Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world with high morbidity and mortal-ity. Clinicians spare no effort to look for effective prevention and treatment strategies for colorectal cancer. Research shows that aspirin plays a unique role in colorectal cancer prevention and treatment. However, the effect is associated with the course of treatment, users’ genetic backgrounds and some other factors. This review aimed to summarize the prevention and treatment effects of aspirin on colorectal cancer, the possible molecular markers for predicting aspirin effcacy and related mechanisms.

Prostacyclin (PGI2) is a member of the prostaglandins family and the main product of arachidonic acid metabolism by cyclooxygenase and prostaglandin synthase. PGI2 mediates cellular activity through binding to G-protein coupled receptor, prostacyclin receptor, therefore leading to activation of adenylyl cyclase, accumulation of cAMP and activation of PKA. PGI2 plays an important role in vascular biology such as regulating vasodilation, platelet aggregation, vascular permeability, and vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation. At high concentrations, PGI2 is able to interact with peroxisomal proliferator-activated receptor, a class of nuclear receptors, and modulate specific cellular functions such as angiogenesis. This paper reviews the research advances in PGI2 synthesis and signal pathway.

[Summary] The genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood leukocyte of the patient with thyroid hormone resistance syndrome and 14 members of his family.The exons 1-10 of thyroid hormone receptor β (TRβ) gene were amplified by PCR.The products of PCR were sequenced directly to detect the gene mutation.The results showed that 3 members of this family were confirmed to have the C→T transition mutation at nucleotide 1 303 site within exon 10 of TRβ gene,and the missense mutation results in the substitution of histidine to tyrosine (H435Y).The heterozygous mutation may lead to the occurrence of thyroid hormone resistance syndrome.

Effects of the extracts from Lapemis hardwickii on RBCs count and Hb content were studied in the both of mice model of which was made by acetylphenyhydrozine (APH) for hemolytic anemia and of by Chinese rubarb for Xue Xu (debility due to blood deficiency). The results showed that counts of red blood cell (RBC) and content of hemoglobin (Hb) of experimental group in hemolytic anemia model mice were higher significatly than that of control gooup in hemoly ticanemia mice. The content of Hb was increased in Xue Xu mice model,but no marked effect on the counts of RBCs. The study showed that the extract could have a better profective effect on red blood cells of hemolytic anemia mice.

[Objective]To explore the dependability between heredity and hallux valgus.[Method]A total(1 491) cases of family heredity of hallux valgus patients were investigated,the ages of these patients,ages of onset,ages of aggravation,hallux valgus angles were analyzed statistically.[Result]Conclusive family medical history exists in 69.48% of the(1 491) hallux valgus patients.There was distinguished difference between the patients with family history and those without heredity background on visiting ages,ages of onset,ages of aggravation;but no any difference between these two groups of patients on hallux valgus angles.[Conclusion]Heredity factor is the main cause of hallux valgus.It can influence only the onset of hallux valgus,but not the severe degree of latter.The patients with family history are earlier than those without heredity background about visiting ages,ages of onset,ages of aggravation.

Objective To establish the animal model with stress ulcer(SU) and probe the relationship between the gastric mucosal injury and lasting stress time,the dynamic structural changes of pH of gastric juice.Methods Twenty-four SD young rats were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group,45 min(groupⅠ),90 min(groupⅡ),3 h(groupⅢ)groups under water immersion restraint stress(WRS).The change of gastric mucosal ulcer index(UI),pH of gastric juice were observed.Results Acute gastric mucosal damage was induced by WRS,with the WRS time prolonged,UI increased gradually and pH of gastric juice remarkably decreased in experimental rats.UI was positively rela-ted with stress time(r=0.957 P

Objective To explore the correlation of preoperative guanylate cyclase C (GC-C) mRNA in peripheral blood with postoperative gastric cancer recurrence. Methods The preoperative blood samples were collected from 60 patients with gastric cancer (GC) before operation, also from 21 patients with dysplasia, 15 with intestinal metaplasia, and 20 healthy volunteers during the same period. GC-C mRNA in the peripheral blood samples was assessed by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR (RFQ-PCR). The association of peripheral blood GC-C mRNA expression with pathological parameters and gastric cancer recurrence was analyzed. Objective To observe the dose-effect relationship and side effects caused by epidural ketamine for patients after surgical intervention for knee stiffness (SIKS). Methods 80 patients undergoing SIKS at one knee joint under combined spinal and epidural anesthesia were randomly divided into 4 groups. Patients in these groups would receive analgesia respectively provided by femoral nerve block (FNB)(group C, n=20), FNB combined with 0.15 mg/kg epidural ketamine (group K1, n=20), FNB combined with 0.2 mg/kg epidural ketamine(group K2, n=20), and FNB combined with 0.25 mg/kg epidural ketamine (group K3, n=20). When spinal anesthesia was finished, the corresponding dose of ketamine was injected in patients in groups K1, K2, and K3 and 0.9% sodium chloride was injected in group C via an epidural catheter. After the operation, a catheter was left in the femoral nerve sheath and the solution of 60 mg ropivacaine in 30 ml (0.2%) was injected. All patients were performed rehabilitation therapy at postoperative 8, 24, 32, and 48 h and the same ropivacaine solution was injected in the femoral nerve sheath before each rehabilitation therapy started. Visual analogue score (VAS), active range of motion (AROM) of the suffered knee joint, and side effects were observed. Results There were 73 patients enrolled in the final statistic analysis. At postoperative 8 h, the VAS scores were lower in groups K1, K2 and K3 than in group C (P<0.05). At postoperative 24 h, 32 h, and 48 h, the VAS scores were lower in groups K2 and K3 than in groups C and K1 (P<0.05). AROM was larger in groups K2 and K3 than in groups C and K1. patients appeared psychiatric symptoms in group K3. Conclusion Small dose of epidural ketamine is a feasible method for analgesia in early rehabilitation therapy and the dose of 0.2 mg/kg is effective and safe.
