Objective: To observe the effect of home-made blenderized diet on nutritional support in old comatose patients. Methods: Sixty-three old comatose patients were fed with home-made blenderized diet by nosal gastric feeding.Triceps skinfolds were measured every month. The serum levels of albumin,pre-albumin,total number of lymph cells and hemoglobin were analysed every month. Results: No side effects of abdominal pain, dearrhea, nausea and vomiting were observed in the fed patients. The states of nutrition(such as triceps skinfolds,albumin,pre-albumin,total number of lymph cells and hemoglobin) were improved significantly after home-made blenderized diet. Conclusion: The home-made blenderized diet can support the old comatose patients effectively.

Objective To explore the expression of cadherin (Cad) genes in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML),and to elucidate the significance of Cad genes in the development of CML.Methods E-Cad and N-Cad gene expression levels in bone marrow mononuclear cells (BM-MNC) from 48 CML patients (29 in chronic phase,19 in progressive phase) were detected by real time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).Results Gene expression of E-Cad and N-Cad was detectable in CML BM-MNC.E-Cad gene expression level was lower in progressive CML than that in chronic CML (0.20 ± 0.35 vs 1.19 ± 0.87,P < 0.01),while N-Cad was highly expressed in progressive CML than in chronic CML (0.89 ± 0.45 vs 0.57 ± 0.47,P < 0.05).E-Cad gene expression level was negatively corrclatcd with thc pcrccntagc of peripheral blood progenitor cells (r =-0.705,P < 0.01).Conclusion E-Cad and N-Cad gene expression correlates with the progression of CML,and might be used as an evaluation index for disease development.

Objective To investigate the expressions of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA in patients with non-small cell lung cancer, and to investigate the correlation between the above-mentioned indexes and patients′ prognosis. Methods A total of 65 patients with non-small cell lung cancer admitted to the third People′s Hospital in Liaocheng City were selected and were served as study objects.Immunohistochemical staining(S-P) method was used to detect the expression of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA in tissues to analyze the difference of expression between different pathological parameters. And 65 patients were followed up after the operation to compare the survival time of patients in the negative expression group and the positive expression group, and to analyze the correlation between ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA and the prognosis of the disease. Results Among the 65 cases of patients,47 cases were positive for ALCAM with the positive rate of 72.3%,34 cases were positive for IL-17RA with the positive rate of 52.3%;31 cases were positive for PIK3CA with the positive rate of 47.7%.There was significant difference in the expression of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA in patients with different pathological types,TNM staging and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).There was no significant statistical difference in the expression of patients with different genders and ages(P>0.05).The median survival time of patients with positive results of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA were lower than those of negative group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of ALCAM,IL-17RA and PIK3CA increased in non-small cell lung cancer tissues to remind the higher degree of malignancy and poor prognosis.

Basal rate verification is the process to find and verify the basal rate of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSⅡ) required for basal glucose metabolism. In the present study, five cases of brittle diabetes were treated by CSⅡ with Insulin Lispro. After doses were adjusted to reach steady blood glucose levels, basal rate verifying tests were carried out.The results showed that the overall level and stability of blood glucose were improved markedly after CSⅡ.Before and after the verification of the basal rate, there was no significant difference in CSⅡ total doses.Basal rates decreased from 50% of total to 30% (P<0.05),and boluses increased to 70% (P<0.05).The basal rates during lunch and supper time were reduced by half (P<0.05),the boluses of lunch and supper were increased 1.5 times (P<0.05),and square waves were needed to control postprandial blood glucose. These results suggest that the CSⅡ could smoothly control blood glucose level in brittle diabetes without basal rate verification. However, the implementation of the verification could better determine the basal rates for basal glucose metabolism, and thus help to identify diet-related boluses.

OBJECTIVETo invesitigate the clinical effects of percutaneous closed reduction and cannulated screw internal fixation combined with external fixation in the treatment of unstable pelvic fractures.
METHODSFrom April 2006 to May 2009,29 patients with pelvic fractures of rotatory instability were treated with closed reduction and screw internal fixation combined with external fixation. There were 19 males and 10 females with an average age of 31 years old (ranged from 19 to 53 years). Based on the Tile classification,17 cases were type CI and 12 case were type C2. Tornetta standard and Majeed score were used to evaluated the clinical effect after operation.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 10 to 24 months with an average of 16 months. There were no nerve injuries and other organ injuries, only one case of infection was found and it was cured with wound dressing. Time of fracture union was from 14 to 18 weeks with the mean of 16.2 weeks. No loosening, slippage or breakage of the screw were found. According to the Tornetta standards,14 cases obtained excellent results, 10 good, 4 fair and 1 poor. The Majeed score was 87.2 ± 11.3, 16 cases got excellent results, 9 good and 4 fair.
CONCLUSIONClosed reduction and screw internal fixation combined with external fixation is an effective way to treat unstable pelvic fractures with Tile type C1 and Tile type C2.
