AIM:To explore if there is lesion in the auditory path in the brainstem of the Wistar rat with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE).METHODS:EAE was induced by guinea pig spinal cord homogenate(GPSCH),then the evoked potential in both EAE and control groups was examined. The HE staining and myelin staining of the auditory nucleus were conducted in order to corroborate the damage of the auditory path in the brainstem.Through studying the pathological changes using light microscopy and behavior changes of rats,we defined that the model was successful.RESULTS:The latency period of auditory evoked potentials of EAE rats was much longer than that in control group. The pathological pictures manifested that auditory nucleus were invaded by a great number of lymphocytes, demyelinations were discovered in it.CONCLUSION:The auditory path in the brainstem of the Wistar rat with EAE is suffered from inflammation and demyelination.

Aim To explore inhibitory effects and mechanism of engineering endostatin on growth and metastasis of melanoma cells in mice. Methods Melanoma cells(2× 106/mouse)were inoculated sabcutaneously to C57BL/6 mice. After tumorigenesis,endostatin(8mg/kg.d)was administrated to tumor-bearing mice, once a day ,twenty-one in all.Dietetic state and weight change of the tumor-bearing mice were observed and tumorous sige was measured during administration of endostatin. On 26thday,the tumor-bearing mice were sacrificed, subcutaneously tumorous weight was weighed and brain, lung ,liver, spleen and kidney were excised and sections were made to supply the pathological examination. Results Area under curve in the endostatin-treated group was obviously less than that in tamor control group(P∨ 0.01). Pathological study revealed that lavge areal necrosis arose in tumor and newborn cappillaries around the tumor disapeared. Conclusion Endostatin possosses strongly inhibitory effects on growth and metastasis of mouse melanoma and formation of newborn capillaries around tumor.

Objective To study the relationship between ischemic stroke and gene polymorphism of an-giotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), apolipoprotein E (APOE) and methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) among the population of Zhuang nationality in western Gui. Methods We directly sequenced ACE, APOE and MTHFR genes in 149 cases of ischemic stroke and 109 cases of normal people in western Gui. χ2 test was used to measure the relationship between gene polymorphism and ischemic stroke. Hardy-Weinberg genetic equilibrium test was used to evaluate the reliability of these data. Results In the ischemic stroke group, 62 cases, 22 cases and 65 cases carried II genetype, DD genetype and ID genetype in ACE. χ2 test showed no relationship between ACE gene polymorphism and ischemic stroke. In analysis of the polymorpism of APOE in the ischemic stroke and control group, no relationship between APOE gene polymorphism and ischemic stroke was found by χ2 test. MTFHR gene polymorphism was significantly related with ischemic stroke by χ2 test (P = 0.019). Conclusion Polymorphism of gene MTFHR but neither ACE nor APOE is significantly associated with ischemic stroke.

The adhesion in the gallbladder triangle is the most important factor influencing the conversion to laparotomy in laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC).The degree of adhesion in the cholecystic triangle is closely related to the difficulty of LC operation. With the reduction of cholecystic triangle adhesion, the treatment of gallbladder during LC will be easy and the rate of conversion to laparotomy will decrease accordingly. In order to investigate the causes of cholecystic triangle adhesion and its influence on LC,this paper reviews the current research progress.
