1.Value of CT Scanning in Diagnosis of Pancreatic Carcinomal and Its Clinical Significance
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1989;0(04):-
Objective To evaluate the CT manifestation of pancreatic carcinoma proved by patholoical results. Methods The patients were supine. Both plain and three-phase dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scan were performed. 100 ml of Ominipaque was injected at a rate of 2~4ml/s, with 5~10 mm slice thickness and interval. Results CT scanning clearly showed the direct signs or indirect signs of pancreatic carcinomal, which include: pancreatic mass, obstructive dilatation of the bile duct and pancreatic duct, the visualization of the abnormal large peripancreatic vessels, lymph node metastasis, etc. Conclusion Plain CT scanning shows clearly manifestation of pancreatic carcinomal and the surrounding tissue, and three-phase dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scan can clearly display the tiny changes of pancreatic parenchyma. Therefore it is valuable for diagnosis of pancreatic carcinomal.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(14):1093-1096
MRI scanning is an important technique to evaluate the olfactory system, special scanning parameters could reveal the fine structures of the olfactory pathway. Olfactory cleft, olfactory bulb/tract, olfactory sulcus and olfactory center are the main targets of the scanning. Chronic rhino-sinusitis, head trauma, congenital dysplasia and neural degenerative diseases are the primary causes of the olfactory dysfunction and have particular imaging presentations respectively. Besides indicating the olfactory pathway lesions, MRI could also present the etiology and the prognosis of the olfactory disorder.

Chinese Journal of Digestion 2011;31(2):95-99
Objective To investigate the expressions of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) in colonic mucosa of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC)and to analyze the relationship between them. Methods The specimens of colonic mucosa from 32 UC patients were graded according to endoscopic and histological grading standards, and specimens of colonic mucosa from 26 healthy controls were also collected. The expressions of COX-2 and 5-LOX mRNA and protein in colonic mucosa were determined using real-time fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry. The correlation between COX-2 and 5-LOX was analyzed. Results For UC patients,10 were class 1, 19 class 2 and 3 class 3 according to endoscopic grading, whereas 19 were class Ⅰ , 9 class Ⅱ and 4 class Ⅲ according to histological grading. The expressions of COX-2 and 5-LOX mRNA in active UC patients were 81. 25% and 53.13%, respectively, and were 11.54% and 19. 23% in healthy controls, respectively, with significant differences between the two groups (all P values<0.01). The positive expressions of COX2 and 5-LOX increased in accordance with increasing of endoscopic grading and histological grading. The levels of COX-2 and 5-LOX were 20. 08±1.17 and 37.83 ±1.48 in colonic mucosa tissues of UC patients, respectively, and 48.42 ± 1.69 and 11.28 ± 1.62 in healthy controls, respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups (all P values<0.05). A good positive correlation was found between COX-2 and 5-LOX. Conclusions The expressions of COX-2 is closely related to 5-LOX in UC patients. Both may play a pivotal role in inflammation of UC.

Objective To discuss the effects and mechanisms of tetramethylpyrazine(TMP)on learning and memory abilities of Alzheimer's disease(AD)mice. Methods The animal models of AD were induced by aluminium trichloride(AlCl3)intragasticly for forty days. Then,TMP was intragastricly administered for twenty days. The escape latency of the mice in water maze test was recorded;and AChE and SOD activities and MDA levels in the brain were detected by chemical eoiorimetrie method. The expressions of At3 and NF-κB in the cerebral cortex were measured by immunohistochemistry method. Results 1)TMP has markedly decreased escape latency in AlCl3 induced AD mice(P<0.05).2)In the brain of AlCl3 induced AD mice,TMP reduced AChE activity 19%[(1.37±0.13)U·mgpro-1vs(1.69±0.27)U·mgprot-1,P=0.016],decreased MDA levels 34% [(43.63 4-13.27)nmol·mgprot-1 vs(28.59±8.52)nmol·mgprot-1,P=0.023]and increased SODD activity 39%[(55.81±10.25)U·mgprot-1 vs(40.04±13.06)U·mgprot-1,P=0.026],respectively.These resuits showed significant difference with model mice group(P<0.05).3)TMP also decreased AB and NF-κB expressions in the cerebral cortex of AD mice models(P<0.05).Conclusion In AlCl3 induced AD mice,TMP can remarkably enhance the learning and memory abilities, presumably in relation to raise the activity of SOD,reduce the activity of AChE,the levels of MDA and the expressions of AB and NF-κB in the brain.
8.Research on Guilty Knowledge Test (GKT) Paradigm and Its Variation
Chinese Journal of Clinical Psychology 2000;0(04):-
Objective: To confirm the cognitive rationale of Guilty Knowledge Test (GKT) with a polygraph lie-detection test, explore the merits of GKT's variation as narrowing unclear range of guilty knowledge, and to discuss the problems of the commonly used scoring method which was introduced by Lykken initially in order to obtain more scientific scoring method in accordance with the cognitive rationale. Methods:40 college students were chosen as participants. The study was designed under non-motivational instructions and neutral materials of meaningless letter strings. Results: The lie detection accuracy of this research was 73% under standard GKT paradigm (namely, the tester knowing the guilty knowledge clearly) with the scoring method introduced by Lykken, which confirmed the cognitive rationale of GKT. The accuracy of reducing guilty knowledge range from 5 to 2 was 78.4% in the condition of unclear-clue GKT (namely, the tester only knowing the guilty knowledge in the range of five items) with the scoring method of height and vicinity. Conclusion: The accuracy of lie detection with standard GKT in this study is similar to top accuracies of foreign studies with the same pattern and verified the rationale of cognition for GKT. The innovative scoring method suggested in this paper bears merits in application and is worth further studying.

Objective To observe the protective effects of the mixture of ferulic acid (AF) and paeoniflorin on PC12 cells injury by FeSO4/H2O2 in vitro, and explorer its mechanism. Methods The cell injury model was established with FeSO4/H2O2 for 24 h. The process of the growth and morphology of the cells were observed under phase contrast microscope in vitro. The survival rate of the cells was determined by MTT method. The content of MDA and SOD activity was measured respectively by thiobarbituric acid and xanthine oxidase method. Results Compared with FeSO4/H2O2, the mixture of ferulic acid (AF) and paeoniflorin enhanced the PC12 cells survival rate and viability, reduced MDA content and increased SOD activity. Conclusion The mixture of 5~50 ?mol/L AF and 1~10 ?mol/L paeoniflorin exerted protective effects on PC12 cells injury induced by FeSO4/H2O2, which maybe related to free radical scavenging activity and lipid peroxidation process being inhibited.
