[Objective]To observe the effect of treatment on post-stroke hiccup by acupuncture and medicine.[Methods]58 cases were divided into 2 groups randomly,30 cases were taken the acupuncture and medicine treatment, 28 cases were injected metoclopramide as control. [Results]The curative effect in therapy group is much better than that of control group(P<0.05).[Conclusion]The therapy of acupuncture and medicine is superior to pure medicine in the treatment of post-stroke hiccup.

As a kind of heavy metal, cadmium has the toxicity to multiple organs and tissues. Much progress has been made in the toxicological research, especially in the toxicity to the reproductive system. The recent researches on the toxicity on Cd, the toxicological mechanism and the preventive methods of cadmium poisoning were reviewed in the present paper.

Objective To explore the association among the depression,symptom phnotypes and polymorphism TPH A218C in the Han Chinese.Methods TPH A218C was determined using a PCR-based technique.TPH was genotyped using restriction fragment length polymorphism in 70 patients affected by depression and 70 unrelated controls.We evaluated the symptom phenotypes of cases applying the Hamilton Rating Scale for depression(HAMD). Results The TPH A218C genotype distribution in 70 patients with major depression was significantly different from that in controls(?2=6.946,P=0.031).The C allele in patients(44.3%) was significantly more frequent than in controls(24.3%) but the A allele(55.7%) and A/A genotype(31.4%) were significantly less frequent than in controls(75.7% and 62.9%)(?2=6.946,P=0.031).Meanwhile,among the males,a trend was observed toward an excess of TPH C/C(12.5% vs.6.3%) in patients and excess of TPH A/A in controls(75.0% vs.25.0%)(?2=8.103,P=0.017).There were no significant differences in three genotypes distribution among symptom phenotypes of cases.Conclusion There was an association between TPH A218C polymorphism and depression.The findings raise the possibility that TPH A218C polymorphism may exert differential effects based on gender.There is no association among TPH A218C polymorphism and symptom phenotypes of depression.

Objective To explore the impact of transformational leadership on nurses'professional quality of life and organizational commitment by hierarchical linear modeling (HLM).Methods A total of 44,6 clinical nurses were investigated with demography questionnaire,professional quality of life questionnaire,organizational commitment questionnaire and transformational leadership questionnaire.Results The transformational leadership had positive predict ability to the nurses'compassion satisfaction,secondary traumatic stress and organizational commitment.The transformational leadership had negative predict ability to burnout.The transformational leadership could adjust the relationship between compassion satisfaction,secondary traumatic stress and organizational commitment.Conclusions The transformational leadership provides theoretical reference for nursing managers to effectively lead the team,increase professional life quality of the nurses,and then improve the level of organizational commitment of the nurses.

Objective:To explore the effects of cognitive impairment on the performance of Binomial Forced-Choice Digit Memory Test (BFDMT). Methods: Subjects were screened by Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the brief form of WAIS-RC.BFDMT was administered to 38 dementias and 19 controls.Results: (1) There was no significant difference in the scores of two dimensions and total score of BFDMT between dementias and controls. (2) There was significant difference in the difficult item scores and the total score among three groups of subjects with different levels of IQ. The difficult item scores and the total score of the subjects with IQ 70～84 were significantly higher than those with IQ 50～69 and IQ 34～49. There were no significant differences among all groups in the easy item scores. (3) The false positive was 15.8% by the cutoff scores of total scores of BFDMT and increased with the decline of IQ. Conclusion: The performance of BFDMT is somewhat influenced by intellectual defect. A high false positive of BFDMT particularly happens in the patients with severe intellectual decline.

Aspirin has demonstrated its efficacy in the prevention of adverse events related to cardiovascular disease, and lots of epidemiological studies suggest that it also can be used to prevent colorectal cancer and to decrease its recurrence after curative resection.The guideline published by USPSTF recently first time affirms the overall health benefit of aspirin in colorectal cancer prevention.Aspirin could prevent the colorectal cancer by the cyclooxygenase-dependent mechanisms and the COX-independent mechanisms.In this review, we will summarize some results of related researches and discuss the possible mechanisms.

