Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(15):220-222
BACKGROUND: Disturbance of lipid metabolism is responsible for many kinds of diseases, and to screen safe and effective prescription for lipid reduction has clinical significance.OBJECTIVE: To study the influence of puerarin-arginine composition on lipid metabolism in rats.DESIGN: Comparative observing study based on animal model.SETTING: Experimental animal center and department of biochemistry in a military hospital of Chinese PLA.MATERIALS: This study was carried out at the Experimental Animal Center and Department of Biochemistry of the General Military Hospital of Chinese PLA between May and August 2004. Eighty Wistar rats were randomly divided into high dosage, middle dosage, low dosage group and control group with 10 male and 10 female rats each.METHODS: Rats took food freely, and experimental groups were supplemented with puerarine-arginine composition of different dosage (0, 0.93,1.39 and 1.85 g/kg) for observing the influence on rats.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:① blood parameters; ② change of body mass and utilization rate of food; ③ parameters of vital organs;④histopathological changes.RESULTS: From onset of the second week, body mass of both male and female rats in experimental groups were found obviously lower than those in control group. The levels of blood cholesterol in female rats were(1.63 ±0.20) and (1.29 ±0.23) mmol/L in 0.93 g/kg dosage group and control group respectively, and were(1.75 ±0. 13) and(1.31 ±0. 19) mmol/L in male rats, and both have statistical significance( F = 6.43, 6. 58, P < 0. 05).Fatty parameters of the three experimental groups were found obviously lower as comparing with those of control group.CONCLUSION: Such composition has been proved to be able to exert function in lipid reduction by decreasing body mass, and improving utilization rate of food and proportion of cholesterol and organic fat.
4.Cone-beam computed tomography analysis of the canal shaping ability with ProTaper Universal, ProTaper Next and M3 in preparation of curved root canals
Tianjin Medical Journal 2017;45(3):289-293
Objective To evaluate the shaping ability of ProTaper Universal (PU), ProTaper Next (PN) and M3 in preparation of curved root canals by CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography). Methods Sixty extracted maxillary first premolars were divided into two groups according to the canal curvature:10°-25° group and 26°-75°group. Then, each group was divided into PU group, PN group and M3 group and prepared with three instruments respectively. Canals were scanned by CBCT scanner before and after preparation. The efficacy of canal preparation was analyzed. The width of dentine removed was measured at three points (2 mm, 5 mm and 8 mm to root tip). The apical transportation indexes and the centring ratio values were recorded. Results PN group and M3 group needed less time in preparation and showed more efficiency than those of PU group in 26°-75° groups. One of root canals in PU group appeared deformation, neither PN group nor M3 group appeared deformation after 5 root canal preparations in average. None instrument was broken in three groups. PU group removed more materials at internal walls than PN group and M3 group at internal walls of root canals in 5 mm from the apex. There was no difference in the offset of the external walls of root canals. Compared with the offset of the internal and external walls of root canals in 2 mm from the apex, the apical transportations prepared by the PN group were less than those of M3 group and PU group in 26°-75° groups. Compared with the offset of the internal and external walls of root canals in 5 mm from the apex, the apical transportations prepared by the PN group and M3 group were less than those of PU group, and their centring ratio values were greater than those of PU group in 26°-75°groups. Conclusion ProTaper Next and M3 tested in this study are effective and time-saving in shaping curved root canals. The results indicate that both ProTaper Next and M 3are comparable to optimally enlarge root canal.
5.Molecular mechanisms of NK cell development and diseases associated with functional compromise of NK cells
Chinese Journal of Immunology 2015;(5):577-584
Natural killer cells are the key effector cells in innate immune response, playing the role in pathogen clearance and tumor immunosurveillance by cytokine secretion and cytotoxicity.Hematopoietic stem cells go through developmental intermediates to generate mature NK cells under the progressive regulation of extrinsic factors and intrinsic factors. In the past thirty years, great progresses have been made in the developmental progress, niches, regulation of NK cells and the relationship between NK cells and dis-eases.In this review,we will discuss in detail the molecular mechanisms of NK cell development and the diseases caused by functional compromise of NK cells.
