1.Clinical Observation on the Treatment of 38 Cases of Vascular Headache by Acupuncture

Purpose: This study is to observe the therapeutic effect of puncturing acupoints Dazhui (GV 14), Fengchi (GB 20), Jiaji (Ex-B 2), Waiguan (TE 5), Qiuxu (GB 40) and Zhaohai (KI 6) on vascular headache. Methods: 68 cases of vascular headache were divided into treatment group including 38 cases and control group including 30 cases. The patients in treatment group were treated by puncturing Dazhui (GV 14), Fengchi (GB 20), Jiaji C26 (Ex-B 2),Waiguan (TE 5), Qiuxu (GB 40) through Zhaohai (KI 6) and patients in control group were asked to take Pizotifen orally. Results: After 2 courses of treatments, 35 cases got effect in treatment group, and 22 cases got effect in control group, the therapeutic effect in treatment group was superior to that in control group (P< 0.05). Conclusions: Puncturing Dazhui (GV 14), Fengchi (GB 20), Jiaji C26(Ex-B 2), Waiguan (TE 5), Qiuxu (GB 40) and Zhaohai (KI 6)is effective for the vascular headache.
2.The impact analysis of alprostadil on nerve conduction velocity and blood flow status of 120 patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Objective To research the effects of alprostadil on nerve conduction velocity and blood flow status of 120 patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Methods 120 cases of patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy in our hospital were selected as the research objects.According to the hospital admission,they were divided into observation group and control group.The control group was treated with Mecobalamin intravenous drip treatment; on the basis of the above treatment,the observation group was treated with alprostadil intravenous drip treatment,and the treatment time was two weeks.To established the relevant clinical curative effect standard for evaluated and compared the clinical therapeutic effect of the two groups.Before and after treatment,compared the nerve conduction velocity and blood flow between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 86.67%,and the control group was 71.67%,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences between the two groups in nerve conduction velocity and blood rheology indexes.After treatment,the median nerve MNSV,common nerve MNSV,median nerve SNCV,common nerve SNCV of the observation group were(54.14±7.29)m/s,(50.22±7.85)m/s,(48.47±7.64m/s and(47.04±6.58m/s respectively,were significantly higher than the control group(50.11±6.85)m/s,(46.24±7.08)m/s,(44.58±7.21)m/s,(43.57±6.55)m/s.The observation group of plasma viscosity,high shear viscosity and low shear viscosity levels were(2.48±0.29)Mpa/s,(4.87±0.41)Mpa/s,(33.46±2.77)Mpa/s,were significantly lower than the control group(2.83±0.33)Mpa/s,(5.23±0.44)Mpa/s,(34.83±2.54)Mpa/s,and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Alprostadil can significantly improve nerve conduction velocity and blood flow condition in patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy,has better clinical curative effect.
3.Occupational exposure of medicine and safety protection measures

With reference to medical personnel's infection during the prevalence of SARS, the paper offers some general information on the risks of occupational exposure of medicine. The commonly seen risks fall into four major categories, including biological risks, such as infection of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HTV, etc.; chemical risks, such as those from antineoplastic drugs, cleaning agents, disinfectants, narcotics, dusts; physical risks, such as radiation, injury by sharp instruments, injury from heavy burden, forced body positions, etc.; and psychological risks. The paper also puts forward some proposals for safety protection: intensifying training in occupational safety of medicine, reinforcing the protection of high-risk groups of people and high-risk body parts, augmenting the supply of protective materials and the improvement of protective facilities, and setting up and perfecting long-acting protection and supply mechanisms.

AIM: AIM: To explore the relationship between apoptosis in the lung tissues and lung ischemia/reperfusion injury, and observe effects of panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) on apoptosis in lung ischemia/reperfusion injury. 5.In vitro Selection of DNA Aptamer to Cyclosporin A by SELEX Method

To obtain the aptamers with high affinity and specificity for cyclosporin A(CsA),a synthesized 78 nt single stranded DNA(ssDNA)random library containing 35 random sequences flanked by invariant primer was subjected to 1 1 rounds of selection against CsA by SELEX protocol.Magnetic beads were used for target immobilization and the biotin-streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase system was employed for determining the binding affinity between the aptamers and CsA. After ten rounds of selection and amplification, with an increasing affinity for each round,the selected aptamers were cloned,sequenced and analyzed for their primaryand secondary structures.The 19 aptamers were divided into five groups based on primary sequence homology.Hairpin loop is the main motif in the predicted secondary structure and is supposed to be the binding part of the aptamers to CsA.The CsA-specific aptamers will be useful for enzyme-linked assays or immunofluorescence asses of CsA.
6.Computed tomographic methods and findings in adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder

