Objective:To study the epidemiology of inpatients with fractures and discuss its effect on health education. Methods:Therer were 6290 inpatie nts with fracture investigated retrospectively.FoxPro and SPSS were used for statistical analysis. Results:The mean age of the patients was 41.03±20.05 years. The fraction male to female patients was 2.39:1.The mean hospitalized days were 24.11±22.73 days (±s).A majority(63.5%) of the patients were admitted to the hospital by emerg ency.Fractures in 15 parts accounted for 70% of total fractures in 6 hospital, 7 of which accounted for more than 50% of total fractures in each hospital.Discussion:Health education should be carried out according to risk factors as well as age and gender. The devel opment of the model, which combines prevention,first-aid and rehabilitation,is t he trend of health education for fractures. The basic knowledge of fractures in these 15 parts should be learned by orthopedic nurses.Patient education should be carried out individually. The hospital's situation should also be considered.

BACKGROUND: Pathological changes of the brain tissue in patients with dementia of frontal type(DFT) are still controversial. This paper brought forward the pathological alterative characteristics of brain tissue in DFT patients through one pathological case study of the brain tissue in one dead dementia patient.OBJECTIVE: To validate one uncommon neurodegenerative disease complicated with dementia, DFT.DESIGN: A case analysis.SETTING: Department of Neurology of the First Hospital of Jilin University METHODS: Brain anatomy, serials of histological staining and immunohistochemical staining for PrP, tau protein, etc. were performed after 3 hours since the death of one patient with progressive dementia.stainingfrontal lobes. EEG displayed a paroxysmal high-amplitude slow wave with and the brain atrophy was limited to frontal lobe and the temporal lobe loss of neurocyte companied with significant gliosis since the second layer; However, the pyramidal cell was relatively healthy. No abnormality was munohistochemical staining had negative reactions.CONCLUSION: This case was typical DFT. This type of dementia should be considered in future analysis of the neurodegenerative disease complicated with dementia.

Objective To discuss the application effect of seamless training model of "demonstration unit" on nursing teaching. Methods 210 nursing students from high professional schools from 2006 to 2009 were set as the experimental group, 210 nursing students of the same education background were selected as the control group. The experimental group adopted seamless training model of "demonstration unit", the control group used traditional segmental teaching mode. Teaching effect was compared between the two groups. Results The theoretic test results, operation and technological testing results and satisfaction degree with the teaching in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. Conclusions The seamless training model of "demonstration unit" is approved by the patients, teachers and nursing students and improves the quality of clinical teaching. It should be used widely in clinical nursing education.

Objective: To explore the effect of Laminarina Japonica Polysaccharides (LJPS) on blood glucose in diabetes mice. Methods: Effect of LJPS on alloxan inducing diabetes mellitus model was investigated by applying different doses(125,250 and 500mg/kg bw). Results: The doses of LJPS were able to lower blood glucose level by 34.96%,20.70% and 26.82% respectively. They also decreased BUN level, enhanced liver glycogen, calcium in serum and insulin concentration. LJPS could restore the injury of alloxan induced pancreas islet significantly by histopathological findingConclusion: The results show that LJPS is an active component in protecting against alloxan induced pancreas injury and mediating the blood glucose level.

Objective To study the effect the edaravone on the expressions of ICAM-1,TNF-α after focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion in male rats. Methods 45 male SD rats were selected and randomly assigned into 3 groups:sham operation group(SO),ischemia reperfusion group(I/R),and edaravone treatment group(ED),each group had 15 rats. The expression of ICAM-1,TNF-α were checked by immunohistochemistry. All data in the groups were analyzed with t test. Results The expression of ICAM-1 and TNF-α in the I/R group and ED group were higher than the SO group(t=21.919,27.758,26.576,17.395,32.821,43.021,14.195,31.828,21.201,10.195,25.768,17.900,all P<0.05)at reperfusion 3 hours,6 hours, and 12 hours. The expression of ICAM-1 and TNF-α in the I/R group were higher than the ED group(t=9.623,13.845,7.201,11.313,all P<0.05)at reperfusion 3 hours and 6 hours. Conclusion Edaravone may exert the neuroprotective effect against the cerebral ischemia in rats by decreasing the expression of ICAM-1 and inhibiting the activation of TNF-α.This process could inhibit free radical generation.

Objective To assess the characteristic of left ventricular systolic longitudinal strain(SL) in healthy children and its relationship with age by speckle tracking imaging(STI). Methods One hundred and thirty healthy children were divided into 5 groups: classing 0 to 3 years old children together as group A,and 3 to 5 years old as group B,6 to 9 years old as group C,10 to 12 years old as group D,13 to 18 years old as group E. SL of left ventricular wall during the systole was measured. Results ①The apical SL of left ventricular wall during the systole was larger than the middle one and the basal one. Significant differences were found between apical and basal segments in group A. The apical segments of posterior wall, inferior wall ,lateral wall and ventricular septum presented significant differences with the basal one in group D. Significant difference was found between apical segments of the posterior ventricular septum and the basal one in group E. ②These parameters of the five groups trend to decrease as well as the growth of age . Compared with group D and E,SL of left ventricular wall during the systole were significantly increased in group A except anterior wall, and SL of left ventricular wall during the systole were significantly increased in group B except apical segments of the posterior wall and apical segments of the anterior ventricular septum. ③The intra-observer and inter-observer variabilities were 2.0% and 2.5% for SL measured by STI in two chamber view,1.9% and 2.3% SL in three chamber view, and 2.1% and 2. 8% in four chamber view. Conclusions The parameters of strain were not similar in left ventricular different walls and segments, and there is some relationship between SL and increasing-age.

Objective To analyze the left ventricular(LV) rotation and twist by two-dimensional ultrasound speckle-tracking imaging(STI),and evaluate the correlation between twist and other components of LV contraction in uremia patients. Methods Twenty-nine uremia patients and twenty-nine healthy volunteers were included. High frame rate two-dimensional images were recorded from the left ventricular short-axis views both of the basal and apical planes. Segmental and global LV rotation were recorded at both The peak systolic LV twist was significantly decreased in uremia patients(P <0. 001). The loss of LV twist occurred mainly by the impairment of maximal global counterclockwise apical rotation(P <0. 001),and was augmented by somewhat less reduction in global clockwise basal rotation although the differences was not significantly reduced(P<0.01), while only the posterior and inferior of the basal plane was significantly fraction(r=0.645,P=0.000), LV end-diastolic volume (r=-0.549,P=0.002), LV end-systolic volume(r=-0.673, P = 0.000) in uremia patients. Conclusions STI enables quantification of segmental and global LV rotation in an objective manner in uremia patients, and provides a new method for evaluation of segmental and global LV systolic function.
