2.Metabonomics: a Revolution in Progress
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;33(5):401-417
Metabonomics is the branch of science concerned with the quantitative understandings of the metabolite complement of integrated living systems and its dynamic responses to the changes of both endogenous factors (such as physiology and development)and exogenous factors (such as environmental factors and xenobiotics). As a holistic approach, metabonomics detects, quantifies and catalogues the time related metabolic processes of an integrated biological system, ultimately, relates such processes to the trajectories of the pathophysiological events. Ever since its birth in 1999, metabonomics has already been described in more than 800 scientific papers and half dozen patents, amongst which almost 700 papers were experimental articles. Now, metabonomics has been established as an extremely powerful analytical tool and hence found successful applications in many research areas including molecular pathology and physiology, drug efficacy and toxicity, gene modifications and functional genomics, and environmental sciences. This holistic approach has thus become an important part of systems biology and has now evolved to be a unique part in global systems biology. The essence of metabonomics and some of the present applications were reviewed to illustrate the rapid development of this extremely exciting new frontier.
3.Galvanic corrosion between Ti implants and implant superstructure dental alloys
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2011;15(51):9617-9620
BACKGROUND: Most of the dental metal repair materials contacting Ti implants will cause galvanic corrosion and local environment with positive electricity on the implant interface, which directly affects the status of the tissues, especially bone resorption.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the galvanic corrosion of commercially pure Ti (TA2 type) coupled with Au alloy, CoCr alloy, Ti alloy, and NiCr alloy in vitro. METHODS: Circuit of commercially pure Ti contacting with Au alloy, CoCr alloy, Ti alloy, and NiCr alloy was simulated in vitro in artificial saliva, and the common potential and galvanic current in 15 hours were recorded to draw current-time curves. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The galvanic current became stable after 8 hours of contacting. The galvanic current was the greatest in Ti/Au, followed by Ti/CoCr, Ti/Ti alloy, and then Ti/NiCr. Results indicated that the galvanic corrosion of the couple of Ti and Au alloy is the lowest. Au alloy is the most suitable material for implant superstructure. The galvanic corrosion of the couple of Ti and NiCr alloy is the highest, so NiCr alloy is not acceptable for implant superstructure.
4.Effects of epidural block anesthesia assisted sevoflurane for cesarean section on Apgar scores
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2013;12(4):294-295
To explore the feasibility of sevoflurane used in obstetric anesthesia and examine its effects on neonatal Apgar scores.A total of 60 cases of term primipara were assigned into epidural anesthesia assisted sevoflurane inhalation group (experimental group,n =30) and epidural anesthesia group (control group,n =30).In the experimental group after skin incision, the patients could not tolerate the anesthesia mask inhalation of sevoflurane. And the control group received no adjuvant drug. The maternal inhalation of sevoflurane to delivery of fetus after 1 min,5 min,10 min Apgar scores were analyzed. And the inhalation of sevoflurane to fetal childbirth duration were 4-10 min in two groups. The intergroup difference of newborn Apgar scores had no statistical significance (P > 0.05).Epidural anesthesia assisted sevoflurane inhalation for cesarean section had no significant effect on neonatal Apgar scores.
5.Efficacy of intravenous iron for iron deficiency anemia on premature infants
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2014;29(19):1497-1499
Anemia is one of the most common disease in premature infants,it not only affects growth and development, but also have long-term impact on the future movement, cognition, learning ability and behavioral development, and most of mental harms nor reversible even though after iron supplementation. So,supplementation with intravenous iron will be a good approach to prevent and treatment with anemia for oral iron supplementations invalid or intolerant infants.Currently, safety and start time for iron supplementation in preterm infants remains controversial. This review focuses on the efficacy and safety of intravenous iron for prevent and treatment of iron deficiency anemia in preterm infants.
6.Anesthesia management for liver transplantation
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(18):-
Before liver transplantation, the patients represent the changes of hemodynamics, disorder of internal environment and disfunction of blood clotting. Built-in pathophysiological changes may be aggravated and liver ischemic reperfusion injury severes the anesthesia during operation. It is very important to enhance multisystem monitor, have correct transfusion treatment and maintain stabilization of hemodynamics, acid-base balance, as well as blood clotting function during anesthesia management. Before liver transplantation, anesthetists should understand patients' condition in details. It is critical for a successful operation to maintain the index balance, relieve the ischemic reperfusion injury, manage the liver function failure during anesthesia, as well as adjust the changes of hemodynamics, metabolic disorder and blood clotting disfunction.