6.Sclerostin monoclonal antibody in the treatment of osteoporosis
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(33):6021-6026
BACKGROUND:Sclerostin can negatively regulate the bone metabolism, and the sclerostin monoclonal
antibody can antagonize the negative regulation effect, inhibit bone resorption and promote bone formation. OBJECTIVE:To explore the mechanism and application progress of sclerostin monoclonal antibody in the treatment of osteoporosis.
METHODS:An online search of PubMed database, CNKI database, VIP database and Wanfang database
between May 2005 and May 2013 was performed by the first author to search the related articles with the key words of“osteoporosis, antibody, sclerostin, Wnt, SOST”in both English and Chinese. Articles related to
sclerostin monoclonal antibody were included. For the articles in the same field, those published earlier or in the authorized journals were preferred.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 170 articles were obtained after initial search, and final y 54 articles related to sclerostin monoclonal antibody were included for review according to the inclusion criteria. The
sclerostin can block Wnt pathway through combining with low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5/6, thus inhibiting the differentiation and mineralization of osteoblasts. By specifical y binding to sclerostin, the
sclerosin monoclonal antibody can indirectly promote bone formation and restrain bone absorption which has great significance in the treatment of osteoporosis. Meanwhile, compared with the other treatment method, the specific targeting of sclerostin and the binding specificity of sclerostin monoclonal antibody provide application advantages for the treatment of osteoporosis.

Gastrointestinal motility disorders are in high incidence in children.Due to moderate prokinetic effects, poor symptomatic responses and the presence of adverse effects, there is a clear need for new classes of prokinetics.Currently available drug classes in adult include antidopami-nergic agents, serotonergic agents, and motilin-receptor while there are less available drug classes in children. The aim of the present article is to review and address the present use of promotility drugs in the treatment of different gastrointestinal motor disorders,as well as the potential for future developments.
8.Study progresses in respiratory mucosal immunity and related diseases
Chinese Journal of Immunology 2015;(3):289-294
As the passage of environmental atmosphere entering the body, the respiratory tract suffers persistent challenge from foreign substances. The mucosal immune system of the respiratory tract is the main defense line against the invasion of pathogens, which needs to distinguish not only beneficial and detrimental materials but also resident and pathogenic bacteria.Because the knowledge about respiratory mucosal immunity is limited, the immunopathologic mechanisms of related diseases such as asthma, acute lung injury, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and respiratory infection need investigation. The study about the immune features of the respiratory tract not only contributes to the prevention and treatment of respiratory disease but also provides ideas for the development and design of new vaccines and medicines.
9.Effects of anti-tumor drugs on myeloid-derived suppressor cells
Journal of International Oncology 2013;40(9):655-658
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) play an important immunosuppressive role during the tumor development process. And the progression of many tumors are always accompanied with abnormal accumulation of MDSCs.Moreover, both the accumulation and functions of MDSCs could be affected by complicated factors. Therefore, how to effectively reduce the immunosuppressive effects of MDSCs in oncotherapy has become the focus of scholars.Recent studies show that anti-tumor drugs can affect many biological behaviors of MDSCs.
10.Relations between human papilloma virus infection and head and neck cancers
China Oncology 2000;0(06):-
Human papillomavirus is an oncogenic DNA virus and has more than 90 subtypes. High risk types (HPV 16, 18, 33) are associated with many kinds of malignant neoplasms of head and neck. The HPV DNA can induce mutations of p53, RB genes and increase cell transformation and over proliferation. The frequences of HPV positive are different in malignant neoplasms from different head and neck sites. HPV was more often detected in squamous cell carcinoma of oral cavity, oropharynx and larynx. In nasopharyngeal carcinoma, adenocarcinoma or lymphoma, the expression of HPV was quite low. The detection of HPV in cervical metastatic lymph nodes can improve diagnosis of primary sites.
