Objective To evaluate the feasibi1ity and efficacy of transcatheter closure of perimembranous and muscular ventricular septal defects (VSD) using the new Amplatzer membranous and muscular VSD occluder and observe the effect of membranous VSD occluding procedure on atrioventricular(AV) conductive system.Methods Twelve patients (7 males,5 females) with perimembranous VSD and two patients (1 male,1 female) with muscular VSD underwent an catheter closure using the new Amplatzer membranous and muscular VSD occluder.All patients who were eligible for device closure by means of cardiac Doppler echocardiography were routinely measured the parameters of blood dynamics before catheter closure. Artery-venous track was set up under the X-ray fluoroscopy,transesophageal (TEE) or transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) guidance. The marrow stromal cells of adult New Zealand rabbits cultivated and induced in vitro were used to form MCCAB by mixing,seeding and solidifying methods with the aid of alginate. The MCCABs were auto-transplanted intramuscularly into the rabbits for 4 to 8 weeks. The alginate-cancellous bone matrix composites or the cancellous bone matrix alone were implanted as control. The effectiveness of bone formation was assessed by means of roentgenography and histology.The results showed that the osteogeneses of MCCABs were better than those of the alginate-cancellous bone matrix composites and of the cancellous bone matrix. In the MCCABs, both intramembranous and cartilaginous osteogenesis were seen with the former predominating. In the control, only slight cartilaginous osteogenesis was seen. The results suggested that the osteogenesis of the MCCABs constructed by using tissue engineering method was obvious when transplanted intramuscularly, therefore, this kind of tissue-engineered bone could be an effective way for clinical application.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the contents determination of 4 ingredients in Ligustrum lucidum decoration piece by reference extract method. METHODS:HPLC was performed on the column of XBridge C18 with mobile phase of acetoni-trile-0.1% formic acid(gradient elution) at flow rate of 1.0 ml/min,detection wavelength was 254 nm,column temperature was 30℃and volume injection was 10μl. RESULTS:The linear range was 0.037-0.598 mg for neonuezhenide,0.006-0.101 mg for ac-teoside,0.189-3.023 mg for nuezhenide and 0.314-5.027 mg for specnuezhenide(r≥0.999 0);RSDs of precision,reproducibility and stability tests were no more than 3.8%;recoveries were 98.46%-104.83%(RSD=2.43,n=6),95.55%-104.57%(RSD=3.63, n=6),100.09%-104.39%(RSD=1.45,n=6)and 98.84%-104.97%(RSD=2.02,n=6). CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple, good reproducibility,and can be used for the contents determination of 4 ingredients in L. lucidum decoration piece.

Results Six body symptoms referred in medical records are anorexia,lassitude, sweating, abdominal distension, insomnia, and hypochondriac pain, account 53.41% in top ten symptoms;regulating Qi method is the most frequently used treatment; The most frequently use prescriptions in a descending order are Xiaoyaosan, Buzhong Yiqi Tang, Taoren Chengqi Tang, Modified Guipi Tang, Wendan Tang, Liujun Zi Tang, Suanzaoren Tang, et. Most frequently applied medical herbs in a descending order are bupleurum, dried tangerine peel, white peony alba, tumeric root tuber, fossilia ossis mastoid, and Chinese angelica, et. Conclusion There are certain rules in the origin, pathogenesis, diagnosis and prescriptions of depressive disorder in ancient medical records, Er Xu Ming Yi Lei An.

