For 10 years (1989- 1998) in the Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Hai Phong city, 53 cases of uterine rupture had been treated. Preoperative diagnosis was positive in 36 cases. 17 cases were not diagnosed before operation, among them, 11 cases had previous cesareen section. The percentage of uterine rupture in the whole country (67.9%) is higher than that one in the Hai Phong city (32.1%) with p<0.001.

43 cases of eclampsia had been treated during 5 years (1994- 1998) in Hai Phong Obst/Gyn hospital with an incidence of 1.5% total pregnancies, and toxemia of pregnancy was 9.12% pregnancies. 70% of the patients located in rural areas, primipara was 62.8%, manual laboures: 74%, eclampsia appears in every season but frequently in winter- spring: 67.4%. * Treatment: the principal treatment included: magnesium sulfate for anticonvulsion, vasodilators for antihypertension. Cesarean section: 13 cases (30.2%). * Newborns: 50% of the babies were under 2,500 g of weight, its death rate: 9.3% (focus on the low weight births). *Conclusion -Eclampsia appears in every season especially in Winter- Spring. -The appearance is in the manual labourers and in the countyside livings.

Spontaneous uterine rupture is a rare occurrence, but a catastrophic obstetric complication, associated with high rates of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Clinicians should make a prompt diagnosis and management in patients presenting with acute abdominal pain, hypovolemic shock, and fetal compromise. We present a case of spontaneous complete rupture of uterus during early labor in term pregnancy after laparoscopic radiofrequency myolysis.

Cesarean scar pregnancy, in which the pregnancy is implanted at the previous cesarean scar, is a very rare form of ectopic pregnancy. A delay in diagnosis can lead to uterine rupture, massive hemorrhage, and serious maternal morbidity. However, the optimal treatment is unknown. We experienced a case of viable cesarean scar pregnancy diagnosed at 13 weeks of gestation treated with uterine artery embolization and report with a brief of literatures.

Implantation of a pregnancy within the scar of a previous cesarean delivery is a very rare form of ectopic pregnancy. However, this type of ectopic pregnancy is considered to be a life-threatening condition because of the very high risk of uterine rupture and uncontrollable hemorrhage. Unfortunately, optimal treatment have not been established. We present here a case of ectopic pregnancy in the previous cesarean scar treated with combined systemic and local intra-amniotic methotrexate successfully.

Radiofrequency myolysis does not require general anesthesia and is safe and effective treatment for uterine myomas tried to women in women who wish to conserve the uterus. However, a controversial issue is whether radiofrequency myolysis is safe to women who desire future pregnancies. We report a case who experienced full term spontaneous vaginal delivery without uterine rupture after radiofrequency myolysis.

The development of myolysis has allowed number of gynecologic surgeons to treat myoma instead of hysterectomy or myomectomy. However not long time has passed since this operation started, little studies were conducted on this complication and side effect. Especially, there are not enough studies about complication and prognosis related pregnancy after myolysis. One of these complications, uterine rupture during pregnancy is not frequent, but fatal condition to both mother and fetus. We report a case of uterine rupture that occurred in early second-trimester who had been myolysis 22 months before pregnancy.

Uterine arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is rare but potentially life-threatening from excessive vaginal bleeding. All uterine AVMs reported to date have been found in the endometrial or myometrial layers. Here we present a patient with a subserosal type AVM on the fundus of uterus, which spontaneously ruptured.

A case of spontaneous rupture of uterine artery in the second trimester of pregnancy is described. Haemorrhage from rupture of uterine artery during pregnancy was discovered at laparotomy. This was an unusual but serious complication of pregnancy. This condition is extremely rare and one must consider it in cases of incomprehensible abdominal pain with or without haemodynamic collapse. A review of the literature revealed only four similar cases so far. This pregnancy continued till 37 weeks pregnancy and had a spontaneous vaginal delivery. Immediate institution of effective resuscitative measures and early surgical intervention were essential to both foetal and maternal survival.
