OBJECTIVETo seek a new method for reconstructing bilateral intemrnal jugular vein invaded by metastasis lymph node in advanced oral cancer patients.
METHODSA combination of microvascular anastomosis and longitudinal constriction suture venoplasty was performed to reconstruct internal jugular vein. We resected the part of the bilateral internal jugular vein of advanced oral cancer patients invaded by metastasis lymph node and used the external carotid vein to reconstruct the internal jugular vein. A part of the vessel wall of the internal jugular vein could also be resected to reconstruct the vein. Longitudinal constriction suture venoplasty could slowly narrow the lumen diameter of the internal jugular vein. Thus, difference in anastomosis diameter should be avoided because it generates eddy currents and subsequently causes blood clots. A total of five advanced cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma were involved in this study. We performed bilateral radical neck dissection on all patients to reconstruct the internal jugular vein and observed their postoperative conditions.
RESULTSPostopera-tive follow-up of 5 months to 19 months was performed on all patients. Doppler or CT angiography and related tests showed no internal jugular vein thrombosis. No patient with facial edema, throat swelling, cerebral edema, and high intracranial pressure or other serious complications caused by blocked venous blood was observed. The one-year survival rate of five patients was 60% (3/5).
CONCLUSIONMicrovascular anastomosis combined with longitudinal constriction suture venoplasty is a new method for reconstructing internal jugular vein. This method was proved successful and clinically feasible.

Objective To evaluate the effect of Orem self‐care mode on sense of well‐being in patients with schizophrenia by Me‐ta analysis .Methods The databases of CBM ,VIP ,CNKI and Wan Fang Data were searched .All randomized controlled trials(RCT ) about Orem self‐care mode for patients about sense of well‐being were included .Data collection and literature review were per‐formed by two reviewers independently .The RevMan 5 .2 software was taken for analysis .Results Three literatures were includ‐ed .All these articles were regarded as low quality ,and only one article′s score of methodological quality are more than three .The Meta analysis showed there were significant differences between the Orem self‐care mode group and the normal nursing mode group in sense of well‐being .Besides the scores of the Orem self‐care mode group are higher(MD = 16 .29 ,95% CI(14 .54 - 18 .05) ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion The Orem self‐care mode is better than normal nursing for sense of well‐being in patients .However ,trials are only three ,and most trials included in the review are of low quality .So large scale randomized controlled trials of higher quality are needed to confirm the result .

Objective To explore the disruption of circadian rhythm induced by the alteration of il?lumination leads to cognition impairement and mood dysreguation in mice. Methods 36 male C57BL/6 mice were divided into constant light group( CL) ,normal light group( N) and constant darkness group( CD) . Open field test was applied for the comparison of locomotor activity, tail suspension test and forced swimming test were conducted for assessment of mood state, and elevated plus?maze and Morris water maze were con?ducted for assessment of cognitive function. Results ( 1) Different circadian rhythms did not change the lo?comotor activity among three groups (CL:(200 160.00±955.28)cm,N:(208 148.00±578.11)cm,CD:(179 128.00±1 185.80)cm, P>0.05). (2) Compared with the control group,CL and CD mice showed significantly decreased immobility time in both TST (CD:(40.16±3.82)s,N:(18.83±2.27)s,CL:(46.00±2.80)s, P<0.01) and FST(CD:(181.33±9.03)s,N:(118.83±7.68)s,CL:(151.83±3.06)s, P<0.05). (3) Compared with the control group,CL and CD mice spent less time (CD:(21.76±6.88)s,N:(80.67±11.19)s,CL:(12.50±5.23)s, P<0.05) and made fewer entries (CD:3.33±0.49,N:6.83±0.91,CL:2.00±0.77, P<0.05) into open arms in elevated plus?maze, and exhibited less crossings in target quarter in Morris water maze (CL:2.67±0.76,N:5.00±0.26,CD:2.83±0.40, P<0.05). Conclusion Chronic constant light or darkness leads to negative impacts on mood and cognition in mice.

Chinese Medical Journal 2014;127(8):1558-1565
OBJECTIVEThe aim of this review is to comprehensively and unbiasedly summarize the improvements in the techniques for classical corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) by covering the reasons for this improvement, measure, and effect to approach the future direction of the CXL.
DATA SOURCESAll articles used in this review were mainly retrieved from the PubMed database.
STUDY SELECTIONOriginal articles and reviews were selected if they were related to the improvement in the technique of classical CXL. Data were mainly extracted from 94 articles, which are listed in the reference section of this review.
RESULTSThis innovative research involves every step such as instrument preparation, epithelial management, riboflavin instillation, and UVA irradiation. These clinical and experimental results seem promising.
CONCLUSIONSCXL treatment is the only recent promising method for preventing the progress of keratoconus. The limitations and potential complications that accompany classical CXL such as corneal thickness limitations, ultraviolet-A (UVA) light injury, and the impact of de-epithelialization encourage people to research new improvements in techniques. While this research needs to be further investigated, we hope our review can help related researchers and patients.

Aberrant regulation of miRNA genes contributes to pathogenesis of a wide range of human diseases, including cancer. The TAR DNA binding protein 43 (TDP-43), a RNA/DNA binding protein associated with neurodegeneration, is involved in miRNA biogenesis. Here, we systematically examined miRNAs regulated by TDP-43 using RNA-Seq coupled with an siRNA-mediated knockdown approach. TDP-43 knockdown affected the expression of a number of miRNAs. In addition, TDP-43 down-regulation led to alterations in the patterns of different isoforms of miRNAs (isomiRs) and miRNA arm selection, suggesting a previously unknown role of TDP-43 in miRNA processing. A number of TDP-43 associated miRNAs, and their candidate target genes, are associated with human cancers. Our data reveal highly complex roles of TDP-43 in regulating different miRNAs and their target genes. Our results suggest that TDP-43 may promote migration of lung cancer cells by regulating miR-423-3p. In contrast, TDP-43 increases miR-500a-3p expression and binds to the mature miR-500a-3p sequence. Reduced expression of miR-500a-3p is associated with poor survival of lung cancer patients, suggesting that TDP-43 may have a suppressive role in cancer by regulating miR-500a-3p. Cancer-associated genes LIF and PAPPA are possible targets of miR-500a-3p. Our work suggests that TDP-43-regulated miRNAs may play multifaceted roles in the pathogenesis of cancer.

The ongoing pandemic of Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) is caused by a newly discovered β Coronavirus named severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). How long the adaptive immunity triggered by SARS-CoV-2 can last is of critical clinical relevance in assessing the probability of second infection and efficacy of vaccination. Here we examined, using ELISA, the IgG antibodies in serum specimens collected from 17 COVID-19 patients at 6-7 months after diagnosis and the results were compared to those from cases investigated 2 weeks to 2 months post-infection. All samples were positive for IgGs against the S- and N-proteins of SARS-CoV-2. Notably, 14 samples available at 6-7 months post-infection all showed significant neutralizing activities in a pseudovirus assay, with no difference in blocking the cell-entry of the 614D and 614G variants of SARS-CoV-2. Furthermore, in 10 blood samples from cases at 6-7 months post-infection used for memory T-cell tests, we found that interferon γ-producing CD4