Objective To describe the characteristic CT imaging of adenomyomatosis of gallbladder and to improve the diagnostic knowledge of the disease. Methods Eleven (5 males and 6 females, mean age = 43 years) patients with adenomyomatosis of gallbladder (4 diffuse, 2 segmental, and 5 fundal) confirmed by histopathology and performed by CT examination including plain, dynamic or multiphase enhancement and / or oral cholegraphic agent were reviewed. Results Correct diagnosis was made in 7 of 11 patients(3 diffuse, 1 segmental, and 3 fundal). CT findings included segmental or diffuse gallbladder wall thickening in the involved area, associated with well defined and regular borders at both of the inner and outer layers. Significant CT findings of this entity were marked enhancement of wall layers during triphase contrast CT scanning, especially at delayed scans. Rokitansky Aschoff sinuses were clearly shown by CT, presenting as characteristic "aureola " sign, when performed with application of a cholegraphic agent. Conclusion Understanding the CT findings and using the optimal methods, we can use CT scan as a valuable method to help make the diagnosis in most cases of adenomyomatosis.

AIM: To investigate the effect of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1)/carbon monoxide (CO) system on pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion injury (PIRI) in rabbits. METHODS: Single lung ischemia and reperfusion animal model was used in vivo. The rabbits were randomly divided into three groups (n=10 in each), control group (C), PIR group (I-R), PIR+ hemin group (H) and PIR+zinc protoporphyrin IX (ZnPP) group (Z). Changes of several parameters which included plasma carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) at different time points, wet to dry ratio of lung tissue weight (W/D), the injured alveoli rate (IAR) and the HO-1 enzymatic activity were measured at 180 min after reperfusion in lung tissue. The tissue slides were also stained by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) for HO-1 to detect the expression of HO-1 in lung and to analyze the optical density. The lung tissue was prepared for electron microscopic observation at 180 min after reperfusion. RESULTS: The plasma content of COHb in I-R, H, and Z group increased in a time-dependent manner after I-R. Objective To detect EPPB41L3 methylation frequency difference between esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) tissues and the normal tissues and between ESCC patients′plasma and healthy volenteers′plasma, and to analyze the correlation with clinicopathological parameters. Methods We collected esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues (n = 42 patients) and adjacent surrounding normal tissues (n = 42 patients), and plasma from 42 patients with ESCC and from 50 healthy individuals. We used methylation specific PCR (MSP) combined with agarose gel electrophoresis to detect the methylation status of the EPB41L3. We used the SPSS 13.0 software for statistical analysis by χ2 test and Fisher′s exact test. Results EPB41L3 frequency of methylation was significantly higher in tumor tissues than in the adjacent tissues (59.5% vs. 4.8%), the difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 28.873, P < 0.001). For plasma, EPB41L3 methylation frequency was 31.0%in cancer patients, while was not detectable in the healthy volunteers. Methylation of EPB41L3 in tissues was more frequently found in patients with tumor size of ≥ 5 cm or T3 than in patients with tumor size of < 5 cm or T1-2. Conclusions The methylation frequency of EPB41L3 is higher in ESCC tissues than in control normal tissues, and higer in plasma from ESCC patients than that from the healthy volunteers. EPB41L3 methylation is more frequently found in patients with more advanced disease.
10.Biological significance of vW factor expression at fracture site in fracture healing

Objective To primarily study the possible biological significance of yon Willebrand factor (vWF) expression at the fracture site in the mechanism of fracture healing. Methods A total of 28 male SD rats were selected to set up femoral fracture models. Then, tissue samples from fracture site were randomly taken at days 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 and 21 after establishment of the models, with 4 rats at each time point, vWF expression at fracture site and the relationship of vWF expression with osteoblasts and chondroblasts were observed by using computer image analysis system. The biological significance of vWF expression at fracture site in mechanism of fracture healing were analysed based on the results of vWF expression of in vitro cultured rat osteoblasts. Results The expression of vWF at every time point was positive and distributed disproportionally irregular at bone trabecula and soft tissue of the fracture site. vWF expressed positively in the extracellular matrix around the chondroblasts. Conclusions During the course of fracture healing, there may be vWF-platelet activation pathway that can regulate differentiation and proliferation of local osteoblasts and chondrocytes and activate platelets secreting growth factors such as PDGF, IGF-1, EGF and TGF-a, as creates a sound microenvironment for fracture healing.
