1.Novel tumor markers for early diagnosis: autoantibodies
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(5):342-345
Commonly used tumor markers have poor sensitivity and specificity. A lot of research are being conducted searching for the ideal novel serum markers. There are a large number of tumor-associated autoantibodies in cancer patients's serum. Screening and detecting autoantibodies may be used in the early diagnosis of cancer.

Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(12):1190-1191
ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy ofShu Feng An Shen(expelling wind and calming mind) needling plus distal points selection in treating cluster headache.MethodForty patients with cluster headache were divided into two groups by using random number table, 20 cases in each group. The treatment group was intervened byShu Feng An Shenneedling plus distal points selection, while the control group was by acupuncture with conventional points selection. The pain intensity score (Visual Analogue Scale, VAS), lasting duration and attack frequency were observed.ResultThe VAS score, lasting duration and attack frequency were significantly reduced after treatment in the two groups (P<0.01), and the reduction was more significant in the treatment group (P<0.01).ConclusionShu Feng An Shenneedling plus distal points selection can produce a more significant efficacy in reducing pain intensity, lasting duration, and attack frequency in treating cluster headache compared with acupuncture with conventional points selection.

Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;(1):34-35
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of mind- and qi-regulating acupuncture in treating postoperative gastroplegia. Methods Thirty-six patients with postoperative gastroplegia were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 18 cases each. The control group received conventional acupuncture and the treatment group, acupuncture at points for regulating mind and qi (Baihui, Sishencong and Yindang) in addition. Pre- and post-treatment Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) scores and gastric drainage volumes, and the number of treatments and the recovery rate were recorded in the patients. Comparisons of them were made between the two groups. Results There was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in the HAMD score in the two groups (P<0.01). There was a statistically significant post-treatment difference in the HAMD score between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in gastric drainage volume in the two groups (P<0.01). There were statistically significant differences in the number of treatments and the recovery and marked efficacy rate between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Mind- and qi-regulating acupuncture helps recovery and can also reduce the number of treatments in gastroplegia patients.
4.Study on 632 nm He-Ne laser therapy on pericoronitis
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;(2):119-121
Objective To investigate the effects of He-Ne laser on the treatment of pericoronitis. Methods 75 clinical patients with pericoronitis were randomly divided into the experimental group and control group.Local conventional therapy was given to the two groups. The experimental group was given routine treatment with He-Ne laser local exposure for 15 minutes every day, while the control group took no other treatment.3 days and 7 days later, pain and inflammation degree were recorded by three-degree pain scoring method.Total treatment effects were evaluated under a comprehensive clinical treatment standard. Results After 3 days' treatment,78.9% patients in the experimental group and 51.4% patients in control group felt their pain disappeared. After 7 days' treatment,97.4% patients in experimental group and 91.9% patients in control group felt their pain disappeared.Treatment comprehensive evaluation showed that there were statistical significance differences between two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion He-Ne laser treatment of pericoronitis has significant anti-inflammatory analgesic effect.
5.Safety and effectiveness of the reversed Less Invasive Stabilization System plates for elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(23):3706-3711
BACKGROUND:Less Invasive Stabilization System (LISS) has been shown to hold the same biomechanical strength to proximal femoral nail anti-rotation.OBEJCTIVE:To investigate the safety and effectiveness of the reversed LISS plates for senile femoral intertrochanteric fractures.METHODS:Thirty elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures were treated with reversed LISS plates. The operation time, incision length and total blood loss (intraoperative plus volume of drainage 1 day postoperative) were recorded.Physiologic and Operative Severity Score for the Enumeration of Mortality and Morbidity (POSSUM) and modified POSSUM scoring systems were used to predict the incidence of complications and mortality, and then the real incidence of complication and mortality was compared to evaluate the safety of reversed LISS plates. The clinical effectiveness was evaluated by fracture healing time and Harris scores at the last follow-up.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) The incidence of complications showed significant difference between predicted (46.05%) and real (13.3%) results (P=0.05),but the mortality did not differ significantly between predicted (3.93%) and real (0%) results (P=1).(2) The fracture healing time was 21-32 weeks, and the excellent and good rate in Harris scores at the last follow-up was 83.3%.(3) These results indicate that the reversed LISS plates are easy to operate, safe and obtain good efficacy in the treatment of senile femoral intertrochanteric fractures.
