1.Implicit Social Identity in Non-Shenzhen Household Register Students
Chinese Mental Health Journal 2002;0(12):-
Objective:To explore the non-Shenzhen household register students' implicit social identity. Methods:Altogether 119 junior school students, including 87 Shenzhen household register students and 32 non-household register students, were investigated with self-region Implicit Association Test(IAT1) and region-favoritism Implicit Association Test(IAT2) designed according to the social identity theory.Results:(1)In IAT1 of Shenzhen household register students, the discordant reaction time(1242?271)ms was longer than the accordant reaction time(890?165)ms.In IAT1 of non-household register students, the discordant reaction time(1016?127)ms was shorter than the accordant reaction time(1097?196)ms.The implicit effect of self-region remarkably existed in Shenzhen household register students, but not in the non-household register students. In IAT2 of Shenzhen household register students, the discordant reaction time(966?185)ms was longer than the accordant reaction time(789?108)ms.In IAT2 of non-household register students, the discordant reaction time(1021?133)ms was also longer than the accordant reaction time(819?84)ms.And the region-favoritism IAT had implicit effect in both kinds of students.(2)To the non-Shenzhen household register sample, those whose father's job was mental work had higher score in IAT1 than those whose father's job was manual labour(P

BACKGROUND: At present, traditional modalities of neuroimaging, such as CT and MRI, is very limited in the diagnosis and severity estimation of diffuse axonal injury (DAI).OBJECTIVE: To investigate the value of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1HMRS) in the diagnosis and prognosis of DAI.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: Prospective clinical controlled observation. The study was performed at the Department of Neurosurgery, and Department of Radiology, First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University between October 2002 and September 2007.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 63 subjects with traumatic brain injury were enrolled and divided into DAI group (n=27) and non-DAI group (n=36) according to the result of MRI. In addition, 20 healthy persons were served as control group.METHODS: Demographic and clinical data were recorded on admission and neuroimaging examinations including fluid attenuated inversion recovery were carried on according to carefully designed procedures, in addition, 1HMRS was performed and the data were analyzed in combination with clinical condition.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The ratios of N-acetyl aspartate (NAA)/creatine (Cr) and creatine phosphate (Cr), Choline compound (Cho)/Cr, myoinositol (mlNs)/Cr, and glutamic acid (GIx)/Cr at genu and splenium of corpus cellosum, and basal ganglia were quantified using 1HMRS.RESULTS: Compared with control and non-DAI groups, DAI group had decreased NAA/Cr and increased Cho/Cr at genu and splenium of corpus callosum, and basal ganglia (P < 0.05- 0.01), as well as increased mlNs/Cr and Glx/Cr at genu and splenium of corpus cellosum (P < 0.05). Non-DAI group also showed decreased NAA/Cr at splenium and increased Cho/Cr at genu of corpus callosum compared with control group (P < 0.01), but the change degree was less than DAI group. A positive correlation between Cho/Cr at genu of corpus callosum and the peded of primary unconsciousness was identified in DAI group (r=0.824, P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: The 1HMRS indexes at genu and splenium of corpus callosum, and basal ganglia could serve as effective indexes for the diagnosis of DAI. The Cho/Cr could well reflect histological changes following injury and act as sensitive index to predict clinical injury.

Objective:To summarize the clinical characteristics of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in children. Methods:Clinical data of children with EoE who were hospitalized in the Department of Gastroenterology, Beijing Children′s Hospital, Capital Medical University from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2022, were retrospectively analyzed. Results:A total of 18 children with EoE were included in the study, including 13 males and 5 females, with the age of 11.96 (4.96, 12.81) years.Vomiting was more common in preschool children (4/5), while abdominal pain was the main symptom in school-age and adolescent children (11/13). There were 22.22% (4/18) of the children with EoE had an increased white blood cell count, and 33.33%(6/18) had an increased eosinophil count.Allergic history in the first-degree relatives was detected in 55.56%(10/18) of the children with EoE.Total immunoglobulin E (IgE) level was elevated in 68.75% (11/16) of the children.Food-specific IgE was positive in 66.67% (12/18) of the children with EoE.Milk, eggs, and wheat were the most common allergens.Esophageal mucosal hyperemia and erythema, rough, erosion, linear ulcers, annular changes, furrow or wrinkled paper changes, granular changes, polypoid or relaxation of the cardia were seen under endoscopy, whereas 27.78% (5/18) of the children showed normal esophageal mucosa. The histopathology showed chronic inflammation of the esophagus and increased eosinophil count.Three patients were lost of follow-up, and the remaining 15 were followed up for 6-24 months. All children with EoE were treated with the elimination diet.Nine children treated with glucocorticoids experienced clinical remission in a short period of time, involving 1 case with recurrence after withdrawal and being effectively treated by hormone therapy, and 2 cases of repeated digestive system symptoms or increased eosinophil count after withdrawal and being effectively relieved by the elimination diet. Conclusions:EoE is more common in elderly children and boys.Vomiting is the main symptom in pre-school aged children, whereas abdominal pain is the main symptom in school-aged children and adolescents.Increased peripheral white blood cell count and eosinophil count can be detected in some cases, and most of them are positive for food allergen tests.Gastrointestinal endoscopy and histopathology are important in the diagnosis of EoE.Elimination diet may be effective in some patients.Glucocorticoids are of great significance in the treatment of EoE, but a few children are steroid-dependent.
