1.Updated diagnosis and management of chronic orchialgia.
National Journal of Andrology 2016;22(3):195-199
Chronic orchialgia (CO) is a common complaint in urology or andrology. Due to its complicated pathogenesis, the diagnosis and treatment of CO are quite challenging. Based on different etiologies, CO can be idiopathic or secondary. Idiopathic CO accounts for approximately 50% of the cases and is probably associated with Wallerian degeneration in the spermatic cord nerves and peripheral sensitization. Secondary CO can be attributed to direct causes and its treatment focuses on the pathologic condition identified. The main methods for the treatment of CO include conservative and surgical strategies, among which microsurgical spermatic cord denervation ( MSCD) is an effective and minimally invasive option, while orchiectomy is but the last alternative when no other means is left.

Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1992;0(08):-
Purpose: To explore clinical therapeutic effect of Xue Niao Tai on primary glomerular hematuria. Methods: 80 cases of primary glomerular hematuria were randomly divided into the treatment group treated with Xue Nao Tai. and the control group treated with Mai Shi Bao, acertil, vitamine E and persantine. Both the treatments were given for 6 months and clinical therapeutic results were assessed. Results: The clinically cured rate and the effective rate were 72. 5% and 97. 5% in the treatment group, and 0 and 37. 5% in the control group, respectively, with significant differences between the two groups in both the clinically cured rate and the effective rate (P

We analyzed the surveillance data of measles from January 1999 to October 2000 in Jiangxi Province for the aim of measles control. The results showed that 3*!184 measles cases were reported from the province and 1 reported case died. Most of the reported measles cases were under 15 years old. The incidence of measles in age group between 7-10 years old was higher than that in other age groups and most of the reported cases having vaccination histroy were 4-10 year old children. Both the sporadic and epidemic measles in some districts existed at the same time and the reported measles cases extensively distributed in all districts of Jiangxi Province. The outbreaks of measles in some districts had affected the morbidity of measles of the whole province To prevent and control measles outbreak are the main effective measures to control this disease.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2016;39(4):315-318
Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world of non-infectious diseases.High density lipoprotein ( HDL ) plays an important role in the progression of anti-atherosclerosis.Recent studies have found that HDL can carry microRNA, and the anti-inflammation function of endothelial cell is achieved by the transport of microRNA.The specific functions of different HDL subtypes in the anti-atherosclerosis have been gradually recognized. At the same time, a series of traditional HDL anti-atherosclerotic functions also have been newly discovered, such as reverse cholesterol transport, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and the protection of vascular endothelium. All of these advances provide a new basis for the clinical application of HDL.

Objective To investigate the role of two isoforms of human progesterone receptor A (hPR-A) and B(hPR-B) in the development of uterine leiomyoma, their distribution and expression in leiomyoma were detected. Methods The tissues of leiomyoma and normal myometrium from 30 uteri, which were excised for leiomyoma, were used for the localization and quantification of protein of the two isoforms. Immunohistochemistry and Western blot were applied respectively. Results Both hPR-A and hPR-B were nuclear receptors. Concentrations of hPR-(A+B) and hPR-A in leiomyoma were higher than those in normal myometrium (295 796? 90 856,256 275?98 560; P =0 042, P =0 000 563). Both isoforms were presented in leiomyoma and normal myometrium, with a consistent dominance of hPR-B over hPR-A. More expression of hPR-A was found during secretive phase than proliferative phase, not only in leiomyoma but also in normal myometrium ( P =0 037, P =0 024). Conclusions The development of uterine leiomyoma seems to be related with the progesterone receptor isoforms, especially hPR-A.

Objective To denoise digital radiographic images well. Methods A technique was presented that used the Anscombe's transformation to adjust the original image to a Gaussian noise model based upon the wavelet denoising method and the wavelet-domain Hidden Markov Tree(HMT) model.Wavelet domain HMT models were used to determine the dependencies of multiscale wavelet coefficients through the state probabilities of the wavelet coefficients, whose sedistribution densities could be approximated by Gaussian mixture model. Results The proposed method could keep natural images edges from damaging and increase PSNR.Conclusion Quantitative and qualitative DR images assessment shows that the proposed algorithm outperforms the traditional Gaussian filter in terms of noise reduction, quality of details and bone sharpness.

Objective To discuss the value of laparoscopic biopsy of retroperitoneal lymph nodes in the diagnosis of diseases. Methods Six consecutive patients with enlargement of retroperitoneal lymph nodes underwent laparoscopic exploration and retroperitoneal lymph node biopsy between June 2000 and December 2002. One of the patients also underwent enterolysis. Results A total of 1~3 lymph nodes were removed respectively in the 6 patients, with a diameter of 0 5~1 2 cm. Pathological diagnosis included 1 case of primary peritonitis, 1 case of tuberculous peritonitis accompanying lymphoid tuberculosis, 3 cases of lymphoma, and 1 case of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. There were no postoperative complications, but 1 case died of MSOF originated from primary disease on the 13th postoperative day. Conclusions Laparoscopic biopsy of retroperitoneal lymph nodes offers a safe and effective alternative in the diagnosis of enlargement of retroperitoneal lymph nodes.

Objective To investigate molecular epidemiology profile of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in ICU ward. Methods Twenty-five MRSA strains were typed by arbitrarily primed PCR (AP-PCR).Results Ten different AP-PCR patterns (A-G) were found among 25 MRSA strains. Most of MRSA in ICU ward were A and B pulsotype. Conclusion Hospital acquired MRSA is multi-resistant to antibiotics.A and B pulsotype MRSA outbreak occures in ICU ward.

Objective To investigate the effect of propofol on the learning and memory function in neonatal rats under hypoxic conditions. Methods Eighty-four 7-day-old SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (n = 14 each): propofol + 18% oxygen (propofol-hypoxia, group PH), propofol + air (group PA), propofol +100% oxygen (propofol-oxygen, group PO), 0.9% normal saline (NS) + 18% oxygen (group CH), NS + air (group CA), NS + 100% oxygen (group CO). The rats received injection of intraperitoneal propofol 50 mg/kg or NS 5.0 ml/kg once a day for 7 consecutive days and they were exposed to 18% oxygen, air or 100% oxygen at the end of each injection. SaO2 and respiratory rate (RR) were monitored and recorded after administration. The rats were returned to the cage after recovery of the righting reflex. Six rats in each group were sacrificed 24 h after the 7th injection, and the brain tissues were taken to observe the apoptosis in hippocampal neurons. Morris water maze test was used to test the learning and memory function 2 weeks after administration in the other rats. Results RR was significantly lower and the escape latency at T1.2 longer in group PO than in group CO (P < 0.05). RR and SaO2 were significantly decreased, apoptotic index was increased, the escape latency was prolonged and the frequency of crossing the original platform was reduced in group PA compared with group CA, and in group PH compared with group CH (P < 0.05). Compared with group PO, SaO2 was significantly decreased, apoptotic index was increased, the escape latency was prolonged and the frequency of crosing the original platform was reduced in group PA (P < 0.05). Conclusion Propofol induces apoptosis in hippocampal neurons and decreases the learning and memory function in neonatal rats under hypoxic conditions.
