1.Expression of subretinal fluid hepatocyte growth factor and proliferative vitreoretinopathy
International Eye Science 2005;5(2):221-224
● AIM: To explore the role that hepatocyte growth factor plays in proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) after retinal detachment.● METHODS: The contents of hepatocyte growth factor in subretinal fluid (SRF) in 49 cases with retinal detachment were measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.● RESULTS: With the worsening of PVR and vitreous opacity and prolonging of disease course, the content of hepatocyte growth factor increased (P<0.05), the difference being statistically significant.● CONCLUSION: The change of hepatocyte growth factor in SRF had a close relation ship with the occurrence and development of PVR after retinal detachment.

The plastic splint PCL,which is introduced in this article,is a new type of medical exter- nal immobilization material.During the course of its development, the burden has been optimality seeked with regressive orthogonality after screening of the material. Its function has attained the international levels during the eighties. This splint may be used not only in the treatment of burns and various orthopedic conditions, but also in the immobilization of fracture and rehabilation treatment of orthopedic patients etc.

group Nor(P0.05).Conclusions The changes of ambulatory pulse pressure can reflect the degree of EH.The obvious increase of PP and decrease of DBP maybe are the exclusive features of ABPM in EH patients with target organs damage.

Objective To use estimation of physiologic ability and surgical stress (E-PASS) to assay operative risks in patients with hip fracture and to discuss its application value. Methods Sixtyfour patients with hip fractures were subjected to the retrospective review. There were 38 males and 26 females,at mean age of 54.3 years (range,19-84 years). The operative risk was assayed by E-PASS and postoperative complications as well as case fatality were detected and compared. Results Postoperative complications developed in 16 patients (25%).E-PASS score was significantly higher for the patients with postoperative complications than in those without [(0.64 ± 0.31) points vs (0.22 ± 0.31) points,P < 0.05].Incidence of complications was significantly lower for patients with a E-PASS score < 0.6 than for those with a E-PASS score > 0.6 (19% vs 50%,P < 0.01).There were 2 deaths among 16 patients with a E-PASS score > 0.6.The remaining 48 patients with a E-PASS score < 0.6 obtained satisfactory recovery. Conclusion E-PASS is effective for predicting operative risk and is instructive for surgery decision in treatment of hip fractures.

Objective To observe the effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) on the recovery of gastrointestinal function after laparoscopic intestinal operation. Methods Sixty patients of the selective laparoscopic intestinal resection, 28 males and 32 females, aged 18-65 years, ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ, were enrolled and randomly allocated into two groups: TEAS group and control group, 30 in each group.Patients in TEAS group accepted transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation treatment at Neiguan, Hegu, Zusanli points from the time before induction of anesthesia to 3 days after surgery, and patients in the control group were treated with transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation, but the electrode pads were just attached on the related points with no electric stimulation.Plasma motilin concentrations preoperatively, postoperatively 12, 24, 48 and 72 h were measured in the two groups. The recovery time of intestinal peristalsis, anal flatus time, in-hospital time and the incidence of nausea and vomiting within 3 days after operation were observed. Results Compared with the control group, serum motilin concentration postoperative 24 h increased significantly [(218.5±52.3) pg/ml vs (141.8±45.8) pg/ml, P<0.05], the time of intestinal peristalsis recovery [(19.4±3.2) h vs (29.6±7.8) h, P<0.05] and flatus [(23.2±4.7) h vs (36.5±8.9) h, P<0.05] were shorter, the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting within 3 days after operation decreased significantly in TEAS group (16.7% vs 36.7%, P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference of the in-hospital time between the two groups. Conclusion TEAS can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients undergoing laparoscopic intestinal surgery.
