OBJECTIVE: To explore the inner quality of two kinds of single decoction solution. METHODS: The methods of HPLC, UV, TLC etc. were used for the qualitative and quantitative analysis. RESULTS: The contents of main components in single decoction solution of herbs in granule form were higher than those in slice form- CONCLUSION: The decocting rate of herbs in granule form is higher. It is worth popularizing.

The China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) designed and applied the Traditional Chi-nese Medicine (TCM) Medical Treatment and Clinical Scientific Research Information Sharing System based on Hepatitis B-associated Liver Failure (Gan-Wen ) . The network and hardware environment were built . And the electronic medical record system which fits for TCM treatment and research was also established. The system is interfaced to various clinic information systems. Standard TCM terminology database and medical record templates were built. The TCM clinical multidimensional data warehouse was constructed to achieve data mining and im-prove TCM research ability and efficiency .

Objective To evaluate the effect of dezocine on the c-fos expression in neurons in the midbrain periaqueductal gray in a rat model of incisional pain. Methods Thirty-six pathogen-free healthy adult male Wistar rats, weighing 250-300 g,were divided into 3 groups (n =12 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),incisional pain group (group I) and dezocine group (group D).A 1 cm longitudinal incision was made through skin, fascia and muscle of the plantar aspect of the right hind paw in sevoflurane-anesthetized rats.In group C,the rats were only anesthetized and underwent no operation. In group I,0.9% sodium chloride solution 2 ml was injected via the caudal vein at 15 min before the model was established. In group D,dezocine 1 mg/kg (diluted to 2 ml in 0.9% sodium chloride solution) was injected via the caudal vein at 15 min before the model was established. At 24 h before operation (T0) and 2,6 and 24 h after operation (T1-3),the mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) and cumulative pain score were measured. After measurement of the pain threshold at T3,the whole brain was removed for determination of the c-fos expression in neurons in the midbrain periaqueductal gray by immunohistochemistry. Results Compared with group C,the MWT was significantly decreased, cumulative pain scores were increased, and the expression of c-fos in neurons in the midbrain periaqueductal gray was upregulated at T1-3 in I and D groups (P<0.05).Compared with group I,the MWT was significantly increased, the cumulative pain score was decreased, and the expression of c-fos protein in neurons in the midbrain periaqueductal gray was down-regulated at T1.3 in group D (P<0.05).Conclusion Dezocine mitigates incisional pain through inhibiting the expression of c-fos in neurons in the midbrain periaqueductal gray of rats.

AIM: To investigate the dose and time-effect relationship of 7 antimicrobial agents in experimental treatment of vibrio vulnificus infection in mice. METHODS: Vibrio vulnificus ( 6.0?10 11 CFU?L -1) was introduced intraperitoneally into the right abdominal cavity. After 1 h, 7 antimicrobial agents were given intraperitoneally using 5 dose levels respectively, and (were given intraperitoneally) using human therapeutic dose after 0.5, 1, 2, 3 h of infection, respectively. 7 antimicrobial agents were imipenem lcilastatin, chloramphenicol, doxycycline hydrochloride, netilmicin sulfate, cefoperazone sodium, piperacillin sodium, and levofloxacin lactate. The numbers of survival mice and the supermicrostructure change of organs were observed. RESULTS: With high dose of the seven agents, blood culture showed negative, and organ supermicrostructure injure recovered. 7 antimicrobial agents produced satisfactory therapeutic effect against experimental vibrio vulnificus infection using human therapeutic dose after 0.5~1 h of infection. Chloramphenicol, netilmicin sulfate, cefoperazone sodium and levofloxacin lactate had the better therapeutic effect after 2 h of infection, and weak effect after 3 h. Imipenem showed a weak effect. CONCLUSION: The treatments with these 7 antimicrobial agents early can obtain satisfactory therapeutic effect against experimental vibrio vulnificus infection in mice.
