1.Research advance of PDSS2 gene on carcinoma

[ ABSTRACT] Prenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 2 ( PDSS2), which encodes the second subunit of prenyl diphosphate synthase, an essential enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), is almost expressed in all tissues and organs at different developmental stages of human beings.The abnormal expression of PDSS2 may result in many diseases through impacting the biosynthesis of CoQ10.Recent studies show that PDSS2 gene has decreased in mela-noma, gastric cancer, lung cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, and the degree of reduced level is closely related to the clinical features, which enlighten us that PDSS2 maybe a tumor suppressor gene involves in the development and progres-sion of carcinoma.This review aims to introduce the recent research progress about PDSS2 gene on carcinoma, discuss its roles and value on cancer research.
2.Ouabain and asthenospermia.

Asthenospermia accounts for about 30% of the causes of male infertility. Currently, most drugs for asthenospermia lack specificity and desirable therapeutic efficiency. An insight into the pathogenesis of asthenospermia is important for the development of specific therapies for this disease. The protein Na+/K(+)- ATPase α4 isoform (NKA4) presents in both mature testis tissue and the sperm tail, the absence or reduced activity of which may significantly decrease sperm motility. Ouabain is a natural inhibitor of NKA4, suppressing its activity by specifically binding the ouabain site in it. The hypothalamus and adrenal cortex excrete an ouabain-like steroid hormone called endogenous ouabain (EO), which may be associated with the pathogenesis of asthenospermia by inhibiting the activity of NKA4, affecting Na+/H+ exchange, Na+/Ca2+ exchange and sperm cell membrane potential, and eventually reducing sperm motility.

4.β-AR density relativity of porcine myocardial tissue and circulating lymphocytes and its significance

Objective To study β-AR density relativity between porcine myocardial tissue and circulating lymphocytes and clinical significance .Methods 48 porcines(seven months old),were taken a few of myocardial tissue and peripheral blood.Assay β-AR density with radioactive isotope to study the relativity.Results Scatter plot of β-AR density circulating lymphocytes and myocardial tissue showed linear Correlation(r=0.845,P<0.001 Y=0.002527X+0.726).Conclusion There was obvious correlation on β-AR density in circulating lymphocytes and myocardial membrane of pigs.Determination of β-AR density in circulating lymphocytes can reflect alteration of that in myocardial tissue.Therefore,we can use it to monitor and investigate self-induced and drug-induced β-AR changes.
5.Multicentric angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia:clinical and pathological characteristics of eight cases

Purpose:To study the clinical and pathological characteristics of multicentric angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia (MCD).Methods:Eight patients with histologic diagnosis of angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia (CD) were identified in the pathologic data base.The lymph node lesions were categorized as PC,Mix and HV types according to the criteria described by Frizzera. Patient with MCD had to have histology of CD within at least one regional group of lymph nodes and all underwent extensive lymphadenectomy.Results:The histologic features of 8 patients were six with PC,one with Mix and one with HV.Five patients presented with systemic symptoms. Three patients had splenomegaly and hapatomegaly. Five patients had local recurrence.Conclusions:MCD tends to recur and has a progressive clinical course with potential for malignancy ,and further study is needed to clarify the pathogenesis. Close follow-up and periodic surveillance are necessary to detect minimal disease and secondary malignant lesions. The patients with MCD should be candidates for multimodality therapy.
6.Detection of epithelial neutrophil-activing peptide-78 and VE-cadherin in pregnant patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome

Objective To investigate the possible correlation between obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)and serum epithelial neutrophil-activing peptide-78(ENA-78)and VE-cadherin in pregnant patients.Methods One hundred and two pregnant women combined with OSAHS,42 of which were with hypertension,and 36 healthy pregnant women were underwent polysomnography(PSG),and their apnea hypopnea index(AHI)was recorded.Based on the apnea hypopnea index(AHI),they were divided into mild OSAHS group(36 patients),moderate OSAHS group(34 patients)and severe OSAHS group(32 patients)Serum ENA-78 and VE-cadhefin levels were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and mean arterial pressure(MAP)was measured simultaneously.Results The values of AHI,MAP,ENA-78 and VE-cadherin in OSAHS with hypertension were significantly higher than those of OSAHS only group(t =13.46,11.65,12.47,13.36,all P < 0.01)and the control group(t =16.72,15.31,16.35,16.73,all P < 0.01).The levels of serum ENA-78 and VE-cadherin were gradually significantly decreased in the order of severe OSAHS group,moderate OSAHS group and mild OSAHS group(P <0.01).The AHI of OSAHS group was significantly correlated with MAP,VE-cadherin,ENA-78(r =0.75,0.71,0.68,all P < 0.01).ENA-78 of OSAHS group were positively correlated with MAP and VE-cadherin(r =0.64,0.67,all P < 0.01).Conclusions The condition OSAHS in pregnant patients is closely related to the levels of ENA-78 and VE-cadherin.Pregnancy combined with OSAHS may take part in the pathological process of hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy.
7.The changes of electrophysiology of the rat with cathartic colon and reaction to acetylcholine

