Objective: To explore the effects and related mechanism of heat-sensitive moxibustion plus clomifene citrate capsules for infertility due to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods: A total of 70 patients were randomized into a control group and an observation group by the random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was treated with clomifene citrate capsules, while the observation group was treated with heat-sensitive moxibustion on the basis of the medications in the control group. The treatment course lasted for 6 menstrual cycles. The endometrial thickness and ovarian volume of the patients were measured before and after treatment. The levels of serum sex hormones, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) were detected. Follow-up was performed for 1 year after treatment, and the pregnancy rate was recorded. Results: After treatment, the endometrium of the patients in both groups was significantly thickened, the ovarian volume was significantly reduced, and the intra-group differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). The endometrium thickness and ovarian volume in the observation group were significantly different from those in the control group (both P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum testostrn (T) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in both groups decreased significantly, the level of estradiol (E2) increased obviously, and the intra-group differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). The levels of serum T and LH in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the E2 level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the between-group differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum TNF-α and NF-κB of the patients in both groups decreased, and the intra-group differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). The levels of serum TNF-α and NF-κB in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (both P<0.05). After 1-year follow-up, the pregnancy rate was 20.0％ in the control group, versus 51.5％ in the observation group. The pregnancy rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The treatment of heat-sensitive moxibustion plus clomifene citrate capsules can increase the endometrium thickness, reduce the ovarian volume, improve the status of serum sex hormone disorders, and increase the conception rate in patients with infertility due to PCOS, which may be related to the adjustment of the levels of immune inflammatory factors such as serum TNF-α and NF-κB.

Objective To study the induction of IL-6 on expression and activity of tissue factor (TF)in peripheral blood monocytes(PBMCs).Methods rhIL-6 100 ng/L and rhIL-6 100 ng/L+ rhIL-6 MoAb 10?g/L were used respectively to stimulate the PBMCs for 24 h,PBMCs without any stimulation as control group,to study the changes of antigen content,mRNA expression and the ac- tivity of the TF.Results The antigen content,mRNA expression and activity of TF were increased significantly in 100 ng/L rhIL-6 group as compared with rhIL-6 100 ng/L+rhIL-6 MoAb 10?g/L and control groups(P＜0.01).Conclusions rhIL-6 can induce the increase of antigen expression,activity and mRNA expression in PBMCs,and these effects can be suppressed successfully by rhIL-6 MoAb. This study demonstrated that there was potential relations between cytokines and thrombogenesis, which may play an important role the pathogenesis of chronic rejection.

Objective To assess the quality of life(QOL)in patients with stroke at the acute stage,and to determine whether all the dimensions of the Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)are applicable to the stroke patients.Methods Fifty stroke patients at the acute stage were studied.The SF-36 was employed to assess the quality of life of the patients,and a self-designed questionnaire was used to record the general information of them.The data obtained from the patients was compared with the Chinese norm reported in literature. We also calculated the percentage of subjects who achieved the lowest possible score(score of 0,floor effect)and the percentage of subjects who achieved the highest possible score(score of 100,ceiling effect).Results The QOL of the acute stroke patients,as reflected by scores with all the dimensions of the SF-36 scale,was significantly reduced when compared with the norm data(P

Objective To observe the efficacy of multifactor intensive nursing intervention on chronic heart failure patients with outside hospital treatment,including self-management ability and related clinical indicators.Methods By application of prospective study,a total of 215 patients with chronic heart failure discharged from hospital were randomized into the usual care group (105 cases) and the intensive nursing intervention group (1 10 cases).Patients were followed up for 12 months,and 205 patients completed the follow-up.The usual care group only received conventional outpatient follow-up,the intensive intervention group patients received telephone counseling,more detailed clinical follow-up and regular health education.The intervention effect was compared between two groups.Results Compared with the usual care group,the passing rate of sodium/water limit and daily monitoring of weight was higher in the intensive intervention group.Left ventricular ejection fraction and six-minute walking test were better in the intensive intervention group,while the level of NT-pro-BNP was lower in the intensive intervention group.Compared with the usual care group,re-hospitalization rate and incidence of cardiovascular events were lower in the intensive intervention group.Conclusions Multifactor intensive nursing intervention is helpful on improving self-management ability,alleviate cardiac function,reduce re-hospitalization rate and incidence of cardiovascular events for chronic heart failure patients.

Objective To study the effect and mechanism of chlorogenic acid in allergic rhinitis(AR) mice.Methods The model of AR mice was induced by intraperitoneal injection of adjuvant suspension on every other day for 7 times, and then by nasal drip of 10% OVA for 10 days.After administration with 50, 100, 200 mg/kg of chlorogenic acid for 30 min, AR mice were attacked locally for 10 days.Behavior analysis were observed and the effect of chlorogenic acid on the contents of cytokines, IgE and histamine by ELISA in AR mice were determined.Results Chlorogenic acid decreased the number of nose-scratching events in 10min, the weight of nosal draingage, the index of spleen, the content of IL-4 in nasal lavage fluid ( NLF) and the contents of cytokines, IgE and histamine in serum; while increased the index of thymus, the content of IFN-γin NLF, the contents of IFN-γin serum and the rate of IFN-γ/IL-4.The data showed a statistically significant up-regulation of IFN-γmRNA expressions and down-regulation of IL-4 mRNA, IL-5 mRNA, IL-10 mRNA expressions after adiminstration of chlorogenic acid.Conclusion Chlorogenic acid might exert the effect in AR mice through regulating the balance of Th1 and Th2.

Objective To study the inhibitory effects of total flavonoids of scutellaria baicalensis georgi(TFSB) on S180,Hep-A-22 and Bcap-37 tumor cell proliferation in vitro and on S180,Hep-A-22 in mice bearing tumor in vivo.Methods In vitro,S180,Hep-A-22 and Bcap-37 cells were divided into control group and TFSB groups(12.5,25.0,50.0,100.0 mg?L-1).The inhibitory effects of TFSB on proliferation of S180 and Hep-A-22 were measured by XTT colorimetric assay,and Bcap-37 cells were measured by MTT colorimetric assay.In vivo,the mice bearing tumor were divided into control group,CTX group(30 mg?kg-1),high,middle,low doses TFSB groups(200,100,50 mg?kg-1).After the mice bearing S180 and Hep-A-22 tumor cells were treated with TFSB for 15 d,the tumor weights were measured,the inhibitory rates of S180 and Hep-A-22 were calculated and survival of Hep-A22 was measured after administration of TFSB for 10 d.Results TFSB inhibited the proliferation of S180,Hep-A-22 and Bcap-37 cells,IC50 values were 16.04,17.74 and 9.05 mg?L-1,respectively.The tumor weight of mice bearing S180 and Hep-A-22 cells in TFSB groups(200,100,50mg?kg-1) were lowered than that in control(P