7.A SOMATOTOPICAL LOCALIZATION WITHIN THE RED NUCLEUS WITH RESPECT TO THE RUBROSPINAL TRACT IN THE RABBIT
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
17 young healthy rabbits weighing from 520 to 720 gins, ageing 38~48 postnatal days, were used for this study.Seven to fourteen days following spinal lesions at diffe- rent levels the animals were killed and serial transverse sections of thc brain stem were stained with thionin, the retrograde cell degenerations within the red nucleus were studied. An analysis of the chromatolysis indicates that the rubrospinal fibers are largely crossed and a few fibers to the cervical cord are uncrossed.Furthermore,a somatotopical localization exists within the contralateral red nucleus with respect to the rubrospinal tract,i.e.the cervical projections of the fibers system take origin from the dorsal part of the red nucleus almost throughout its whole extent, the thoracic projections from the ventral part of the caudal five-sixths of the red nucleus, and the lumbar projections from the centro-ventral part of the caudal third of the nucleus. It also indicates that all types of cells in the red nucleus, not only the large ones, give rise to the rubrospinal tract. The spinal porjections of this fiber tract may descend as far as the lumbar cord.
8.Research prowess of the relationship between inflammatory bowel disease and fungus
Journal of Chinese Physician 2016;18(9):1305-1308
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic intestinal inflammatory disease with unknown etiology, including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD).At present,as the global incidence of inflammatory bowel disease is increasing year by year, the role of the intestinal micro ecology in disease evolution has attracted more and more attention, and as an important part of gut microbes system, the intestinal fungus'changes and effects in disease states are unclear. This paper reviews on the intestinal fungus in the occurrence, development of inflammatory bowel disease from the composition and distribution of the intestinal fungus and its relationship with the gut bacteria, and the immune reaction.

Guangjian TANG ; Yisheng WANG ;
Chinese Journal of Radiology 1994;0(06):-
Objective To study the relationship between polyps of middle meatus and the position of the inferior border of the middle concha related to the semilunar hiatus, and to evaluate the diagnostic value of coronal CT scan of the nasal cavity after ephedrine spray by means of comparison of CT images and clinical findings Methods The coronal CT studys of 102 cases clinically suspected as sinusitis and/or nasal polyps were included in this study 1% ephedrine was sprayed in nasal cavity of the patients before CT study and the patient were asked to take supine position with head over extended over 5 minutes Axial and coronal CT scan was taken with supine position, 2 mm slice thickness and high resolution reconstruction Observation was focused on contraction of the nasal mucosa and soft tissue mass of the middle meatus (polyps) The middle concha was divided into 3 types according the position of its inferior border related to the semilunar hiatus: superior hiatus type (the inferior border of the middle concha superior to the semilunar hiatus), hiatus type (the inferior edge of the middle concha at the level of the semilunar hiatus), inferior hiatus type (the inferior edge of the middle concha inferior to the semilunar hiatus) Statistic comparing the occurrence of the middle meatus polyps with different middle conchas type and measuring the length of the middle conchas of inferior hiatus type from the level of the semilunar hiatus to the inferior border were performad Results Good and better contraction of the nasal mucosa with clear manifestation of the lesion was seen in 98 of 102 cases Nasal polyps of middle meatus were diagnosed in 71 sides of nasal cavities of 47 cases and confirmed surgically and/or clinically 39 superior hiatus and hiatus middle conchas were found ipsilateral to the polyps (54 9%) Of 204 sides of 102 cases, superior hiatus type middle conchas was found in 18 sides of nasal cavity with middle meatus polyps in 11 sides (61 1%); hiatus type in 38 sides with middle meatus polys in 28 sides (73 7%); and inferior hiatus type in 148 sides with middle meatus polys in 32 sides (21 6%) The difference was markedly significant statistically Conclusion Coronal CT scan after ephedrine spray into the nasal cavity can depict the mass in the nasal cavity better, especially nasal polyps with swollen mucosa The method is simple and easy to perform The poorly developed middle concha and the exposed middle meatus may be one of the causes of polyps of middle meatus It clues on that the middle concha should be preserved as much as possible during the endoscopic sinus surgery, opening the ethmoidal infundibulum and bullas, to decrease post operative recurrence of middle meatus polyps
10.Clinical analysis of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis complicated by serum hypoproteinemia in 30 patients
Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(11):1183-1185
Objective To test the serum albumin level in patients having the peritoneal dialysis, and investigate its relationship with C-reactive protein(CRP)level or other inflammatory complications. Methods Sixty patients having peritoneal dialysis treatment were divided into two groups based on the serum albumin(ALB)level, patients had normal ALB level were included into group A,while the patients with serum hypoproteinemia were included into group B. The serum level of CRP,transferin(TF)and nutritional status were compared between two groups, and their relationship with clinical complications were evaluated. Results The serum CRP level in patients of group B(8.40 ± 1.32)mg/L was significantly higher than group A(2. 14 ±0.87)mg/L(P <0. 01). Patients from group B had more inflammation complications, such as peritonitis(6. 7%),pneumonia(13. 3%),cardiovascular disease(16.7%). Conclusions The continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patients accompanied with hypoproteinemia are more likely to have inflammation complications and cardiovascular diseases, which should cause more attention on their malnutrition-inflammation- CVD(MIA)syndrome diagnosis and treatment.
