Background and Objectives: The hospital as health care facility has also become a source of infection that provides a place for different microbiological agents such as fungi. Exposure to these organisms is specifically detrimental to highly immunocompromised in-house patients. This study aimed to 1) detect the presence of fungi in a public tertiary hospital in Metro Manila; 2) determine the dominating fungal organism; and 3) describe the environmental conditions and physical factors affecting the proliferation of fungal organisms. Methodology: Eight sampling sites were selected for this study. The hospital main lobby was the comparison site for the three non-air-conditioned surgery wards (NACWs) while the fourth level nurse station is the comparison site for the air-conditioned wards (ACWs). Meteorologic conditions such as environmental temperature and relative humidity were also determined. Andersen air sampler was utilized to conduct the environmental indoor air sampling. A total of 98 malt extract agar supplemented with chloramphenicol (0.01%) plates were utilized for the duplicate sampling in eight sites. After three to five days of incubation at 37° C, the isolated fungal organisms were culturally and morphologically characterized. Results: Seven fungal organisms were isolated from the indoor air sampling conducted namely: Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Curvularia sp., Penicillium sp., Alternaria sp. and Rhizopus sp.). The most dominant fungal species among the NACWs was A. niger. On the other hand, A. fumigatus was the most observed isolate among the ACWs. The air-conditioned wards showed a higher number of fungal isolates. In particular, A. fumigatus and A. flavus colonies in the ACWs were evidently higher than in the NACWs. Conclusion The ubiquitous nature of the Aspergillus species and slow settling rate due to small spore size make it the most dominant fungal organism retrieved in the air sampling conducted. No strict numerical guidelines were available for the spore counts of Aspergillus species to assess contamination rate. However, according to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, 2018, the values of CFU/m³ of most of the isolates not only by Aspergillus species showed non-compliance with the threshold level documented.
Temperature

This study was performed to evaluate the actual temperature rise on the surface of Buchanan plugger using thermocouple. The heat carrier system 'System B Heatsource' (Model 1005, Analytic Technologies, Redmond, WA, USA) and the Buchanan pluggers of F, FM, M and ML sizes are used for this study. The temperature was set to 200degrees C on digital display and the power level on it was set to 10. Five thermocouples were placed in direct contact with the surface of each size of Buchanan's pluggers at 1 mm increments from the tip to the 4 mm length of shank. The heat control spring was touched for 5 seconds, and the temperature rise on the surface of the pluggers were measured at 1 sec intervals for more than 5 seconds with an accuracy of 0.01 using Data Logger. The data were statistically analyzed by one-way ANOVA. The results were as follows. 1. The position at which the temperature peaked was approximately at 1~2 mm far from the tip of Buchanan plugger (p<0.01). 2. The peak temperature was 215.25+/-2.28degrees C in F plugger, 185.94+/-2.19degrees C in FM plugger, 169.51+/-9.12degrees C in M plugger, and 160.79+/-1.27degrees C in ML plugger and the peak temperature was highest in F plugger and followed by, in descending order, FM plugger, M plugger. ML plugger showed the lowest peak temperature (p<0.01). 3. The temperature on the pluggers was decreased with the increase of touching time. This results suggest that the actual temperature on the surface of the pluggers does not correlate well with the temperature set on digital display. Heat concentrates around the tip. The larger plugger reveals lower temperature rise relatively.

A total of 40 patients with asymptomatic HCV infection were involved in this study at Immunology Department of Military Hospital 108. Frequency of elevated transaminase was 27,5%. The change of amount of TCD4, TCD8, TCD3, B cell was found in 75%. Subjects were divided in to 2 groups: patients with asymptomatic HCV infection and elevated transaminase (group A) and asymptomatic HCV patients without elevated transaminase (group B). Number of TCD4, TCD8, TCD3, BCD19 increased significantly in group A, higher than in group B and controls. There was positive correlation between increasing TCD4, especially TCD8 with transaminase. Response of both T cell and B cell was shown in group A.

Studying the influence of temperature to the content of flavonoids in Flos Sophorae showed that the dried temperature make the significant changes the content of rutin and quercetin in Flos Sophorae. The rutin content increased when drying over a fire at 80oC-120oC, quercetin did not be changed much; at 140oC-180oC, the contents of rutin decreased slightly, quercetin increased slightly. At 200oC-220oC, the contents of rutin decreased clearly, quercetin increased clearly. These results can be applied for the standardization of Flos Sophorae using roasting methods for traditional medicines

Ramping-up is the magnet current injection procedure which is under the control of resistance, voltage, current lead temperature, magnet pressure, temperature and so on. In this procedure, the factors related to the stability of the magnet such as, magnet temperature, pressure and currents are constantly changing. This study uses the data collected during 7 years and SIMENS MRI ramping-up theory, in order to help engineers understand the key factors to reduce the magnet quench during the ramping up procedure.

An automatic ash-removal heat-sensitive moxibustion device was developed, which could keep relatively constant temperature of heat-sensitive moxibustion, and realize the automatic ignition and automatic ash removal of moxa sticks during heat-sensitive moxibustion. The automatic ash-removal heat-sensitive moxibustion device comprises a bracket and a moxibustion box fixed on the top of the bracket; the bracket is composed of a base and a movable telescopic arm. This device can solve the problems of temperature instability, moxa ash blocking heat transfer and moxa ash falling during heat-sensitive moxibustion, avoiding the scalding caused by moxa ash falling, and reduce the workload of medical staff.

Wild Angelica sinensis is almost endangered, studying the biological characteristics of wild A. sinensis seeds is helpful for varietal improvement and its conservation. This paper systematically studied the morphological structure, thousand seed weight, viability, storage and other basic biological characteristics of wild A. sinensis fruits and seeds, and focused on the germination of excised embryos,the development of embryo, the effects of the temperature,light and hormones on seed germination.The study found that:①The embryos are not fully developed when harvested, the initial germination rate was low, the embryos can develop. After 15 days of low temperature storage, the embryos can develop completely and the germination rate is significantly increased. These results show that wild A. sinensis seeds have no dormancy, and the low germination rate is due to the low maturity of wild A. sinensis seeds. ②The sui-table germination temperature of wild A. sinensis is 15-25 ℃,and the optimal temperature is 20 ℃. Light does not affect the germination of A. sinensis seeds.③The applicable concentration of GA_3 can promote seeds germination, IAA and 6-BA has no significant effect on germination.④The optimum storage condition is dry storage at 4 ℃. Wild A. sinensis seeds can be stored for 1.5 years and cultivated seeds can be stored for 1 year.During the introduction and conservation, the best treatment conditions were dry storage at 4 ℃ for 30 d and soaking seeds with 200 mg·L~(-1) GA_3, the germination rate can reach 86.7%.

Percutaneous laser ablation is a potential minimally invasive method for tumors. Before developing this technique, clinicians need a method that can easily understand and master the range of laser ablation. In response to clinical needs, we investigated the relationship between temperature and tissue damage during tissue ablation, and designed a temperature measurement device to help doctors grasp the laser ablation range simply and conveniently.
