2.Antibiotics Application in Perioperative Period:An Investigation

OBJECTIVE To analyze the prophylactic application of antibiotics during perioperative period in surgical department and provide the scientific basis for management and rational application of antibiotics.METHODS The rational use of antibiotics during perioperative period was evaluated based on antibiotics selection,usage,dosage,the first time of application,treatment course,and the percentage of antibiotic application for cleaning operation.RESULTS All of surgical operations were used antibiotics.As for the first time of application,the use rate of thirty minutes before operation was 4.1%,but nothing used before operation was 73.2%.The treatment period after operation within 3 days was 8.1%.Among all kinds of used antibiotics,the third generation of cephalosporin accounted for 49%,and quinolones for 25%.CONCLUSIONS There are still some problems about prophylactic application of antibiotics during perioperative period in surgical department in our hospital.It is necessary to standardize application of antibiotics during perioperative period.

Obesity is becoming a chronic epidemic worldwide. Persistent obesity, in addition to triggering changes in skeletal muscle function and structure, may also lead to the occurrence of skeletal muscle atrophy, that maybe associate with autophagy and ubiquitin protea-some, interleukin-6, leptin, adiponectin, interleukin-10, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, growth hormone, angiotensin II, glucocorticoid, ad-vanced glycation end-product and myostatin, etc.

Conclusion This method is simplied compute,convenienced manipulate and strong comparable between groups,which is especially applied to clinical pharmacology experiments.
5.Poststroke Depression between Men and Women 2 Weeks after Ischemic Stroke in China

Objective To analyze the features of poststroke depression (PSD) between men and women after acute ischemic stroke in China. Methods A total of 1917 ischemic stroke patients were enrolled from the Prospective Cohort Study on Incidence and Outcome of Patients with Poststroke Depression in China. The incidence of PSD and the features were compared between male and female patients. The factors related with PSD of every gender were extracted with Logistic regression analysis. Results The incidence of PSD was higher in women than in men (32.9% vs. 26.6%, P<0.01). There was no difference in the stroke score between women and men (P>0.05). The score of Hamilton Depression Scale was higher in the women than in the men, and the features were similar. Logistic regression analysis indicated that the history of heart disease, history of mental disorders and stroke score related with PSD in women, while the age, history of mental disorders, smoking and stroke score in men. Conclusion The incidence and related factors of PSD 2 weeks after ischemic stroke are different between men and women.
6.Octreotide inhibits proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis in hepatic stellate cells

AIM: To investigate the effects of octreotide (Oct) on the proliferation and extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). METHODS: HSCs were isolated from normal male Sprague-Dawley rat liver by a combination of pronase-collagenase perfusion and density gradient centrifugation. The concentration of 2.5 ?g/L transforming growth factor ?1 (TGF?1) was used in all the experiment settings. Oct at concentrations of 0.01 mg/L ,0.1 mg/L,1 mg/L and 10 mg/L,respectively,or 0.01 mg/L Oct + TGF?1,0.1 mg/L Oct+TGF?1,1 mg/L Oct+TGF?1,10 mg/L Oct+TGF?1 were respectively added to the cultured HSCs. Effects of Oct on HSC proliferation and ECM synthesis were respectively determined by MTT method,-TdR and -proline incorporation,or radioimmunoassay. RESULTS: Oct inhibited MTT intake by cultured hepatic stellate cells and down-regulated -TdR incorporation,compared with control group. The concentrations of hyaluronic acid,laminin,collagen type IV in the culture supernatant and -proline incorporation in HSCs were decreased by Oct. TGF?1 obviously up-regulated proliferation and ECM synthesis in cultured HSCs,and Oct significantly blocked these actions. CONCLUSION: Oct inhibited proliferation and ECM synthesis in cultured HSCs,and elicited the effects of anti-hepatofibrogenesis.
7.Primary hepatic angiosarcoma: a clinical and pathological analysis.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinicopathological characteristics, differential diagnosis, and prognosis of primary hepatic angiosarcoma, and to review the literature.
METHODSTwenty cases of primary hepatic angiosarcoma were analyzed by gross examination and light microscopy. Immunostaining was performed to detect the expression of CD34, CD31, FVIIIRAg, CK, GPC-3, Hepatocyte,vimentin, PTEN, desmin, and CD117.
RESULTSThe age of the patients ranged from 7 to 86 years. Eleven cases were male, and 9 were female. All cases showed no specific clinical manifestations and imaging results. Macroscopically, the tumors showed diffuse multi-nodular or single nodular patterns with hemorrhage. Microscopically, there were various patterns such as cavernous vascular space and epithelioid hemangioendothelioma-like appearances; however, specific pathological diagnostic features of angiosarcoma still existed in all cases. All of the cases expressed at least one of the three immunohistochemical markers: CD31, CD34 and/or FVIIIRag. Ten cases had PTEN low expression. Ki-67 proliferative index was more than 10% in all cases. None of cases expressed desmin, CD117, GPC-3 or Hepatocyte.
CONCLUSIONSPrimary hepatic angiosarcoma is a rare malignant tumor. Detailed morphological observation and using various vascular endothelial immunohistochemical markers can help to establish the diagnosis accurately.

