2.Mass cultivation of EPA-rich marine microalgae Nannochloropsis oculata
Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(01):-
Industrial culture media for cultivation of marine microalgae Nannochloropsis oculata was optimized by using Random Design software. High eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) content was obtained over 40% of total fatty acid, and high average specific growth rate of 0.32d -1 was obtained in cells grown in the selected Formula 1. Mass cultivation of this species was practiced in indoor open raceway ponds of 6.12 m 2 and 28.02 m 2, and in outdoor open pond of 83.50 m 2 during May and June in 1999. The average area yield of biomass were obtained at 2.77, 1.62 and 2.52 g /m 2?d, and in October, 1.09 g/ m 2?d was obtained in 83.5m 2 outdoor pond, and the harvest algae powder contained 49.50% of protein, 20.30% of total lipid and 3.00% of EPA of dry weight. With high temperature tolerant species during August in 2000, the average area yield of biomass were increased to 5.44?9.96 and 7.66 g/ m 2?d in above ponds, respectively and 2.50% of EPA of dry weight was contained in the powder. It is indicated that the industrialized cultivation of Nannochloropsis oculata rich in EPA is completely doable on practice, and the algal powder was a good raw material as single cell protein and development of EPA rich products.

Ophthalmology in China 2006;0(05):-
Objective This study is to identify the presence of superoxide anion-generating system in human lens epithelial cells using arachidonic acid (AA) as the stimulator.Design Experimental study.Participants Human lens epithelial cells B3 (HLE B3). Methods Confluent human lens epithelial cells (HLE B3) were subjected to stimulation by AA and its derivatives. The generation of su- peroxide anion was quantified with a luminometer (LumiStar BMG) immediately upon AA and its derivatives addition.Cells preloaded with superoxide dismutase (SOD) or mannitol were used as negative controls and cells mixed with 3% ethanol (solvent for AA) were used as baseline.Cells were preloaded with inhibitors 30 minutes before luminometer measurement.A time-and concentration-depen- dent study on the AA-stimulated activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) was carried out using western blot analysis. Main Outcome Measures Superoxide generation, phosphorylation of MAPK.Results AA at dosage of 30-150 mM proportionally in- duced luminescence in HLE B3 cells, but was ineffective in cells preloaded with SOD or mannitol.DPI,a non-specific NADPH oxidase inhibitor eliminated AA-induced superoxide anion generation partially.Leinoleic acid, stearic acid,eicosa-11Z,14Z,17Z-trienoic acid (20:3) and eicosa-11Z,14Z-dienoic acid (20:2) were ineffective. The generation of superoxide anion was not contributed by cyclooxyge- nase or the cytochrome p450 pathway since indomethacin (inhibitor for cyclooxygenase) or ketoconazole (inhibitor for cytochrome p450) could not eradicate the stimulatory effect of AA.While CDC,a specific inhibitor for lipoxygenase could eliminate superoxide generation partially. The specific inhibitor for 5-lipoxygenase AA861 completely blocked the generation of superoxide anion.Western blot analysis of the cell lysate showed that AA at the concentrations of 30-150 mM progressively activated ERK and JNK.They were transiently ac- tivated between 2.5-30 minutes. The activations of ERK and JNK were dose-dependent and time-dependent.Conclusions Inhibition of superioxide anion generation may be a new approach to block lens epithelial cell proliferation and post-capsule opacification.

False and negative information has brought forth serious impacts on doctor-patient relationship in the new media era as a result of “Broken window effect”and “Butterfly effect”.The underlying reasons are herd mentality, the public’s need to vent their discontent, the subjectivity of information distribution on the Internet and lack of proper supervision and punishment mechanism.Medical Institutions should pay special attention to the new media, leveraging it to improve doctor-patient relationship by making official voice, guiding public opinion, solving problems, and providing comfortable social environment and rational public opinion environment on the Internet.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;42(19):973-977
Cell-cycle deregulation leading to excessive cellproliferation is an important mechanism of human tumorigenesis. CDK6 and CDK4 have been found to be significant regulators of cellcycle, particularly in promoting cell -cycle progress. Moreover, these proteins are usually overly active in most tumors and closely related to tumor development. Recently, research has confirmed CDK4/6 as prospective targets for cancer therapy. However, the mechanism of excessive CDK6 activation leading to tumorigenesis is not completely understood. Therefore, further understanding of the role of CDK4/6 in cell -cycle regulatory pathways and celldifferenti-ation is essential, as well as their overexpression in different types of tumors. This information will elucidate the mechanisms of tumor development and treatment. Therefore, this review intends to discuss the structure and biological function of CDK6, the role and mecha-nism of CDK6 in carcinogenesis, and the clinical application of CDK6 inhibitors.

Objective To analyze and discuss the effects of preserving the intercostobrachial nerve(ICBN)in modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer. Methods A total of 80 patients with breast cancer were randomly divided into the observation group and control group(n = 40 in each). The ICBN in the observation group were reserved and it was removed in the control group. Operation time, the number of lymph nodes, blood loss and complication rates were compared between groups. Two groups of patients were followed up for abnormal sensory function and relapse and metastasis. Results There were no differences in the operation time, the number of dissected lymph nodes and blood loss(P > 0. 05). There was no difference in complication rate(12. 50% vs 15. 00% )between the observation group and control group(P > 0. 05). There were significant differences in the incidence of abnormal sensory function at the first week(10. 00% vs 52. 50% ),the first month(5. 00% vs 47. 50% ),the third month(2. 50%vs 45. 50% ),the sixth month(2. 50% vs 37. 50% ),and the twelfth month(0. 00% vs 27. 50% )after op-eration between the observation group and control group(P < 0. 05). During the one-year follow-up peri-od,there was no relapse or metastasis. Conclusion Preserving ICBN in modified radical mastectomy can effectively reduce the incidence of abnormal sensory function of the upper limb.

The preparation of Calculus bovis and its compounding preparations have been used widely in clinical practice.Traditionally, the forms of medicine were in raw material medicine way, preparing tablet, pill, powder or directly taking its powder. The main active ingredient of Calculus bovi were considered to be bilirubin and bile acids. However, the traditional formulations caused low bioavailability and wasted expensive herbs because its main component were insoluble in water. In recent years, many researchers have tried to use modern preparation technology to prepare its compounding formulations, such as solid dispersion technology, ultrafine grinding technology, powder coating technology, liposome encapsulation technology,or simplifying the prescription by using of known pharmacological effects of soluble components as substitutes. These methods were considered to be feasible to develop new formulations of Calculus bovis. In this paper,in order to provide reference of method and technology for the improvement of Calculus bovis compounding preparation and the development of new dosage form, ultramicrostructure, chemical composition, improvement methods and techniques of compounding preparation were analyzed. In addition, the relevant techniques and method of improving the formulation Calculus bovis compounding preparation in recent years were reviewed.
