Objective:To study the correlation between C-myc express io n and clinicopathological characteristics of oromaxillofacial sarcoma. M ethods:C-myc expression was determined by SP method in 37 cases of sarc oma and 14 benign mesenchymal tumors in oral and maxillofacial region. R esults:C-myc expression was detectd in 22 cases (40.54%) of sarcoma and in none of the benign tumor. In sarcoma of gradeⅠ, Ⅱand Ⅲ, the positive r ates of C-myc expression were 16.70%, 30% and 66.67% respectively, and a statis tical significance was only observed in C-myc expression between gradeⅠand Ⅲ( P

0.05).Conclusion:All the results of the five measurement methods showed that the condyle was located in the center of the fossa with a variation in the healthy adults in intercuspal position.The CBCT image of the sagittal middle layer of the joint could show the joint space accurately and has an important value in the research related to the changes of TMJ space.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of DHA and its mechanism of apoptosis induced by DHA on human gastric cancer cell SGC-7901.Methods The survival rate of tumor cells was evaluated by MTT assay,cell morphology of apoptotic cell was observed with Hoechest 33258 staining.The contents of MDA and GSH were measured respectively by TBA and DTNB assay.Flow cytometry was used to detect the rate of apoptotic cell and intracellular variation of ROS level.Results After being treated with different concentrations of DHA,the survival rate of tumor cells was decreased in a dose-dependent manner and apoptosis was induced.The morphological characterizes of apoptotic cells were chromatin condensation and formation of apoptotic bodies.Intracellular MDA content was increased in the treated cells compared with control group,whereas GSH was decreased.After treated with 80 ?mol?L-1 DHA 5 h,flow cytometic analysis showed ROS peak and NAC could block the generation of ROS.Conclusion DHA can inhibit the growth of human gastric cancer cell SGC-7901 via inducing apoptosis.The increase of lipid peroxidation production and ROS may play an important role in apoptosis of the cells.

Objective : To investigate the clinical use of glass ceramic onlay in the restoration of the non-vital posterior teeth with computer aided design and computer-aided manufacturing technique (CAD/CAM). Methods : 70 patients with 75 teeth of residual crown were selected and restored with CAD/CAM glass-ceramic onlay after completely root canal therapy. Marginal adaptation, anatomic form, adjacent relation, contour appearance, color match were checked in 12-month follow-up. Results : Marginal adaptation, anatomic form, adjacent relation, contour appearance, color match of 73 teeth were satisfactory and 2 cases was excluded because of lost to follow-up. There were no significant differences in the number of cases which met clinical criterion A or B between immediate restoration and 12-month follow-up (P > 0.05), and more than 95% of cases met clinical criterion A. Conclusion The CAD/CAM glass-ceramic onlay in the restoration of non-vital posterior teeth can provide better effect of retention and esthetics in a short term observation of 12 months.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of simulated nitrogen-oxygen saturation exposure at a water depth of 50 m on the expression of inflammatory mediators including interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-10 (IL-10), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in the external auditory canal (EAC) of rabbits.

METHODSTwo batches of New Zealand rabbits were exposed to nitrogen-oxygen saturated at a water depth of 50 m. After exposure, the epithelial tissue in the EAC was analyzed using hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, and the changes in expression of inflammatory mediators including IL-6, IL-10, and TNF-α in the EAC of rabbits were determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

RESULTSAccording to the result of HE staining, more inflammatory cell infiltration, small vascular congestion, and mucosal edema in the EAC of rabbits were observed in the exposure group than in the control group. Additionally, compared with the control group, the exposure group had increased expression of IL-6 and TNF-α and reduced expression of IL-10 in the EAC of rabbits according to the result of real-time PCR.

CONCLUSIONThe nitrogen-oxygen saturation exposure at a water depth of 50 m can cause inflammatory injuries in the EAC of rabbits. The mechanism may be associated with increased expression of IL-6 and TNF-α and reduced expression of IL-10.
