Objective The patient started from St. Louis (U. S.), and reached Chengdu (China) after 3 days of flight(St. Louis- Tokyo- Beijing - Chengdu). The patient felt unwell, so he and the two relatives took a taxi to the Emergency Center of Sichuan Provincial People' s Hospital for treatment. The epidemiological survey showed that, the patient had been living in the University of Missouri in the United States, no pigs died locally, there were no markets for the living pigs, farmers markets, farms, and slaughterhouses, and he hadn't contact with pigs. But 4 days before the onset, he closely contacted with a schoolmate, who had cold symptoms. The pa-tient had never been to virus laboratory 7 days before the onset. Clinical examinations showed that, the patient had a fever (37.8 ~ 38.8℃), WBC 7.9×10-9 L-1, N 5.475 × 10-9 L-1, L 19.5% ;the chest X-ray shewed that texture increased and the heart shadow augmented on both lungs; the result of throat swab culture was negative. The result of virus nucleic aeid detected by Sichnan Provincial Center for Disease Control showed H1N1 influenza virus, suspected. Sichuan Province Health organization organized experts on the prevention and control of H1N1 influenza for consultation, and the patient was diagnosed as the first suspected H1N1 influenza case in mainland China based on the epidemiological investigation, symptoms and signs of the patient, the results of laboratory ex-amination, and the result of virus test. Confirmed by the experts from Chinese center for disease control and pre-vention and The Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China, the patient was diagnosed as the first H1N1 influenza case in mainland China.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Nd:YAG laser in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity. Methods:270 teeth in 153 patients were equally divided into two groups at random. The teeth in the experimental group were treated with Nd:YAG laser at 265.5 J/cm 2 (0.75 W and 10 Hz for 2 min) for 3 times with the interval of 1 week, those in the control group were treated with Gluma desensitizer for 3 times with the interval of 2 d. Results:The effective rate of the experimental and control groups was 92.59% and 49.62% respectively (P

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(05):-
Objective:To investigate the effects of washed platelets at low concentration(WPLT)on the proliferation of human dental pulp cells(HDPCs).Methods:WPLT was prepared from a male venous blood, cultured HDPCs were exposed to the WPLT at 50 ml/L,100 ml/L and 200 ml/L for 0.5~24 h respectively.Cell proliferation and prostaglandin E_2 production were examined by cell counting and Prostaglandin E_2 EIA Kit-Monoclonal respectively.Cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)mRNA expression was determined by real time RT-PCR.Results:WPLT at 50 ml/L promoted HDPC proliferation and increased COX-2 mRNA expression at 3-hour-exposure.That at 50~200 ml/L increased the production of PGE_2 dose-depandently.Indomethacin or dexamethasone reduced WPLT-induced HDPC proliferation, and this inhibitory effect was reversed by exogenous PGE_2.PGE_2 promoted HDPC proliferation at 5-100 ng/ml.Conclusion:WPLT may induce prostaglandin E_2 production, thereby promote HPDC proliferation.

Objective To evaluated the safety and complications of endovasdcular stenting for symptomatic carotid stenosis with surgical high risk. Methods A series of 11 vessels in 9 patients at surgical high risk were treated by endovascular stenting. The complications during the procedures and postoperative periods were analyzed within one to five months. Results All of the operations were successfully performed without any serious complications. During the follow up period (averaging 6 months), there were no complications of TIAs, stokes and restenoses. Conclusions The study suggests that endovascular stenting may be safe and effective for patients at surgical high risk, but further more study is needed.

Phloroglucinol is an antineoplastic effective compound from Dryopteria Crassirhizoma Nakai. In this study, mice implanted with leukemia P388 were examined under an electron microscope. It' was found that the leukemia bearing mice, which had been injected with phloroglucinol exhibited degeneration and swelling of mitochondria in the P38'8 cells. Measurement with an oxygen electrode showed that the drug treatment of P388 cells markedly lowered their oxygen consumption in comparison with the control cells .The results demonstrate that phloroglucinol inhibits respiration of tumor cells. Probably, the mitochondria of tumor cells is a target that the drug attacks.

Objective To improve the recognition to synovial sarcoma in spine by discussing the imaging features of the disease. Methods The clinical and imaging data of 4 cases (2 cases of male,2 cases of female) with synovial sarcoma in spine were analyzed retrospectively, which were confirmed by surgery and pathology, the imaging features and surgical pathology were mainly analyzed. Results All the 4 patients underwent conventional CT and MRI examination,3 of which underwent CT and MRI contrast enhancement examination. On CT plain scan,2 cases showed equal density,2 showed slightly high density. After enhancement,3 cases showed inhomogeneous enhancement. On T1WI,2 cases showed low signal intensity,2 showed iso-signal intensity. On T2WI,1 case showed high signal intensity,1 showed slightly high signal intensity, and 2 showed mixed high signal intensity. On Fat suppression sequence image,2 cases showed hyperintensity,1 had mixed hyperintensity, and 1 had slightly hyperintensity. On DWI,4 cases showed obviously hyperintensity. On T1WI enhancement,1 case had significant enhancement,2 showed inhomogeneous enhancement. Conclusion The CT and MRI manifestation of synovial sarcoma in spine has certain characteristics.Combined with clinical manifestations, CT and MRI are significantly helpful to improve the cognition and diagnosis of synovial sarcoma in spine.

Objective To investigate the selection of flaps for the reconstruction of facial skin defects. Methods A total of 40 patients with facial skin defects were treated from February 2011 to February 2015 in our hospital, and they were given different surgery methods ac-cording to the different facial skin defect sizes.Minor defects were primarily treated by direct suturing;medium-sized defects were treated by local skin flap transposition or island skin flap;and larger defects were treated by expanded skin flap. Results All patients were followed up for 1 to 2 years. All the flaps survived with good color and texture match. All the scars healed well which were almost invisible. There was no obvious deformity in the donor and recipient sites. In addition, there was no lesion recurred. Conclusion Select suitable flaps for the recon-struction of facial skin defects according to the face defect area could get reliable blood supply of the flap, inapparent incision scar and a high level of satisfaction.