Objective To approach the effect of blocking the JAK-STAT signal pathway in the treatment of rat's rheumatoid arthritis.Methods Thirty-six arthritis rat models,which had arthritis index more than 2 scores,were built successfully by Department of Rheumatology and Immunology,the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University,and they were divided into model group one and two,low dose of AG490 group,middle dose of AG490 group,high dose of AG490 group and leflunomide group.Besides,6 rats were treated as normal control group.And they were given normal sodium 1 mL,AG490 1、5、10 mg/(kg?d)and leflunomide 10 mg/(kg?d) by intraperitoneal injection or intragastric administration,then all the rats were sacrificed after 44 days.After that,compared the weight,arthritis index,the volume of toe,pathological score,and the change of p-STAT1,p-STAT3.Results The arthritis of model group developed rapidly,and the arthritis index,the volume of toe increased obviously,and the expression of p-STAT1 and p-STAT3 increased and the body weight decreased,all of which had significant meaning compared with that of control group.The body weights of rats in low dose group of AG490 were heavier than that of control group,the symptom of arthrocele in low dose group of AG490 was lighter than that of control group,and could inhibited the activation of JAK-STAT signal pathway in some degree,but the arthritis index numbers and the pathological score had no significant difference from that of model group.The body weights,arthritis index,the volume of toe and pathological score in middle dose group of AG490 improved obviously(P

Objective To investigate the incidence of glucose metabolism disorder during pregnancy and establish the diagnosis criteria for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) among Chinese patients.Method A prospective popolation-bused study of 16 286 pregnant women,who received 50 g glucose challenge test (GCT) for the first time between Apr 1,2006 and Sept 30,2006,was performed throughout 18 cities in China. Results According to national diabetes data group (NDDG)criteria,the overall incidence of GDM and glucose impaired glucose tolerance (GIGT) was 2.763% (450/16 286) and 3.862% (629/16 286),respectively; it changed to 5.078% (827/16 286)and 5.268% (858/16 286) when using American diabetes association (ADA) criteria.If the women who had 2 or more abnormal oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) values meeting or exceeding ADA criteria was classified as group 1,and the women who had one or more meeting or exceeding NDDG criteria was group 2,the ratio of women who met both the criteria of ADA and NDDG in group 1 was 94.2%.The 95% CI of normal glucose when using ADA criteria were fasting glucose 5.3 mmol/L,1 hour 10.4 mmol/L,2 hour 8.7 mmol/L,3 hour 7.7 mmol/L,which is close to ADA criteria.Conclusions ADA criterion is more suitable for Chinese patients.According to NDDG criteria,it is reasonable to treat the patient with 1 or more abnormal OGTT values,and if choosing ADA criteria,2 or more abnormal OGrIT values is more reasonable.

Background Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most important microvascular complications of diabetes,which has become one of the leading causes of blindness.Neovascularization is the main pathological manifestations of DR,but its mechanism is unknown.There is a clear need to investigate its pathogenesis which can offer potential therapeutic targets.Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the expression and distribution of visfatin and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in diabetic model rats.Methods This study was approved by Animal Ethic Committee of Inner Mongolia Medical University.Sixty SPF 8-week-old male SpragueDawley rats were randomized into the diabetic group and control group.The rats were housed under a condition that alternated between 12 hours of light and darkness,with free access to rat food and water.Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of 60 mg/kg (0.60 ml/100 g) of streptozotocin (STZ) and control rats received equivalent volume of buffer.The models were regarded as successful when blood glucose was ≥ 16.7 mmol/L.Rats were sacrificed 12 weeks after the injection of STZ and retinal specimens were prepared to detect the expression of visfatin and VEGF.Total retinal protein was isolated from the retinas of experimental and control eyes,and the expression of visfatin and VEGF was assessed by Western blot.Frozen cross sections of retinas of 5 μm thickness were used to perform double immunofluorescence staining with anti-visfatin and anti-VEGF antibodies.Results Mean body weight of the diabetic rats was (189.02±11.34) g and that of the control rats was (489.57 ± 14.48) g at 12 weeks post-injection,showing a significant difference between them (t =5.236,P =0.003).Mean blood glucose level was (29.25±3.86) mmol/L in the diabetic group and (5.32±1.01) mmol/L in the control group,demonstrating a significant difference (t =11.778,P =0.000).Double immunofluorescence staining showed reduced expression of visfatin and VEGF in the retinal nerve fibrous layer and glial cells in the control rats.A stronger staining for visfatin and VEGF was found in the various layers of the retina in the diabetic rats,with an expression level of visfatin (A value) of 346.26±41.23,which was considerably higher than that of the control group (102.07±65.01) (t =8.291,P =0.000) in 12 weeks after injection.Furthermore,the expression of VEGF in the retina was elevated in the diabetic group compared with the control group (A value) (415.88±92.15 vs.113.06±32.06) (t=10.067,P=0.000).Conclusions Visfatin might contribute to the pathologic progression of diabetic retinal,neovascularization and it might play a synergistic role with VEGF in the pathophysiology of DR.