Objective To explore the etiopathology of slow transit constipation(STC). Methods The model of rat with cathartic colon was established and the changes of colonic electromyography and reaction to acetylcholine(Ach) were examined. Result The frequency, amplitude of slow wave and colon reaction to Ach of rats with cathartic colon decreased markedly. Conclusion Long term abuse of stimulant laxatives could damage enteric nervous system(ENS) and accelerate the pathological changes of STC.
8.Determination of palmatine hydrochloride and berberine hydrochloride in Chinese Mahonia Stem from different habitats by HPLC

Object To develop a method for the determination of palmatine hydrochloride and berberine hydrochloride in Chinese Mahonia Stem from different habitats Methods HPLC method was set up, using Intersil ODS 3 C 18 column, the mobile phase was acetontrile water sodium laurylsulfonate (470∶ 530∶1 g), the UV detection wavelength was 265 nm, with a flow rate of 1 0 mL/min at 40 ℃ Results A good linearity was obtained in the range of 4 368 52 416 ?g/mL(r=0 999 9) for palmatine hydrochloride and 4 532 54 384 ?g/mL (r=0 999 9) for berberine hydrochloride The average recovery of palmatine hydrochloride and berberine hydrochloride was 98 97% and 98 98%, respectively Conclusion The method is simple, rapid and with better reproducibility for the determination of palmatine hydrochloride and berberine hydrochloride in Chinese Mahonia Stem
9.Estimating the genetic distance and protracting the phylogenetic tree by MICA-TM locus in different population

Objective To investigate the genetic polymorphism of the transmembrane region of the MICA locus in Guangdong Han population,and to protract the genetic distance in different populations.Methods DNA samples from 106 unrelated Han individuals were genotyped by PCR to analyze the frequencies of MICA alleles.The genetic distance was estimated and the phylogenetic tree was protracted by DISPAN Software.Results In total,5 alleles of MICA-TM were observed,they were A4,A5,A5.1,A6 and A9.MICA-TM A5 was the dominant allele(0.2877),whereas A4 was the least popular one(0.1321).From genetic distance and phylogenetic tree we made,the preliminary finding is that Chinese Hans may have migrated from southwest China to northern and southern China.Conclusion MICA-TM locus has high genetic polymorphism and obvious variance in different populations.Since the genetic distance could be estimated effectively through MICA-TM locus,it could serve as the genetic marker in human migration and evolution research.
10.Clinical application of modified Chaihuguizhi dried ginger soup in treatment of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency migraine

Objective To explore the clinical effect of the application of modified Chaihuguizhi dried ginger soup in the treatment of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency migraine.Methods 102 cases of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency migraine patients treated in our hospital from June 2014 to February 2016 were selected and randomly divided into two groups.The control group were given conventional western medicine; the observation group were given modified Chaihuguizhi dried ginger soup.The clinical curative effect, accompanied symptoms before and after the treatment, duration, degree of pain, the symptom scores of episode, and plasma specific viscosity, whole blood viscosity, hematocrit of red blood cell (HCT), serum 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) level, medication safety during the treatment of the groups were recorded and compared.Results The total effective rate of the observation group (92.16%) was significantly higher than the control group (76.47%) (P<0.05); accompanied symptoms, duration, degree of pain and the number of attacks of the two groups after the treatment, compared with those before the treatment, improved significantly( P<0.01), and the decrease degree of the observation group was more significant(P<0.01);compared with those before the treatment, the plasma specific viscosity, blood viscosity, HCT and 5-HT levels improved significantly in the two groups after the treatment(P<0.01), and the observation group was better(P<0.01).Conclusion The application of Chaihuguizhi dried ginger soup in the treatment of migraine of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency is more conducive to ease the clinical symptoms, with more remarkable curative effect, safely and reliably, which has high clinical reference value.
