In this article routine treatment and neck acupuncture were used in 95 cases with acutecerebral embolism. The results show that the evaluation of mark with Neurological Function Distress is remarkedly reduced,and cure rate and general effective rate are more higher than routine treatment (contrast,P<0.01) .This study suggests that neck acupuncture is a simple and effective theapy of cerebral embolism.

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy of amoxicillin/sulbactam in the treatment of bacterial infections METHODS:Fifty-six patients were divided into two groups:amoxicillin/sulbactam group(30 patients) and ampicillin/sulbactam group(26 patients) The test and control groups received amoxicillin/sulbactam and ampicillin/sulbactam 3g,iv,q8h for (8?2)d,respectively RESULTS:The overall effective rates of amoxicillin/sulbactam and ampicillin/sulbactam were 93% and 73%,the bacterial clearance rates were 92% and 83% and the ADRs were 6% and 11%,respectively CONCLUSION:Amoxicillin/sulbactam is a safe and potent antibacterial agent in the treatment of the bacterial infections

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the anti-adherence effect and its mechanism of Xingnaojing(XNJ)injec?tion.METHODS:In mixed culture of rabbit’s PMN and brain microvascular endothelial cell(BMVEC),the effects of XNJ on LPS-induced PMN-BMVEC adhesion and the changes of PAF and NO levels were observed.RESULTS:XNJ could obviously decrease the PMN-BMVEC adhesion rate and the levels of NO and PAF in culture medium.CONCLUSION:XNJ can inhibit adhesion of PMN to BMVEC and release of some inflammatory media.The decrease of some inflammatory media may related to the reduction of adhesion.

Objective To observe the effects of saponins of Panax notoginseng (PNS) on the brain energy metabolism and mitochondrial respiratory function of oxidative damaged rat model mimic to Alzheimer disease (AD). Methods Oxidative damaged rat model mimic AD (AD group) was established by injection of dihydroxy fumaric acid (DHF) and FeCl3 ADP into the left lateral ventricle of rats. The contents of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), adenosine diphosphate (ADP), adenosine monophosphate (AMP), and phosphate creatine (Pcr) in brain were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The mitochondrial functions (R3, R4, P/O, and OPR) were observed by Clark oxygen electrode method. The difference in the above parameters in rats in the control group (injection of saline), model group, and administration group (injection of PNS) was observed. Results The levels of ATP, Pcr, and R3, R4, P/O, and OPR of rats in AD group were significantly lower than those in the control group (0.9% NaCl instead of DHF FeCl3 ADP), but those in PNS group were higher than those in the AD group. Conclusion PNS can improve brain energy metabolism and mitochondrial function of oxidative damaged rats, suggesting that PNS could be used for the treatment of AD.

Objective To prepare gliclazide (GZ) hydroxypropyl ? cyclodextrin (HP ? CD) inclusion complexes in order to enhance its aqueous solubility. Methods Inclusion complexes, prepared using 3 different methods of spray drying, freeze drying, and grinding, were identified by phase solubility analysis, infrared spectrophotometry, thermal analysis, and determination of the limited ammonium concentration. Results The HP ? CD inclusion complexes could be prepared by using the 3 different methods. The ratio of host/guest molecules was 1∶1. Ammonium residues were detected in inclusion complexes prepared by the freeze dried method. Conclusion The inclusion complexes can be prepared by the spray drying and grinding methods. The solubility of gliclazide can be significantly increased in the inclusion complexes.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard of Bikemin capsule to control the quality METHODS:TLC method was used for the identification of Ephedra sinica and the detection of limitation of aconitine in Bikemin capsule Ephedrine and pseudoephedrine in the capsule were determined by HPLC on C18 column with the detection wavelength at 215nm RESULTS:The standard curves of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine were linear in the ranges of 0 02～0 10mg/ml (r=0 9 993) and 0 01～0 05mg/ml(r=0 9 996)respectively The average recoveries were (101 4?1 78)% for ephedrine and (98 08?1 81)% for pseudoephedrine CONCLUSION:The identification method is specific and the determination method is sensitive The quality standard is suitable for control of quality of Bikemin capsule

OBJECTIVE:To promote rational drug use in the treatment of burn injury.METHODS:Information about variety and amount of money of drug use for both outpatients and inpatients from January to June of2004in the department of burn injury of our hospital were collected and analyzed.RESULTS:The anti-infective antibiotics ranked the first in terms of drug consumption,which accounted for38.7%of the total in terms of amount of money.The single-variety drugs that domi-nated the first5places in terms of amount of money of drug use were respectively recombinant human growth hormone,cefo_ taxime sodium for injection/sulbactam sodium,hydrochloric cefepime injection,vancomycin injection and glutamine granule. CONCLUSION:It deserves attention to adopt a comprehensive measure in the prevention and cure of burn infections and to use antibiotics rationally so as to reduce drug consumption.

Objective: To explore influence of rehabilitative exercise on left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), diastolic function and blood pressure in patients with hypertension.Methods: A total of 120 patients diagnosed as essential hypertension complicated LVH in our hospital were enrolled.They were randomly and equally divided into routine treatment group (received routine antihypertensive treatment) and rehabilitative exercise group (received rehabilitative exercise based on routine antihypertensive medication).Blood pressure control rate on four, eight and 12 weeks after treatment, color Doppler echocardiographic outcomes before and 12 weeks after treatment were compared between two groups.Results: Blood pressure control rate after 12 weeks in rehabilitative exercise group was significantly higher than that of routine treatment group (76.7% vs.58.3%, P=0.03).Echocardiography indicated that compared with before treatment, there were significant improvements in left ventricular diastolic function and LVH indexes except left ventricular end-diastolic dimension in both groups after treatment, P<0.01 all;but there were no significant difference in left ventricular diastolic function and LVH indexes between two groups after treatment, P>0.05 all.Conclusion: Rehabilitative exercise training can significantly improve blood pressure control rate in patients with essential hypertension.Short-medium term exercise training fails to significantly improve left ventricular hypertrophy and diastolic function than routine treatment group, the effect of long-term training needs to be confirmed by more researches.
