1.Intra-artery infusion chemotherapy plus radiation therapy for the treatment of invasive bladder cancer
China Oncology 2001;0(05):-
Purpose:To evaluate the effects of intra-arterial infusion plus radiation therapy as a treatment for invasive bladder cancer. Methods:24 cases of invasive bladder cancer were treated from 1995 to 2003. All were treated with intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy plus radiation therapy. Results:CR+PR was 91.6%(22?24). In the 22 cases with indications for total cystectomy, the normal bladder function was preserved. The quality of life and the survival period improved. Conclusions:Intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy plus radiation therapy is an effective method for invasive bladder cancer, especially for the patients who can not tolerate burden or do not accept cystectomy.[

Background and purpose: ~(125)I seeds implantation was mainly used in the treatment of prostate cancer. Recently, this technique has been used to treat other solid tumors such as lung cancer or liver cancer. The objective of this study was to evaluate the technique and effect of interstitial brachytherapy for intraperitoneal tumors. Methods: From February 2006 to January 2009, 20 patients with intraperitoneal tumors were treated with interstitial brachytherapy. The study included 7 cases with liver metastases, 8 cases with retroperitoneal lymph nodes metastases, three cases with pancreatic cancer, 2 cases with pelvic recurrence of rectal cancer. Results: All the patients received CT scan follow up 2 months after treatment. CR, PR, SD, PD were obtained in 7, 7, 3 and 3 cases, respectively. The total response rate was 70%. Conclusion: Interstitial brachtherapy is one of the effective treatments for the patients with intraperitoneal tumor. The adverse events are tolerable but the long-term benefits of this treatment method need further study.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the resistance rates of Gram negative bacilli and the distribution of ?-lactamases in hospital infections(HI) or community acquired infections(CAI) in Tongling.METHODS Antimicrobial(susceptibility)(test) was done on 356 strains of Gram negative bacilli isolated in Tongling from Oct 2003 to Sep 2004 by Kirby-Bauer method. The detection of ESBLs and AmpC ?-lactamases was performed by three-dimensional test,MBL by the double-disk synergy test.RESULTS Among total 356 strains of Gram negative bacilli,267 were with HI(53.9%) isolated from sputum of patients,89(34.8%) were(isolated) from CAI patients and urine. The antimicrobial susceptibility rates of Gram negative bacilli from CAI patients was significantly higher than that from HI patients, for Acinetobacter baumannii they were 1.5 to 3.0,for(Pseudomonas aeruginosa) were 1.2 to 1.6.No strains of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae were found resistant to imipenem.Among 356 Gram negative bacilli,77 strains hyperproducing ESBLs and AmpC ?-lactamases,the detection rate was 21.6%, 69 strains were isolated from HI patients, and 8 strains were from CAI patients. From strains resistant to imipenem had 13 strains detected MBL,the detection rate was 52.0%.All of them were isolated from HI patients.CONCLUSIONS The resistance of Gram negative(bacilli) is a serious problem in Tongling. The antimicrobial(susceptibility) rates of Gram negative bacilli from CAI patients are significantly higher than those from HI patients.Gram negative bacilli produce all kinds of(?-lactamases,) such as ESBLs,AmpC(?-lactamases) and MBL.

Objective To study the treatment for orthodontic traction of the impacted tooth with glass ionomer cement to improve adhesion efficiency. Methods A total of 46 orthodontic traction of the impacted tooth cases (46 bonded or-thodontic attachments impacted teeth pulled) were selected from March 2005 to December 2012 with traction of im-pacted tooth in our hospital of stmatology department, 46 orthodontic patients were divided into two groups randomly.Following closed-eruption surgery. Experimental group were bonded with glass ionomer cement, the control group with enamel adhesive resin. Compared the failure rates for the first time and after half months. Results The success rate of the first bond, the experimental group was 100%, the control group was 52%. The expulsion rate after half months,0 for the experimental group, the control group was 25%. Initial success rate and after half months expulsion rates were significantly different between the two groups (P<0.01). Conclusion Impacted teeth should be routinely applied glass ionomer cement bonded orthodontic attachments to improve the success rate and reduce postoperative loss rate, to avoid the second surgery.

TSCI have dyskinesia and sensory disturbance that can cause various life-threaten complications. The patients with traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI), seriously affecting the quality of life of patients. Based on the epidemiology of TSCI and domestic and foreign literatures as well as expert investigations, this expert consensus reviews the definition, injury classification, rehabilitation assessment, rehabilitation strategies and rehabilitation measures of TSCI so as to provide early standardized rehabilitation treatment methods for TSCI.
