Acid sphingomyelinase (ASMase),an important enzyme for production of ceramide has been reported to be involved in the regulation of cell and organ functions and has been implicated in the development of different diseases such as diabetes, hearty disease, liver and kidney diseases.Diabetic nephropathy is a common complication of diabetes. It was found that ASMase has been closely associated with the development renal disease.Hence,it is of great importance to study the impact of ASMase on renal diseases.
2.Indicating significance of Ki-67 in therapy and prognosis of breast cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(5):375-377
Ki-67,as one kind of nucleoantigen expressed in proliferated cells, has positive correlation with clinical stage, nodal status and Her-2,while negative correlation with estrogen receptor(ER). High Ki-67 expression influnced by endocrine therapy and chemotherapy indicates good proliferative activity. Ki-67, also as an independent prognostic factor of early breast cancer, provides prognostic information combined with other biologic markers. Ki-67 gives additional information breast cancer prognosis staging.

5.Protective effects of neuroglobin in arsenic-induced nervous system injury
Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2017;36(4):309-312
Neuroglobin (Ngb) is a globin with high affinity to oxygen and is specifically expressed in the brain of vertebrates. Many studies show that Ngb's expressions change and it may have protective effects in nervous system injury, such as ischemia/hypoxia.Mechanisms of the Ngb's protective role include free radicals scavenging,anti-oxidative stress,as well as anti-apoptosis.Ngb can also play a transduction signal to increase downstream phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase/protein serine threonine kinase (PI3K/AKT) signal activities.Arsenic exposure can lead to oxidative stress and apoptosis,Ngb may play a protective role in nervous system injury. In this article,we summarized expression changes and protective role of neuroglobin in nervous system injuries, and out looked the protective role of neuroglobin in endemic arsenic poisoning induced nervous system injury.

Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;35(7):850-852
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture at phenomaxillary ganglia in treating allergic rhinitis. Method Sixty patients with moderate-severe persistent allergic rhinitis were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 cases in each group. The control group was intervened by oral administration of Loratadine plus Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray, while the treatment group was by acupuncture at phenomaxillary ganglia in addition to the medicines given to the control group. Before treatment and after 4-week treatment, the peripheral blood immunoglobulin E (IgE) level and Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire (RQLQ) were observed in the two groups, and the clinical efficacies were compared.Result The IgE levels and RQLQ scores were significantly changed after treatment in both groups (P<0.01). After treatment, the IgE level and RQLQ score of the treatment group were significantly different from that of the control group (P<0.01,P<0.05). The total effective rate was 96.7% in the treatment group versus 83.3% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture at phenomaxillary ganglia is an effective method in treating allergic rhinitis.
7.The protective effect of JNK inhibitor SP600125 on hippocampal neurons in rats with status epilepsy
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2014;(11):970-973
Objective To explore the protective effect and probable mechanism of JNK inhibitor SP600125 on hippocampal neurons in rats with status epilepsy following lithium?pilocarpine. Methods 48 Wistar rats,in accordance with the random number table, were divided into control, status epilepticus ( SE) and JNK in?hibitor SP600125 group ( SP ) . HE staining and fluorescent TUNEL method were used to observe pathological changes and neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampal area of rats in each group. Western blot was applied to detect the phosphorylation expression of JNK and its downstream effector molecule c?JUN in hippocampal tissues of rats in each group. Results Compared with control group, neuronal loss and apoptosis in CA3 area of hippocampus in SE group were significant (percentage of TUNEL positive cells (26.34±3.04)%, P<0.05). The mortality of rats was significantly decreased and neuronal loss and apoptosis were obviously reduced in SP group than in SE group ( mor?tality in SP and SE group :6.25%,37.5% respectively, P<0.05). Meanwhile, the expression levels of phospho?JNK and phospho?c?JUN were significantly increased in hippocampus of rats in SE group ( The relative OD values respectively 0.447±0.025,0.552±0.035, P<0.05 compared with Control group). After treated with SP600125 in SP group, the phosphorylation levels of JNK and c?JUN were obviously decreased ( The relative OD values respec?tively 0.211±0.016,0.237±0.028, P<0.05 compared with SE group). Conclusion JNK inhibitor SP600125 may play an important protective effect on neurons in the rat hippocampus after status epilepticus through inhibition of JNK and c?JUN phosphorylation.
8.Hyperglycemia and outcomes of patients with ischemic stroke after reperfusion therapy
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2021;29(1):32-37
Hyperglycemia is considered to be a predictor of death, poor functional outcome, symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage, and increased infarct volume in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Many studies have used parameters such as standard deviation, coefficient of variation, blood glucose level, stress hyperglycemia ratio, and glucose/glycated hemoglobin ratio to express hyperglycemia, and then study the relationship between hyperglycemia and stroke outcome. In patients with stroke receiving intravenous thrombolysis, hyperglycemia is closely associated with symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage, poor neurological outcome, and lower vascular recanalization rate. In patients with stroke undergoing endovascular mechanical thrombectomy, hyperglycemia is closely associated with poor long-term outcome, increased mortality, and increased infarct volume. However, whether hyperglycemia will affect the effect of reperfusion therapy in acute ischemic stroke remains controversial. The possible mechanisms of hyperglycemia leading to poor outcomes after reperfusion therapy in patients with ischemic stroke include inhibition of vasodilation, reduction of plasma fibrinolytic activity, destruction of the blood-brain barrier, promotion of oxidative stress, and reduction of ischemic penumbra volume. Studies have shown that for stroke patients with hyperglycemia, intensive blood glucose control does not bring significant benefits. Therefore, the blood glucose control program of patients with acute ischemic stroke and hyperglycemia needs further study and discussion.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2023;21(1):51-58
Objective: To observe the effects of heat-sensitive moxibustion plus Chinese medication on serum inflammatory indicators, T-lymphocyte subsets, and serum microRNAs in patients with multiple myeloma after chemotherapy. Methods: Eighty-two patients with multiple myeloma who had terminated chemotherapy were divided into an observation group and a control group using the random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group received symptomatic treatment of Western medicine plus oral Chinese medication Yi Shen Qiang Gu Tang (decoction for benefiting the kidney to strengthen bones), and the observation group received additional heat-sensitive moxibustion treatment. After the intervention, the following measures were observed, including clinical efficacy, symptom scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and tumor patient's quality of life (QOL) scores [including Karnofsky performance status (KPS) score, performance scale (PS) score, and tumor-specific QOL questionnaire score] alongside the serum inflammatory indicators [tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), C-reactive protein (CRP), and interleukin-6 (IL-6)], and the relative expression levels of T-lymphocyte subsets (CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+) and serum microRNA-302 (miR-302), microRNA-140-5p (miR-140-5p), and microRNA-125a (miR-125a). Results: After treatment, the total effective rate was 85.4% in the observation group, higher than 68.3% in the control group (P<0.05). The observation group was superior to the control group in improving the serum inflammatory factor levels, TCM symptom scores, tumor patient's QOL scores, and the relative expression levels of T-lymphocyte subsets and serum miR-302, miR-140-5p, and miR-125a, and the between-group differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Heat-sensitive moxibustion plus Chinese medication can lower the serum inflammatory factor levels, strengthen immune function, mitigate TCM symptoms, enhance QOL, and raise the expression levels of serum miR-125a, miR-140-5p, and miR-302 in multiple myeloma patients after chemotherapy.
