B-I, respectively], 5 stimuli of HIPEMF. The sham exposure controls were correspondingly established. Inverted phase contrast microscope was used to observe the cultured cells, MTT assay to detect the viability of the cells as expressed by absorbance (A) value, and flow cytometry to measure differentiation of neural stem cells. The results showed that A values of neural stem cells in both 3.0 T and 4.0 T groups were significantly higher than the other groups 24 to 168 h post HPEMS, indicating a strong promotion of the growth of neural stem cells (P<0.05). The A values of neural stem cells in the 6.0 T, 8.0 T, and 10.0 T groups were lower than the sham exposure control group, indicating a restraint of the growth of neural stem cells. The rate of neuron-specific enolase-positive neurons revealed by flow cytometry in HPEMS groups was the same as that in control group (P>0.05). It was suggested that 0.1 Hz, 5 pulses stimulation of HPEMS within certain scale of intensity (0.5-10.0 T), significantly promoted the growth of neural stem cells with the rational intensity being 4.0 T.
