Objective To evaluate the feasibility and utility of three different assays on early diagnosis and monitoring of neonatal congenital cytomegalovirus infection. Methods Ninety-eight neonates whose mother was CMV-IgM positive during pregnancy were examined on the 14th days after birth for CMV antigen in blood and PCR-CMV-DNA in the saliva. Three different methods were applied including CMV antigenemia assay, PCR for CMV-DNA and ELISA for serum CMV-IgM. Neonates were followed up for six months. Results (1) Forty-eight of the 98 neonates were diagnosed as congenital CMV infection including 7 symptomatic infection and 41 asymptomatic. None of the 98 subjects was CMV-IgM positive. Among the 7 symptomatic cases, the positive rates of CMV antigen and PCR-CMV-DNA were 100%(7), 71.4%(5), and 70.7%(29/41), 46.3%(19/41) in the asymptomatic group, respectively. The sensitivity of CMV antigenemia assay and PCR was 75.0% and 54.2%, respectively. The CMV antigenemia index of the symptomatic cases was significantly higher than that of asymptomatic ones [(16-52)/50 000 vs (3-31)/50 000 white blood cells, P

Objective To investigate the relationship between peripheral blood circulating follicular helper T cells and antibody-secreting B cells in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). The role of circulating follicular helper T cells and antibody-secreting B cells in the pathogenesis of AS were explored. Methods Flow cytometry was used to detect the levels of peripheral blood CD4 +CXCR5+ T (cTfh), CD4+CXCR5+PD-1+ T, CD4+CXCR5+ICOS+ T, CD19+ B, CD19+CD38+ B cells in 59 patients with AS (including 36 cases of active AS patients and 23 cases of inactive AS patients). In addition, twenty healthy persons were selected as the controls. Data analysis were performed by independent-sample t test, One way ANOVA analysis, Pearson's and Spearman's correlation test. Results The percentages of cTfh [(26.8 ±10.4)%], CD4+CXCR5+PD-1+T [(12.1±14.0)%], CD4+CXCR5+ICOS+T [(13.6±9.5)%], CD19+CD38+B [(80.7±13.0)%] in the peripheral blood of AS group were significantly higher than healthy controls [(15.6 ±4.5)%, (6.4 ±2.4)%, (9.4 ± 4.5)%, (68.2±13.0)%] (t=6.663, P<0.01; t=2.999, P<0.01; t=2.573, P<0.05; t=2.712, P<0.01). The percentages of cTfh in the active AS group [(30.2 ±11.0)%] were significantly higher than those in the inactive AS group [(21.4±6.5)%] and HC (t=3.444, P<0.01;t=7.004, P<0.01). The percentage of CD19+CD38+B[(85.1±10.0)%] in the peripheral blood of active AS group was significantly higher than that of the inactive AS group [(73.8 ±14.2)%] and HC (t=3.561, P<0.01;t=5.410, P<0.01). The relationship between Bath AS disease activity index (BASDAI) and the percentage of cTfh, CD19+CD38+B was a positive correlation (r=0.442, P<0.01; r=0.405, P=0.001), and significant positive correlation was observed between the percentages of cTfh and CD19+CD38+B cells (r=0.420, P=0.001). Conclusion CD4+CXCR5+cTfh cells are significantly increased in peripheral blood in AS patients with aberrant CD19+CD38+ antibody-secreting B cells, suggesting that cTfh and CD19+CD38+antibody-secreting B cells may play an important role in the pathogenesis of AS .

Objective:To observe the levels of lymphocyte subgroups in children with severe pneumonia and non -severe pneumonia , and to investigate the change of celluer immune funciton of patients , moreover provide available reference for treatment. Methods:Flow cytometry instrument was used to detect peripheral blood CD 3+T, CD3+CD4+T, CD3+CD8+T, CD19+B lymphocytes and NK cells in 27 children with severe pneumonia and 28 children with non-severe pneumonia. In addition 20 heathy children were selected as the controls .Results:Compared with the heathy control group ,the levels of CD3+T,CD3+CD4+T,CD3+CD8+T lymphocytes and NK cells in children with severe pneumonia decreased significantly (P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.05),while CD4/CD8 ratio,CD19+B cells were significantly increased (P<0.05,P<0.01).The level of CD3+CD8+T lymphocytes in children with non-severe pneumonia significantly lower than the heathy control group (P<0.01),but the level of CD19+B cells in children with non-severe pneumonia significantly higher than the heathy control group (P<0.01).Compared with non-severe pneumonia group. The levels of CD3+and CD3+CD8+T lymphocytes in children with severe pneumonia decreased significantly (P<0.01),however CD19+B cells were significantly increased ( P<0.01 ) .Conclusion: Immune dysfunction exists in both of children with severe pneumonia and non-severe pneumonia.Children with severe pneumonia has more serious damage in inmmunity .This provides certain theoretical basis for clinical e-valuation and treatment .

The species of bromine and iodine in aerosol samples were extracted using ultra-pure water-ultrasonic method with different time in-length and pressurizing decomposition with dilute ammonia, respectively. The efficiency of extraction and the stability of bromine and iodine species were compared under different extraction) conditions. Results showed that(1) the efficiency of extraction using pressurizing decomposition, which might destroy some unknown form of organic iodine, was relatively higher than the one by ultrasonic method;(2) I~- was unstable in added standard cellular blank filter during ultrasonic assisted extraction for long time;(3) The optimum condition was ultra-pure water-ultrasonic assisted extraction for 5 min. Moreover), the suitability of glass microfiber filter(GF) and cellular filter(CF) during extraction for bromine and iodine) species in aerosol was also compared, which indicated that GF is favorable for species analysis than CF under different kinds of extraction conditions. Based upon the extraction results, HPLC-ICP-MS approach was developed to analyze bromine and iodine) species in atmospheric aerosol. The total iodine, bromine and species in the aerosol samples collected in Hefei were then determined accordingly. The levels of total bromine and iodine) in Hefei aerosols were 883 and 231 pmol/m~3, respectively. Br~- was found to be dominant species with 68%, while BrO_3~- was undetectable. 70% of total iodine occurred as unidentified forms including soluble organic) iodine and insoluble iodine.

Group A β-hemolytic streptococcus (GAS),namely Streptococcus pyogenes,is one of the most im-portant human pathogen.GAS can cause skin and mucous membrane superficial infectious diseases, life -threatening invasive disease, toxin -mediated diseases and immune -related diseases.Antibiotic is an effective mean to control GAS infection. The β-lactam antibiotics remain the first -choice treatment for GAS infection and the macrolides are often recommended as a replacement therapy for β-lactam antibiotics allergic patients or a means to blocking GAS exotoxin product. But with the widespread use of macrolides autibiotics, macrolide -resistant GAS spread in the world. This paper will elaborate the situation of macrolide -resistant clones.

Objective:To investigate the effect of the peritoneal fluid (PF) in women with endometriosis (EM) on the natural killer (NK) cell activity, and to study its relationship with the level of prostaglandins(PGs) and interleukin 6(IL 6). Methods:HeLa cells were taken as target cell, the LDH releasing assay was used to measure NK cell activity after preincubation with PF of EM. The concentration of IL 6, PGE 2 and PGF 2? was measured by radioimmunoassay. Results:After incubated with PF of women with and without EM for 2 h, the inhibition percentages was(65.2?21.8)% and (37.1?18.9)% respectively ( P
