Sulfogalactosylglycerolipid (SGG) is the main glycolipid in male mammalian germ cells, which is selectively and highly expressed in mammalian testes and helps form the lipid bilayer of cell membrane. In the process of spermatogenesis, SGG is involved in the meiosis of spermiocytes. Either deficiency or accumulation of SGG will lead to male infertility. SGG homeostasis in the testis is the premise of normal spermatogenesis. In the process of sperm-zona binding, SGG becomes a component of lipid raft and provides a platform for signal transduction. The SGG binding protein plays a role in sperm-egg recognition and membrane fusion. SGG has a great research value and application prospect in male reproduction.

2.Germ cell membrane lipids in spermatogenesis.

National Journal of Andrology 2016;22(5):450-454
Spermatogenesis is a complex developmental process in which a diploid progenitor germ cell transforms into highly specialized spermatozoa. During spermatogenesis, membrane remodeling takes place, and cell membrane permeability and liquidity undergo phase-specific changes, which are all associated with the alteration of membrane lipids. Lipids are important components of the germ cell membrane, whose volume and ratio fluctuate in different phases of spermatogenesis. Abnormal lipid metabolism can cause spermatogenic dysfunction and consequently male infertility. Germ cell membrane lipids are mainly composed of cholesterol, phospholipids and glycolipids, which play critical roles in cell adhesion and signal transduction during spermatogenesis. An insight into the correlation of membrane lipids with spermatogenesis helps us to better understand the mechanisms of spermatogenesis and provide new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility.

Chinese Medical Ethics 2015;(1):47-49
Objective:To analyze that if the quality of ethics review is closely related to the protection of human subjects' right and interest. Methods:This article has analyzed all the issues raised by local Ethics Committee in the process of review in recent two years since guideline of ethical review of drug clinical trials was published, summed up the most common problems occurred in protocols and informed consents. Results:Total 94 new drug or medical device clinical trial projects were reviewed by the local ethics committee, among which 29 projects were ap-proved through regular full board meeting, the approval rate in the initial review was 31%. The most common prob-lems in protocols include: the research backgrounds, design, and risk-benefit ratio; Main issues raised on in-formed consent focused on the contents, language and signature terms. Conclusions:The protection of subjects needs more improvement of capability of investigator, sponsor, drug clinical trial institution and the ethics commit-tee.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2006;26 Suppl():55-58
OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Fructus Aurantii Immaturus (FAI) on the electro-activity of small intestines in rats, and evaluate the interrelations between the FAI regulating effect and choecystokinin (CCK) and somatostatin (SS).
METHODSMigrating myoelectric complex (MMC) cyclic period, the ratio of the active time to the cyclic period, and the number of the fast wave within the active time per minute were observed between FAI and the normal saline group by external alimentary canal electrodes; the CCK contents in dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus (DMH), ventromedia hypothalamic nucleus (VMH), lateral hypothalamus area (LHA) and SS in VMH, LHA, paraventricular nucleus (PVN) by using immuno-chemistry technique and micro-image pattern quantitative analysis and scanning system.
RESULTSThe MMC cyclic period shortened, the ratio of the active time to the cyclic period increased and the number of the fast wave within the active time per minute increased in the FAI group, which showed significant difference from the normal saline group; CCK positive neurons were reduced in the areas of DMH, VMH and LHA, SS positive neurons were increased in the areas of VMH, LHA and PVN in the FAI gioup, which showed significant difference compared with the normal saline and the blank control group.
CONCLUSIONFAI can stimulate the electro-reactivity of small intestines. The stimulative effect of FAI might be related to CCK and SS in hypothamus.

Objective To study the molecular mechanism of renal injury of chronic arsenic poisoning rats induced by the expression of cysteine caspase-8 and P53 in renal proximal tubular epithelial cells. Methods Sixty healthy SD rats were divided into three groups,high-,low-dose group, and control group,n =20 in each group. The rats in high and low dose groups were treated with As203 through drinking water,10.0 and 0.4 mg/kg,respectively.The control rats were given distilled water.Four months later, serum and urinary arsenic level was determined, and kidney specimens were taken. The expression of cysteine caspase-8 and P53 in renal proximal tubular epithelial cells was detected by histological technique-HE staining and SABC immunohistochemistry. In addition, cell number counting and image analyses were used in the study. Results The number of caspase-8 positive cells of renal proximal tubule in control group,low-and high-dose group was 3.33±1.32,31.14±8.02 and 46.50±7.20 cell number/visual fields, respectively, which was increased with dose increasing(all P <0.05);the average gray value was 151.34±6.40,133.58±4.63 and 128.34±16.28,respectively,decreased with dose increasing(all P <0.05).The number of P53 positive cells was 3.17±1.59,26.29±4.23 and 47.00±6.22 cell number/visual fields, respectively, increased with dose increasing (all P < 0.05) ; the average gray value was 142.54±8.06,121.48±5.68 and 101.89±6.35,respectively,decreased with dose increasing (all P < 0.05).Conclusion The increase of caspase-8 and P53 positive cells is one of the molecular mechanisms of renal injury induced by arsenic poisoning.

Actinobacillus succinogenes A3 was mutagenized by ultra high hydrostatic pressure for improving the production ability of succinic acid. The effects of pressure, rate of pressure changes and growth periods on the lethality rate of the strain were investigated. The strain in stationary phase was mutagenized at 200 MPa with the pressure changes at the rate of 50 MPa/min.As a result,a mutation strain Actinobacillus succinogenes B19 was obtained, and the concentration of succinic acid could reach 32.2 g/L,which was 17.9%higher than that of the original strain, and in the meanwhile the concentration of acetic acid was decreased by 11.5%.After six generation, the mutant also has good stability of descendiblity for succinic acid production.

ObjectiveTo investigate the value of MRI in the diagnosis of cavernous transformation of the portal vein (CTPV).MethodsPlain MRI,dynamic enhanced and (or) dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography(DCE-MRA) findings in 30 patients of clinical-proved CTPV were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsAmong 30 CTPV patients on plain MRI,obliteration of main and (or) branched portal vein were found, and mass-like or reticular abnormal soft-tissue signals were around the vein, which were produced by collateral vessels. On dynamic enhanced MRI,abnormal hepatic perfusion during arterial phase and abnormal enhanced collateral veins during portal phase could be seen. The above signs became more obvious on DCE-MRA.ConclusionsMRI and DCE-MRA can clearly visualize the anatomical features of CTPV.It is important and can provide the reliable evidence for planning properly therapeutic protocol to recognize and directly evaluate the CTPV.
