1.Influence of nutrition al habit and physical activities on the disturbance of sugar metabolism
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;463(10):56-59
Research on 1060 people who from 20 to 74 years old live in Hanoi. 47% of them was man and 53% was woman. Result: eating and drinking habit has importance effect to the development of diabetes disease. People who eat much fat, drink much beer and eat little vegetable have higher risk of suffering diabetes to use little fat, don’t drink beer and smoke tobacco, and eat more vegetable. People who live in city eat vegetable, fruit and smoke less than suburban but they drink beer much than suburban. Body activity has close relation to the disease condition

2.Study on the eddects of "Tru ngua B" tablets in the model of allergic contact dermatitis
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2003;0(11):25-26
“Antiitchy B” tablets were processed from herbal medicines including prepared Rchmannia glutinosa, Angelica sinensis, Paeonia lactiflora, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, and Sophora flavescens, plus shells of Ostrea gigas and Ketotifen. Experimental study carried on mice with allergic contact dermatitis showed that “antiitchy B” tablets significantly inhibited dinitrofluobenzene induced allergic inflammation in mice ears epidermis

3.A More evidence confirming the state of iodine deficiency in Mekong Delta.
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;445(3):23-26
Iodine concentrations of water samples, vegetable samples and soil samples in Kien Thanh commune (KT) – Cho Moi district – An Giang province were compared with those of Duyen Ha commune (DH) – Thanh Tri district – Ha Noi city. Iodine intake of KT people was about 60 mg daily. 70.1% of urine samples had low iodine concentration. Iodine concentration in water, soil and vegetable in both communes were in the low range and had statistically significant differences. In ND, mean iodine concentration in the soil was lower than in DH (2.63530 mg/kg vs 3.0360 mg/kg). In the water iodine mean concentration was lower in KT than in DH (0.00127 mg/kg vs 0.00173 mg/kg) and in vegetable 0.96100 mg/kg vs 1.15770 mg/kg respectively

4.Remarks on 3 challenge cases of external endometriosis with immunohistochemical confirmation
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):80-85
Endometriosis is composed of internal endometriosis (adenomyosis) and external endometriosis. External endometriosis is a condition where tissues similar to the lining of the endometrium and is also found in the places outside the uterus. Endometriosis is one of the most frequent diseases seen in gynecological practice. It affects women in the reproductive ages. We report three of external endometriosis, which have difficulties in diagnosis. Three these cases show clinical signs similar to cancer disease, leading to errous diagnosis. The diagnosis can only be confirmed by histological examination. We analyze clinical features and histopathology of these cases with purpose is to provide clinicians and practicing pathologists the understanding of endometriosis.

5.Obesity - risk and our attitude
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):16-19
The obesity is growing in the Western Pacific Region. Currently, is have been not the major health problem in viet nam; however, the experts anticipated a rapid rise in prevalence in viet Nam during coming years, with high prevalence will be found in youngsters. The prevalence of obesity is highest in people aged 20 - 50 years. Women are more susceptible than men. The prevalence is increasing with the growth of the socioeconomic and different according to geographic, race and ethnic characteristics. Studies demonstrated that the criteria for obese classification applied for Europeans and Americans could not be used for Asians, especially for people from ASEAN countries. WHO introduced new criteria for this condition that can apply to this region since year 2000. To prevent effectively this condition, Viet Nam must implement active and appropriate measures right now.

6.Affinity of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate aldolase to glycosaminoglycans.
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;233(2):35-40
Fructose 1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (FPA) was recently known as new member of heparin binding proteins and a new method for FPA purification has been proposed (Thanh Van Ta et all, J. Biochem. 125, 554-559,199) by measuring FPA - heparin binding inhibition caused by various glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), affinity of the two isoforms, aldolase A4 and C4, to the GAGs underphysiological ionic conditions was estimated. Among glycosaminoglycans employd, heparin was confirmed to be the unique one that could bind specifically these enzymes. In the lower ionic strength, the affinity order of both FPA isoforms (A4 and C4) to these GAGs appeared as heparin> chondroitin polysulfate> heparin sulfate > dermatan > chondrointin sulfate A > chondroin sulfate C. Employing the same techniques, the affinity of regioselectively desulfated heparins to FPA was estimated. Our results indicated that, among the sulfate groups is heparin, loss of N-sulfate group reduced most significantly the affinity to FPA A4 and C4. This sugests that FPA recognizes a specific heparin structure including the sulfo-amino group at C2 of the glucosamine residue as the vital factor in this interaction.

7.A study on the indicators of the lung ventilation in the healthy children and children with the empyema
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):11-14
A lung function test on 452 school children (239 male; 213 female) from 7-15 years old, at 3 primary schools and secondary schools showed that: The relative figures of each age group were established. The value of lung function test increased with age. In the group with empyema (32 cases) the values of lung function test decreased. But the values of lung function test become nearly normal after 6 months of discharge

8.Role of preventive therapy for solid lesions of normothyroidic single-nodular goiter.
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):53-56
Normothyroidic single-nodular goiter is a common disease. Now it can be detected and intervented early so that its prognosis is improving significantly. The effectiveness of preventive therapy for nodular goiter by TST releasing inhibition with levothyroxin was examined in 110 patients. The results showed that levothyroxin therapy to inhibit the release of TST is needed for solid lesions. In younger patients with less than 1cm goiter, the result of treatment is more likely to be maximized, the lesions regress completely and the thyroid functions are normalized. For more than 45-year patients with more than 2-cm goiter, the result of treatment is poor. Use levothyroxin with cautions in over 60-year patients who have cardiovascular diseases and multiple nodular goiter.

9.The diagnosis of the thyroid nodules
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):13-16
The ultrasonography is a good method for diagnosis of the thyroid nodules: 250 random selected patients in B¹ch Mai Hospital were examined and have radiation iodine image, quantitative analysis of blood TSH, ultrasound diagnosis. Results: the combination clinical examination with para-clinical tests was very necessary, especially the cytological diagnosis. The blood level of TSH is insignificant value in determined diagnosis. It should consider the ultrasound of thyroid as regular test in diagnosis of thyroid nodule

10.Comparison of class switch recombination assays for immunoglobulin synthesis
Journal of Medical Research 2005;39(6):5-9
The second step of immunoglobulin gene alteration consists of somatic hypermutation and class switch recombination. 80th are regulated by activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID). Methods: Study on possible application of class switch recombination assays for immunoglobulin gene alteration via AID. Cell based assays using AID B lymphocyte and NIH3T3 cell carrying switch substrate; gene transfer using retrovirus system; FACS analysis; PCR and ELISA. Results: DNA sequencing for S region and gamma1CT are the most sensitive and accurate assays. However, gamma1CT assay seemed to be more reliable and applicable. Others are accurate assays but less applicable. Conclusion: gamma1CT determination is the best class switch recombination assay for immunoglobulin gene alteration via AID.
