Objective It has been shown that partial liquid ventilation (PLV) with perfluorocarbon (PFC) can reduce intrapulmonary aggregation of neutrophils (PMNs) and macrophages and their cytokine release during acute lung injury (ALI) . The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of PFC on activation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-?B) in neutrophils induced by lipopolysacchride (LPS) .Methods PMNs were isolated from peripheral blood obtained from 36 healthy volunteers and incubated in RPM 1640 cell culture medium yielding a concentration of 1?108/ hole. The PMNs were randomly divided into two groups : (Ⅰ) LPS group in which PMNs were incubated with LPS 10?g?ml-1(n = 18) and (Ⅱ) PFC group in which 5 min after stimulation of PMNs with the same concentration of LPS (10?g?ml-1 ) , PFC was added to the cell suspension with the final concentration of PFC / cell culture medium (vol / vol) of 0.3 (n=18 ). After incubation with LPS for 3 h (T1), 8h (T2) and 24 h (T3), the cell suspensions were centrifuged. The supernatants were analyzed for TNF-? concentration and gray value of activated NF-?B was measured in the nuclear of neutrophils. Results The concentration of TNF-a and gray value of NF-?B in PFC group were significantly lower than those in LPS group at all time points ( P

Objective To analyze the psychometric properties of the Fine Motor Function Measure Scale (FMFM) with cerebral palsied children less than 3 years old. Methods Three hundred and seventy-five children less than 3 years old with cerebral palsy were involved. The test-retest reliability, inter-tester reliability, correlation validity and structural validity of the FMFM were analyzed, as well as the responsiveness. Results The test-retest reliability (ICC = 0. 983 3 ) and the inter-tester reliability (ICC = 0. 992 4) of the FMFM were satisfactory. The correlation index between the raw FMFM scores and scores on the Peabody Developmental Motor Scale——Fine Motor was 0.919 9. The FMFM could clearly distinguish differences in fine motor function between the affected side and the intact side in children with hemiplegia. The differences in fine motor function between children with diplegia and quadriplegia could also be distinguished by the FMFM. The effect size of this scale was also good. Conclusion The reliability, validity and responsiveness of the FMFM were satisfying. The fine motor functioning of children with cerebral palsy could be effectively measured using the FMFM scale.

Objective:To compare the caries experience and the kinds of dental treatment between children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and children without systemic disease who were all treated under general anesthesia. Methods:Totally 103 children with ASD who received dental treatments under general anesthesia in 13 professional dental hospitals around China from April to November 2016 were included in the present study. A group of 97 children without systemic disease, according to the age, gender and application propensity score matching method, were chosen as controls, who received dental treatments under general anesthesia between January 2015 to November 2018 in the same hospitals as the children with ASD. Decay missing filling tooth (DMFT/dmft, DMFT for permanent teeth and dmft for primary teeth) indices of two groups of children and the contents of the dental treatments under general anesthesia were analyzed. Results:No significant difference of DMFT/dmft index [ M( Q25, Q75)] was found between children with ASD group [0 (0, 3)/11(8, 14)] and control group [0 (0, 3)/9(7, 13)] ( P>0.05). The average number of dental treatments under general anesthesia and the average number of endodontic treatment in children with ASD were 13 (11, 15) and 3 (2, 6) teeth respectively, while those in the control group were 12 (9, 14) and 2 (1, 4) teeth respectively, the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.01, P<0.05). Conclusions:No significant difference was found between children with ASD and the normal controls who receive dental treatments under general anesthesia in DMFT/dmft index, but the treatment needs of children with ASD is relatively higher, and their tooth decay is relatively severer.
