Objective:To present evidence for the pathogenetic role of allergic factor, histamine,in type I allergy for induction of liver damage. Methods:Three groups of rabbits were fed normally and injected (iv) daily with 0, 0.04 or 0.08 ?g/kg phosphohistamine, respectively, for days. The serum level of ALT and AST in each group rabbits was assayed dynamically during the treatment. After treatment for days, the tested rabbits were sacrificed for pathological examination of the liver tissues. Results:The serum level of both ALT and AST in rabbits treated with phosphohistamine increased significantly during the tested periods, compared to that of the control group. However, both ALT and AST levels showed no significant difference between 0.04 ?g/kg and 0.08 ?g/kg groups. Liver microscopic examination, pathological damage could be observed in the tested groups in a time-and dose-dependent manner under microscopic examination. No evident pathological change appeared in the control group. Conclusion:Liver damage could be induced by histamine dosage-and time-dependently. This pathological action of histamine, a type I allergic factor, presents further evidence for a direct role of type I allergy in the pathogenesis hepatic injury.

Asthma is a common chronic respiratory disease characterized by repeated attacks and prolonged illness.Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the formation of Sugen is the core pathogenesis of repeated asthma attacks.By tracing the origin of Sug-en theory, summarizing the connotation of ancient asthma Sugen theory and the innovative understanding of modern medical scholars on asthma Sugen, this paper explores the potential connection between the traditional Chinese medicine Sugen theory and the pathogenesis of modern asthma,in order to provide new ideas and methods for the treatment and research of asthma.

Henoch-Schonlein purpura(HSP)is the most common systemic vasculitis of childhood, and is called"spot toxin","purpura wind",and"grape plague"in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Modern medical research suggests that the disease is related to factors such as an imbalance in cellular and humoral immunity, the abnormal secretion of cytokines, and disturbances to coagulation and fibrinolysis mechanisms, but the exact pathogenesis is still unclear. The incidence of this disease is increasing year by year, and it has a high recurrence rate and a high proportion of kidney damage, which seriously affects the physical and mental health of affected children and poses a great risk to human health.Numerous studies have shown the clinical efficacy of TCM treatment for HSP,but the mechanism of action is not completely clear. In recent years, following the establishment of animal models of HSP,a large number of animal experiments have been carried out to study the efficacy and mechanisms of TCM for HSP,but there is a lack of systematic and detailed reviews. Therefore, animal experimental literature related to the treatment of HSP with TCM in the past decade was reviewed. The effects of TCM in alleviating the abnormal glycosylation of IgA 1,regulating the imbalances in Th1/Th2 and Treg/Th17 immune cells, reducing circulating immune complexes, and inhibiting inflammatory responses were compiled and summarized to provide a reference for further research on TCM for the treatment of HSP and inspire new research ideas.

The main pathogenesis of chronic cough in children is the disorder of ascending and descending of qi movement caused by healthy qi deficiency and pathogenic qi retention. The deficiency of lung, spleen, and kidney is the root of the disease, and the retention of phlegm-fluid, food accumulation, and fire from constraint is the branch pathogenesis of the disease. In the treatment, we should reinforce and tonify healthy qi, dispel pathogen and regulate qi, with Yupingfeng Powder (玉屏风散) as the basic prescription. For lung qi deficiency syndrome, modified Yupingfeng Powder could be used for supplementing lung to consolidate the exterior; for lung and spleen qi deficiency syndrome, modified Yupingfeng Powder plus Shenling Baizhu Powder (参苓白术散) could be used for supplementing lung and fortifying the spleen, treating with both supplementation and transformation; for lung kidney qi deficiency syndrome, modified Yupingfeng Powder combined with Suzi Jiangqi Decoction (苏子降气汤) could be used for supplementing lung and replenishing kidneys, absorbing qi to the root. All the above prescriptions could combine the method of dispelling phlegm, promoting digestion and guiding out food stagnation, soothing the liver and draining fire to remove the solid pathogens, in order to treat the root and branch simultaneously, and the cough will stop if the ascending and descending of qi movement recover as usual.
