Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS),a neurodegenerative disorder,is subtle in disease onset, difficult to diagnose, and fast-growing at progression.There.are at present little specific neurological imaging characteristics of ALS.Functional brain imaging techniques, such as SPECT and PET,were the early tools for investigation of ALS.The application of pixel-based analysis software (such as SPM) renders research in this area more convenient and objective. In recent years, improvement in brain receptor PET imaging has demonstrated its important value in the early diagnosis of ALS and evaluation of cognitive impairment.

Objective To explore the clinical value of transvaginal three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound in assessing effects of Chinese herbal drugs on improving endometrial receptivity in patients with thin endometrium. Methods A total of 76 cases of patients diagnosed with thin endometrium in Jiangbei District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2015 to October 2016 were selected and treated with Chinese herbal prescription for three months. The endometrial thickness, endometrial volume and blood flow indexes before and after treatment were measured by using transvaginal three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound. Results After 3 months treatment, the endometrial thickness and endometrial volume were increased, and the pulse index (PI) and resistance index (RI) of endometrial blood flow were decreased, compared with those before treatment, there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The results of three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound indicates that after 3 months treatment the vascularization index (VI),flow index (FI) and vascularization flow index (VFI) were significantly higher than those before treatment, there were statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion The Chinese herbal prescription could increase the thickness and volume of endometrium, augment blood supply, and improve endometrial receptivity significantly.Transvaginal color three-dimensional Doppler ultrasound is a convenient and objective method for evaluating clinical efficacy of Chinese herbal prescription in patients with thin endometrium, which has high practical value.

OBJECTIVETo deposit silver nanoparticles on a titanium surface to obtain antibacterial properties. To reduce the incidence of peri-implantitis, and improve the success rate of implantation.
METHODSA silver nanoparticle-modified titanium (Ti-nAg) surface was prepared using silanization method, and its surface was characterized by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX). Two species of bacteria, namely, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, were used to test the antibacterial effect of Ti-nAg surface.
RESULTSScanning electron microscope (SEM) revealed that a small quantity of silver nanoparticles were deposited on the titanium surface. XPS analyses revealed that 6.8% of silver was present on the titanium surface. After 24 h of incubation, 94.23% of Staphylococcus aureus and 95.34% of Escherichia coli were killed on the Ti-nAg surface.
CONCLUSIONResults suggest that silver nanoparticle-modified titanium is a promising material with an antibacterial property that may be used as an implantable biomaterial.

Objective To synthesize 99Tcm labeled VEGF fragment (VEGF125-136) and evaluate its biodistribution and imaging in the nude mice bearing human osteosarcoma,in order to find a probe to improve the early diagnosis and targeted therapy of osteosarcoma. Methods VEGF125-136 was synthesized by conventional solid phase synthesis method, and directly coupled with MAG3 to form MAG3-VEGF125-136,then MAG3-VEGF125-136 was labeled with 99Tcm.The osteosarcoma bearing nude mice were randomly divided into four groups by random number table and studied for 99Tcm-MAG3-VEGF125-136 distribution at 0.5,1,2,4 h,respectively. The other 10 osteosarcoma bearing nude mices were divided into the experimental group and competitive inhibition group, and underwent radionuclide imaging. The T/NT ratio was calculated.Data were analyzed using two-sample t test. Results The radioactive labeling rate was greater than 95%,radiochemical purity was still greater than 85% after 12 h in room temperature. The 99Tcm-MAG3-VEGF125-136 was cleared fast in blood and mainly excreted through the kidneys and liver.Tumor uptake of 99Tcm-MAG3-VEGF125-136 was highest at 1 h with (0.28±0.02) %ID/g.The T/NT ratios of experimental group at 0.5,1,2,4 h were 1.07±0.10,3.10±0.19,2.63±0.14,1.90±0.09,respectively.In competitive inhibition group,no obvious radioactivity concentration was observed in tumors. The T/NT ratios were 0.99± 0.05,1.06± 0.06,0.98±0.03,0.97±0.03 at 0.5,1,2,4 h respectively. The T/NT ratios were significantly different between the two groups at 1,2,4 h (t=22.52,26.36 and 22.31,all P<0.05),but no significant difference was observed at 0.5 h (t =1.44,P>0.05).Conclusion 99Tcm-MAG3-VEGF125-136 has high labeling efficacy, good stability and high specificity to osteosarcoma. It can be used as an agent for early diagnosis and therapy monitoring in osteosarcoma.

Objective To evaluate the biomechanical effect of cortical screw support technique in fixation of the femoral neck fractures. Methods The models of subcapital femoral neck fracture were made in eight matched pairs of embamled cadaver femurs and decided into experiment group and control group (four pairs per group). The side of experiment group was fixed using three cannulated compression screws with cortical screw support and that of control group with conventional screw placement. The speci-mens in two groups were tested in aspects of torsion and axial loading. Results In axial load test at load of 600 N and 800 N, the displacements in cortical screw support group were (0.677±0.135) mm and (0.907±0.132) mm respectively, while those of femoral head in conventional screw placement group were (0.899±0.160) mm and (1.202±0.152) nun respectively (P <0.05). There was signifi-cant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The maximal vertical loading for failure of the fixa-tion was (2 782±228) N in cortical screw support group and (1 950±281) N in conventional screw placement group (P < 0.01). In torsibility test at 4° and 6° torsibility, the torque-moments of cortical screw support group were (10.406±1.515) Nm and (15.328 ±1.471) Nm respectively and those of conventional screw placement group (6.628±1.163) Nm and (9.072±1.570) Nm respectively, with statistical difference between two groups (P <0.01). The maximal torque-moment for failure of the fixa-tion was (25.437±5.213) Nm in cortical screw support group and (13.235±3.012) Nm in conven-tional screw placement group (P < 0.01). Conclusion Fixation of femoral neck fractures by using cortical screw support can significantly enhance anti-torsion and anti-compression of internal fixation.
