3.Study on the effect of Traditional Medicine hypo –uremia formula “Thong phong hoan”
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;480(5):7-9
93 cases of hyperuremia were treated by the “Thong Phong hoan”, a traditional formula at the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine. Among them, patients with hyperuremia and gout were 40-60 year old, occupied a part of 70%, 94.6% in male and 5.4% in female. 76.4% of cases had got 1-5 year duration of the disease, 12.9% > 5 years old and 2.1% > 10 years old. Consuming much of alcohol, meat and abusing tobaco were the common habits of studied male patients. After 30 days of treatment, the preparation exerted the effect of dramatical decrease of uremia, with good results 76.3%, medium 18.3%, bad 5.4%.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1991;29(1):72-75
Uremic pruritus is the most common skin manifestat, ion of chronic renal failure nnd cloes not respond to conventional treatment for pr uritus such as antihistamine. Although the pathophysiology of pruritus in uremia is uncliar, UVE3 phototherapy is consi(dered as the most effective and safest, therpy. We report two rases of uremic pruritus treated with LJVB. Initial doses were 70mJ, cm and 60mJ/cm. Pruritus was some relieved after two treatments and nearly completely disappeared after eight, treatments. Total doses were 840mJ/cm and 94G)mJ/

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 2001;19(5):533-536
We report two patients of generalized nonconvulsive status epilepticus (GNSE) accompanied by end-stage renal disease. Both patients were presented with impaired responsiveness and behavioral abnormalities. Continuous generalized epileptiform discharges were noted on EEG. GNSEs of our patients were responsive to benzodiazepines clinically and electroencephalographically. And they were controlled by short-term antiepileptic treatment and improvement of uremic condition. (J Korean Neurol Assoc 19(5):533~536, 2001)

Acute changes of the bilateral basal ganglia shown in the brain MRI a diabetic uremic patient have been rarely reported. We report a 52-year-old diabetic uremic patient who had neurological disturbances. At admission, axial diffusion-weighted images and T2-weighted images showed high signal intensities in the bilateral basal ganglia, and axial T1-weighted images visualized low signal intensities in same area. The underlying mechanism may be associated with metabolic as well as vascular factors.

Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1975;8(2):21-28
This report is 5 anesthetic experiences of renal transplantation performed from October 1972 to May 1973 at Central Operating Theater, Seoul National University Hospital. The major considerations about renal transplantation are the states of anemia, uremia, acidosis, electrlytes imbalance with hyperpatassemia, hypertension and immunological problems. In anesthetic management, the following must be considered: 1) Operative method. 1. Concomitant transplantation with nephrectomy 2. Transplantation followed by nephrectomy 2) Duration of operation 3) Degree of hypertension 4) Degree of anemia 5) Degree of pulmonary function 6) Intraoperative arterial blood analysis.

Korean Journal of Urology 1982;23(6):873-876
Pelvic lipomatosis is a rare condition characteristized by the deposition of an excessive amount of benign adipose tissue in the bony pelvis. Tile proliferating adipose tissue may compress the pelvic viscera in varying degrees, including the pelvic portion of the ureters. Occasionally, marked bilateral ureteral obstruction may lead to the development of uremia. Computed tomography is emerging as useful diagnostic adjuvants in the confirmation of pelvic lipomatosis. A case of pelvic lipomatosis studied by CT and conventional radiography is presented.

Korean Journal of Urology 1990;31(6):833-838
Multicystic dysplastic kidney is the most frequent cause of abdominal mass in the neonate, but its presentation is variable depending on the size of cystic kidney, state of the opposite kidney and associated anomalies. multicystic dysplastic kidney also represents a spectrum of pathology from unilateral multicystic kidney through segmental and focal multicystic dysplasia to bilateral multicystic kidney. Herein we report 5 cases of MCK with different presentation and histology, a bilateral MCK associated with horseshoe kidney, a large MCK with uremia, a focal segmental MCK with contralateral UPJ obstruction, a small focal segmental MCK with contralateral megaureter and a small MCK detected by ultrasonogram for localization of impalpable testis.
