Objective To explore the role of miR-98 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) in the pathogenesis and development of childhood asthma. Methods A total of 43 cases of asthmatic children and 30 cases of healthy controls were enrolled in the study.Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated in both healthy subjects and asthmatic children in acute attack and remission stages. The expressions of miR-98 and interleukin-4(IL-4) and IL-13 mRNA were detected by real-time quantitative PCR.Results The miR-98 levels of asthmatic children in attack stage were significantly lower than those in remission stage and control group (P<0.01).The IL-4 and IL-13 mRNA levels of asthmatic children in attack stage were significantly higher than those in remission stage and control group (P<0.01).There was no significant difference of miR-98,IL-4 and IL-13 mRNA between asthmatic children in remission stage and the controls (P>0.05).Furthermore,a negative correlation was found between the expression of miR-98 and IL-5(r=-0.794,P<0.01) and between the expression of miR-98 and IL-13 mRNA (r=-0.804,P<0.01) in asthmatic children in attack stage.A positive correlation was also found between IL-4 and IL-13 mRNA in asthmatic children in attack stage (r=0.853,P<0.01).Conclusion The expression of miR-98 decreased in asthmatic children, and miR-98 might be involved in the pathogenesis and development of asthma.

OBJECTIVE To investigate and analyze the risk factors, clinical characteristics and prevention countermeasures of hospital fungal incfection in old patients with malignant tumors.METHODS To adopt investigation way to review and analyze the clinical data of hospital fungal infection in 165 cases from the old patients with malignant tumors.RESULTS Among 165 cases the infection occurred predominantly in lower respiratory tract(47.2%),and with urological tract being second(19.0%).Of 165 strains of fungi from 165 patients, the first was Candida albicans(55.8%),and the second was C.tropicalis(23.0%).CONCLUSIONS The causes of hospital fungal infection in old patients with malignant tumors are highly associated with the risk factors such as primary tumor, age, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, antibiotics, hormone, invasive operation, and so on.

Objective To assess the feasibility of double phase subtraction angiography with second generation (128-slice )dual-source CT in low dose Flash spiral scan mode for the evaluation of cerebral vessel, compared with dual-energy subtraction angiogra-phy.Methods 60 patients underwent double phrase CT angiography were divided into group A (n = 30,with Flash spiral scan mode),group B(n=30,with dual-energy scan mode). The signal-to-noise ratio(SNR),the contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR)and the av-erage radiation of double phrase subtraction images were measured in two groups, respectively. The double phase subtraction images quality were graded by 2 independent readers on a 5-point scale(5=excellent)in double-blind,according to various degrees of the re-sidual bones, the vessel displayed and luminal integrity, respectively.Differences between two groups were analyzed by Mann-whit-ney test and t test. Results The double phrase image SNR showed no difference to both two groups(P >0.05).The image CNR of arterial and venous phase in group A were higher than that of group B(40.89±8.89 and 40.27 ±9.90 in group A vs 35.28 ±8.43 and 34.89±8.66 in group B;P <0.05)respectively.There were no singnificant difference in the bone removal image scores of doub-le phase and in the vessel image scores of venous phase to both two groups respectively(P >0.05).The vessel image scores of arterial phase were higher in group A than that of group B(4.93±0.25 vs 3.87±0.97;P <0.05).Some internal carotid in the base of skull has not good luminal integrity in group B.The mean dose length product (DLP)in group A was lower than that of group B,with a 39 percent reduction[(226±5.69 )mGy/cm vs (368 ± 21.35 )mGy/cm,P < 0.05 ].Conclusion With the roughly similar image quality to dual-energy double phase subtraction angiography, the cerebral vessels can be assessed using dual-source CT subtraction angiography in Flash spiral scan mode and a lower radiation dose.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of regulating bone removal ratio in dual-energy cerebral subtraction angiography. Methods A total of 45 patients who underwent two phases dual-energy CT angiography (CTA) were recruited and divided into several groups by the value of bone removal ratio,as follows: group A (Ratio=1.6), group B (Ratio=1.7), group C (Ratio=1.8) and group D (Ratio=1.9,default), as well as group E (100kV Neuro-DSA).The image quality of dual-energy CTA was evaluated by double blind method according to bone suppression and integrity of the vessel lumen (1-5 points, 1=poor, 5=excellent, 3-5=satisfactory).The bone removal ratio dependence of the image quality was analyzed using the self-control method. Moreover, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR),contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) and image scores were compared with the Neuro-DSA subtraction among these groups. Results The overall satisfaction of basis cranii images that were executed by dual-energy CTA with different bone removal ratios was listed as below: group A 73.33%, group B 91.11%, group C 78.52%, group D 70.37%.The satisfaction of siphon segment and petrous segment reached the maximum when the value of ratio was 1.7,and with significantly difference (P<0.05).The SNR and CNR were not significantly different among group B, group D, and group E (P>0.05).Conclusion With optimal bone removal ratio, the single enhanced dual-energy subtraction image quality with flash dual-source CT is consistent well with that of conventional 100 kV Neuro-DSA subtraction. Thus, this method is recommended in clinical emergency cerebrovascular examination for the improved image quality, which can compensate the shortage of vascular defect in basis cranill.
6.Classification and Gene Features of Unverified HAdV in China, 2012-2019
Cancer Research on Prevention and Treatment 2021;48(6):581-585
Objective To analyze the type and gene features of 11 unverified HAdVs in China. Methods We downloaded HAdV genome sequences of 67 strains with clear genotypes and the HAdV reference genome sequences of 7 strains from GenBank database, analyzed them together with eleven unverified HAdV gene sequences and classified the species of each sequence based on the genetic structure, sequence similarity and phylogenetic analysis. Results Phylogenetic analysis results predicted the classification of six sequences: two of them belonged to HAdV-B and two belonged to HAdV-D (the gene homology were 97.8% and 92.8% in comparison with reference gene respectively), the rest of two sequences were not conclusive. Multiple sequence alignment was used to predict the species of five HAdVs. All of them belonged to species HAdV-B, the sequence similarity compared with reference gene was 97.9%. Conclusion Genotyping of the unverified HAdV genome from a genetic point of view predicts that seven strains might belong to species HAdV-B, two strains might belong to species HAdV-D and two strains could not be classified. The seven HAdV-B strains might be suitable for the treatment of osteosarcoma as oncolytic adenovirus.

Peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter-related infections are important risk factors for catheter loss and peritonitis. 2023 International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD) catheter-related infection recommendations have revised and clarified definitions and classifications of exit site infection and tunnel infection, such as cause-specific catheter-related infection, culture-negative catheter-related infection, refractory catheter-related infection, and infection- related catheter removal. A new target for the exit site infection rate should not exceed 0.40 episodes per year at risk. The recommendation about topical antibiotic cream or ointment to catheter exit site has been downgraded. New recommendations for exit site infection include clarified suggestion of exit site dressing cover and revised topical antibacterial agents as well as antibiotics treatment duration. In addition to catheter removal and reinsertion, new salvage options for catheter are suggested. The paper outlines the updated main content of the guide.
