7.The wandering twin: A case of a uterine didelphys with the obstructed hemiuteri in the anterior abdominal wall

Mullerian duct anomalies (MDAs) are congenital defects of the female genital system that arise
from abnormal embryological development of the Mullerian ducts. A didelphys uterus, also
known as a "double uterus," is one of the least common amongst the MDAs. Reported here
is a case of a 16 year old female with a uterus didelphys with the obstructed left hemiuteri
adherent in the anterior abdominal wall, and an endometriotic cyst on the same side. She
underwent hysteroscopy-guided vaginoscopy, laparoscopic left hemihysterectomy, left
oophorocystectomy. Cases such as these require careful preoperative planning and
diagnostic imaging for more accurate diagnosis and, hence, for the most appropriate surgical
procedure to be carried out. 3D ultrasonography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging have
been the most widely used imaging techniques. The goals of management are to relieve the
symptoms of obstruction and to restore the normal anatomy as much as possible in order to
provide the best chance for future fertility.

8.A variant of Herlyn Werner Wunderlich Syndrome

Herlyn Werner Wunderlich Syndrome is a rare congenital Mullerian anomaly that commonly
presents with uterine didelphys, obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis.
Presented here is a rare variant with contralateral dysplastic kidney with ectopic ureteral
insertion instead of renal agenesis. The patient initially presented as a case of recurrent pelvic
inflammatory disease who eventually underwent excision of vaginal septum with drainage of
pyocolpos. Postoperatively, the patient had urinary incontinence and was eventually referred
to Urology for further surgical intervention. The wide range of symptomatology and the
uncommon anatomic presentation of this case led to the delay in the diagnosis and the
consequent gynecologic complications.

9.Preliminary study on the occurrence of pten and PIK3CA gene mutations in endometrial cancer among Malaysian women

Genetic mutations in endometrial cancer (EC) have been extensively studied in the Western population but
not much in Asian cohorts. This study has demonstrated that PTEN and PIK3CA mutations are commonly
found in EC among Malaysian women. Following RNA extraction from 20 cancerous and 18 non-cancerous
tissues, the presence of mutations in 9 exons of PTEN and 3 exons of PIK3CA genes were detected using realtime
PCR, accompanied by High Resolution Melt (HRM) analysis. Sequencing confirmed specificity of each
PCR product. The mutations for both genes were detected in the samples with varying frequencies. Notably,
all samples expressed mutation of PTEN at exon 7 but none in exon 4. Further analysis demonstrated that
strong concurrent mutations occurred between exons 7 of PTEN with exon 20 region 1 of PIK3CA gene (90%).
Our data showed mutations are present in EC and not the non-cancerous tissues. Larger samples are being
collected to validate this observation.

10.Concurrent Utero-Vaginal Prolapse with Cervical Angiomyofibroblastoma: A Rare Disease with Distinct Entity

We report the case of a rare, benign mesenchymal tumour arising from the cervix. A 53-year-old post-menopausal
woman presented with mass per vagina. Examination revealed stage 2 utero-vaginal prolapse and multiple elongated
polyps seen at the cervix. She underwent local excision. Histopathological examination findings and the
immunohistochemical studies were consistent with Angiomyofibroblastoma.