8.In vivo study on the body motion during the Shi's cervical reduction technique with 3D motion capture.

OBJECTIVEThe clinical effect of the Shi's cervical reduction technique for cervical spondylosis and related disorders has confirmed, however, there were few studies on the body motion during manipulation in vivo study. This study is to summary the law of motion and the motion characteristics of the right operation shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle joints by data acquisition and analysis with the 3D motion capture system.
METHODSThe markers were pasted on the head, trunk, left and right acromion, elbow joint, wrist joint inner side and the outer side of the inner and the outer side and the lateral upper arm, forearm lateral, anterior superior iliac spine, posterior superior iliac spine, trochanter, femoral and tibial tubercle, inner and outer side of knee, ankle, fibular head, medial and lateral in first, 2,5 metatarsal head, heel and dual lateral thigh the calf, lateral tibia of one manipulation practioner, and the subject accepted a complete cycle of cervical "Jin Chu Cao and Gu Cuo Feng" manipulation which was repeated five times. The movement trajectory of the practioner's four markers of operation joints were captured, recorded, calculated and analyzed.
RESULTSThe movement trajectories of four joints were consistent, while the elbow joint had the biggest discrete degree. The 3D activities of the shoulder and elbow were more obvious than other two joints, but the degree of flexion and extension in the knee was significantly greater than the rotation and lateral bending.
CONCLUSIONThe flexibility of upper limb joint and stability of lower limb joint are the important guarantees for the Shi's cervical reduction technique, and the right knee facilitated the exerting force of upper limb by the flexion and extension activities. The 3D model built by the motion capture system would provide a new idea for manipulation teaching and further basic biomechanical research.

9.Extra-bone joint appearance of 18F-FDG PET/CT in patients with adult-onset Still's disease

Objective To summarize the extra-bone joint characteristics of 18F-FDG PET/CT images in patients with adult-onset Still's disease. Methods Twelve patients with adult-onset Still's disease as confirmed by clinical and laboratory tests were enrolled in this study. The characteristics of 18F-FDG PET/CT images were retrospectively analyzed. Results Among the 12 patients, no patients were found with solid malignant tumors. Various degrees of high uptake were found in liver, spleen, bone marrow or lymph node. The hepatic SUV was 2.74 ± 0.89, the spleen SUV was 3.68 ± 1.24, and the SUV of thoracic spine was 4.36 ± 1.35. For the lumbar vertebral, the value of SUV was 4.26 ± 1.25. Lymph node high uptakes were found in 8 patients at different sites , including retroperitoneal , pelvic cavity and pelvic wall , inguinal bilateral neck , hepatic portal , axillary lymph nodes. The value of SUV was 3.76 ± 1.41. Conclusions 18F-FDG of AOSD has certain characteristics, such as diffusely uptake of liver, spleen, bone marrow, or lymph node, with or without pleural effusion.