AIM: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of rhBMP-2/collagen composite on bone regeneration during expansion of the interparietal suture in the rats. METHODS: 32 10-week old SD rats were divided into groups consisting of 8 rats each. They were comprised of normal control group, expansion control group and the treatment group, the two treatment groups were covered with atelo-typeⅠcollagen and rhBMP-2/collagen composite on the suture before subjected to the expansion force. The bone regeneration in the interparietal suture was estimated by histological method, the osteocalcin content was measured by radioimmonoassay and the calcium content was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. RESULTS: The bone regeneration was more active in the suture after giving an expanding force than in the suture without any intervention. Objective To compare the biomechanical stability of the multiaxial inter-vertebral and vertebral pedicle screw fixation in vertebral fracture fixation of the spinal fracture model. Methods Six lumbar fracture models were made on fresh calf lumbar spine specimens at L1 -L5 to compare the stability of four transpedicular multiaxial screws and six transpedicular multiaxial screws by examining the range of motion (ROM) in flexion, extension, lateral bending and torsion. Results Biomechanical experiment found that four multiaxial screws transpedicular fixation specimen exhibited a significantly larger ROM in flexion and extension than the intact specimens; while six multiaxial transpedicular screw fixation specimen exhibited a smaller ROM than the intact specimens (t =4. 844,P ＜0. 01 ;t =3. 722,P ＜0.05 ). The ROM of six multiaxial transpedicular screw fixation specimen was significantly smaller than that of four multiaxial transpedicular screw fixation specimen in flexion, extension, lateral bending and rotation ( P ＜ 0. 01 ). Conclusions Compared with four multiaxial transpedicular screw fixation, six multiaxial transpedicular screw fixation exhibits a significantly larger stability in flexion, extension, lateral bending and rotation, as provides theoretical basis for treatment of thoracolumbar fractures with pedicular screw fixation.

Purpose To analyze the echocardiographic features of peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) using Logistic regression, and to screen the indexes which can be used for the prognosis of PPCM. Materials and Methods Fifty patients who were diagnosed as PPCM by echocardiography were divided into recovered group (30 cases) and non-recovered group (20 cases), all the patients underwent echocardiography, left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDd) was measured in the parasternal long axis view, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was measured using Simpson biplane method in the apical four-chamber and two-chamber view to look for the evidence of left ventricular thrombosis, if complicated with pulmonary hypertension, continuous wave Doppler was used for measuring the peak velocity of tricuspid valve regurgitation, and estimating of pulmonary artery systolic pressure, Logistic regression model was established and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was generated to evaluate the prediction value of Logistic regression model. Results Compared with non-recovered group, there was statistically significant difference of LVEDd, LVEF, left ventricular thrombosis, pulmonary hypertension and re-checked LVEF (t= -4.33, 7.64 and 11.54, P<0.05; χ2=10.93 and 4.43, P<0.05) in the first examination, while there was no statistical difference in pericardial effusion, mitral valve regurgitation and tricuspid regurgitation between the two groups (χ2=2.21, 0.67 and 3.46, P>0.05). Three sonographic features LVEDd, LVEF and left ventricular mural thrombus) could be used for the establishment of Logistic model (χ2=5.14, 11.59 and 14.58, P<0.05). The prediction accuracy of the model was 90.0% (45/50, P<0.001) and the area under ROC curve was 0.945±0.030 (P<0.001). Conclusion Logistic regression analysis can be applied for the screening of ultrasound index for PPCM, LVEDD, LVEF and left ventricular wall thrombus can predict the prognosis of PPCM accurately.

Objective To provide a good anatomical foundation for transposition of the branch of median nerve superficial flexor muscle repairing the movement branch of ulnar nerve to recover the function of intrinsic muscle, by anatomic study of the muscle branch of the superficial flexor muscle of the median nerve and the movement branch of ulnar nerve. Methods Twenty adult upper limb specimens immersed fixed by formalin were elected and expose the midian nerve and ulnar nerve. Then every anatomical index was measured. Simulate to manipulate that the branch of superficial flexor muscle repair the motor b ranch of ulnar nerve. Calculate the number of myelinated nerve fibers of the branch of superficial flexor muscle. Results The distance between the position into muscle and styloid process of radius and styloid process of ulna: (21.4±1.8)mm, the distance that can be separated: (27.1±1.2)mm, the transverse diameter: (1.2±0.2)mm, anteroposterior diameter: (0.7 ± 0.1 )mm. No injury separated distance between the sensory branch and motor branch of ulnar nerve: (7.1 ± 0.7)cm. The 4th muscular branches of median nerve flexor digitorum superficialis was 1378.9± 107.9. Conclusion The 4th muscular branches of median nerve flexor digitorum superficialis can be used to repair the motor branch of the ulnar nerve to recover the function of intrinsic muscle of hand.
