1.Application Research on Early Family Intervention in Prevention and Treatment of Cerebral Palsy
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2008;30(6):477,479-
Objective To explore the effect of family early intervention on development of infants with prematurity and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).Methods 136 cases of premature infants, moderate and severe HIE infants were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group.Every region of intelligence development was detected by Gesell Developmental Schedules at 16 weeks,28 weeks and 12 months respectively. Results Motor behavior, adaptive behavior, language behavior and personal social behavior increased obviously in the treatment group, while the incidence rate of cerebral palsy markedly decreased, showing a significant difference compared with the control group. Conclusion Early family intervention can efficiently improve the development of premature infants or infants with HIE,and prevent cerebral palsy from occurrence.
2.Clinical Observation on Treatment of 29 Cases of Infantile Cerebral Palsy with Acupuncture and Massage
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2009;31(2):142-143
Objective To observe clinical effect of treating infantile cerebral palsy with acupuncture and massage. Methods 29 cases with cerebral palsy were randomly recurited into a control group and a treatment group. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture and massage, and the control group was treated with western medicine. The clinical effect of both groups was observed after the treatment. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group was 85.7% and 66.7% respectively, showing a significant difference (P<0.05) . Conclusion The treatment of infantile cerebral palsy with acupuncture and massage was better than treated with western medicine.

Objective To compare effects of warm water infusion and air insufflation on patient tolerance and satisfaction during the insertion phase of unsedated colonoscopy. Methods In a single-center,prospective,single blind randomized trial, patients were randomly assigned to three groups (water infusion group, air insufflation group,or hybrid method group) during the insertion phase of colonoscopy.Main outcome measurements included insertion time, cecal intubation rate, adenoma detection rate, the rate of position change, the rate of abdominal compression, intraoperative pain and distension VAS scores, postoperative pain and distension VAS scores. Results A total of 180 cases were enrolled,60 in each group.Patients in water infusion group and hybrid method group required less abdominal compression or position change, longer insertion time, reported lower intraoperative pain and distension VAS scores than air insufflation group during the insertion phase of colonoscopy. There were no significant differences in cecal intubation rates, adenoma detection rates, postoperative pain and distension or VAS scores among three groups. Conclusion Water infusion significantly decreases patient abdominal pain and distension during the insertion phase of colonoscopy without affecting cecal intubation rate and adenoma detection rate.
