Acta Medicinae Universitatis Scientiae et Technologiae Huazhong 2017;46(3):336-340
Objective To explore effect of treatment of a non-surgical spinal decompression system(SDS) on neck muscle surface electromyography(EMG)of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR).Methods Sixty patients with CSR in Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in China between February 2014 and February 2016 were recruited and randomly divided into SDS group and control group, with 30 patients for each group. The SDS group and control group were treated with the SDS and general traction system for cervical traction respectively.Surface EMG telemeter was used to measure the surface EMG signals of the affected side cervical erector spinae muscle and sternocleidomastoid with the score of averaged EMG value(AEMG)and the median frequency(MF)as surface electromyogram signal evaluation indexes, and VAS and NDI as therapeutic effect evaluation indexes after a course of treatment. The data before and after the treatment were statistiacaly analyzed. Results During the first traction with tradtional traction or SDS,AEMG values of the cervical paraspinal muscle and sternocleidomastoi were significantly decreased and MF values significantly increased as compared with those before the traction (all P<0.05).After a course of treatment,AEMG values of affected side cervical erector spinae muscle and sternocleidomastoi of SDS group were significantly decreased as compared with those before the treatment, and they were significantly lower in SDS group than in ordinary group (all P<0.05);and MF values of affected side cervical erector spinae muscle and sternocleidomastoi in SDS group were significantly increased as compared with those before the treatment, and they were significantly higher in the SDS group than in the ordinary group (all P<0.05).VAS and NDI scores of the two groups after a course of treatment were significantly lower than those before the treatment (P<0.05),and VAS and NDI scores were significantly lower in the SDS group than in the ordinary group (P<0.05).Conclusion SDS traction is superior to ordinary traction in relieving pain, improving function, relaxing neck muscles and alleviating muscle fatigue.
4.Characteristics of fertility changes in women with advanced polycystic ovary syndrome
Journal of Chinese Physician 2021;23(1):142-145
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine dysfunction in women of childbearing age. It is considered to be a heterogeneous, multi-faceted disease with polycystic ovarian changes, hyperandrogenism, and endocrine. Clinical features such as dysfunction and metabolic syndrome, due to the presence of ovulation dysfunction, seriously affect the fertility of women with PCOS. With the increase of age, the fertility decline of females is mainly related to factors such as the decrease in the number and quality of follicles, the decrease in the number of available embryos, the decrease in transplant rate and the increase in abortion rate. The existing literature does not agree on the fertility window of elderly PCOS patients. This paper reviews several literatures and discusses the reproductive window problems of elderly PCOS patients.
5.Prevention of gestational diabetes mellitus in overweight or obese women
Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 2021;24(5):372-376
Overweight or obese women have a significantly increased risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). With the increasing prevalence of obesity among women of reproductive age, the prevalence of GDM has also risen. The prevention of GDM during pregnancy is particularly important in reducing the adverse pregnancy outcomes for both mothers and their offspring and decreasing the economic burden of the society. Lifestyle interventions (exercises, dietary), dietary supplementation, and pharmacological approaches are the main preventive measures. Exercise intervention and myo-inositol supplementation are effective in preventing GDM; dietary intervention and combined lifestyle intervention have some benefits, but the results remain controversial; probiotic supplementation and prophylactic use of metformin seem to be ineffective; the effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation is unclear.

Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2009;29(5):431-437
Objective To construct a recombinant adenovirus contained respiratory syncytial virus F gene fragment. Methods The F gene fragment was amplified by RT-PCR. Then the recombinant shuttle plasmid pShuttle-CMV/F was constructed. The iinearized pShuttle-CMV/F was transformed into BJ5183-AD-1 electroporation competent cells which contained plasmid pAdEasy-1. The obtained homologous recom-binant plasmid was named pAdEasy/F, and transfected into 293 cells. Then the recombinant adenovirus rAd/F was obtained, and it was tested by electron microscope, RT-PCR, Western blot and immuno-fluores-cence assay(IFA). The vires titer and genetic stability were also studied initially. Results The recombi-nant adenovirus rAd/F was constructed, which was visualized as typical adenovirus morphology under elec-tron microscope. The transcription and expression of RSV F gene fragment integrated in the rAd/F were con-finned by RT-PCR, Western blot and IFA. Conclusion The recombinant adenovirus rAd/F contained RSV F gene fragment is successfully constructed and lay an important foundation for the further vaccine study.
