This study was aimed to observe the antibacterial activity and bactericidal action ofC.albicans in vitro, and the effects of curing monilial vaginitis mouse by extraction of globeflower residue fermentation (EGRF) in vivo.In vitrostudy, test tube method as well as plate method were used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) ofC.albicansrespectively.In vivo, mouse were devided into normal controlled group,C. albicans vaginitis model group (Model), Model + EGRF (40, 80, 160 mg?kg-1) group, and fluconazole group (20 mg?kg-1). All drugs were vaginal delivery once a day with continuous administration for seven days. Then vulva inflammation, negative rate of vaginal discharge, microbial load of vaginal lavage and the pathological changes of vaginal mucosa were observed. After the treatment of EGRF, the MIC and MBC of Candida albicans were 0.31 mg?mL-1 and 1.25 mg?mL-1, respectively, while the potency unit ratios between EGRF and fluconazole of MIC and MBC were 2 to 1 and 1 to 1, respectively. In comparison with Model, vulva inflammation of Model + EGRF gourp and fluconazole group was improved, whileC. albicanscount in vaginal secretions of these two groups were decreased, the overcast rate ofC. albicansof vaginal douche was increased, and pathological changes of vaginal mucosa were also improved in the two groups, which were in dose-dependent manners. And high dose Model + EGRF group was close to fluconazole group. In conclusion, EGRF had obvious inhibitory effect onC. albicans in vitro. It also had a better therapeutic effect onC. albicans vaginitis mouse.

Objective Three parameters include circumferential strain (CS),circumferential strain rate (CSr) and stiffness parameter (β) were measured to evaluate the elasticity of carotid artery using two-dimensional(2D) strain imaging and evaluate its clinical value in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods 60 patients with T2DM were collected and divided into carotid intima-midia thickness (CIMT) thickeness group(34 cases,1.0 mm<CIMT≤1.2 mm) and plaque group(26 case,CIMT> 1.2 mm).33 normal people were supplied as control group. The systolic global peak CS and CSr of the carotid artery were obtained from short-axis view of the common carotid artery and the stiffness parameters β was measured using 2D strain imaging. All the parameters were compared among the three groups. Results The CS and CSr were decreased and β was increased in patients with T2DM (P < 0.01),The CS and CSr obtained from the plaque group were less than that of the CIMT thickeness group(P <0.05),but the β was higher than that of the CIMT thickeness group (P <0.01).The CS and β were correlated significantly with CIMT respectively (r =-0.79,P < 0.01 ; r =0.72,P < 0.01).Conclusions 2D strain imaging is a technique for early assessing the carotid artery elasticity in patients with T2DM,the thicker the CIMT is,the smaller the deformation is and the larger the β is.

A 19-year-old female presented with a dark erythematous maculopapule measuring 2 cm in diameter on the left lower limb for more than one year.Physical examination revealed an enlarged cherry-like lymph node in the right inguinal region.Histopathology of the lesion revealed that the normal structure of skin disappeared absolutely, and there was a diffuse infiltrate of medium-sized lymphoid tumor cells with unclear nucleoli.Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells strongly expressed CD4,CD56 and CD123,and partially expressed terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT).Flow cytometric analysis of bone marrow aspirates showed that abnormal cells amounted to 59.9%,and were positive for CD123st (strong),human leucocyte antigen-DRst (strong),CD56,CD304 (blood dendritic cell antigen-4),CD7,CD11b,CD33,CD36 and chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 4,CD13 (dim),CD4 (partial) and CD117 (partial).Transmission electron microscopy of bone marrow cells revealed that there were massive uniformly sized lymphoid cells with thick processes on cell surfaces,a high nucleus/cytoplasm ratio, centrally located round nuclei occasionally with deep gyrus-like notches, clumped marginated heterochromatin and multiple nucleoli. Moreover,a small amount of cytoplasm was observed in the lymphoid cells with the presence of mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum arranged in concentric circles, which were characteristic of plasma cells. The features of both dendritic cells and plasma cells were found in the tumor cells through transmission electron microscopy.Based on the above findings,a diagnosis of blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) was made.

Purpose To quantitatively evaluate longitudinal strain and strain rate (SR) of left ventricular (LV) in normal infants and young children using velocity vector imaging (VVI). Materials and Methods A total of 50 normal infants and young children were enrolled in the study. The longitudinal strain peaks and SR peaks in three sections of LV walls during systole period and relaxation period were measured by VVI from apical four-chamber view, apical two-chamber view and long axis view, respectively. Results Forty-one cases (82%) presented a smooth strain curve without incisures and a double peak in SR curve (systolic peak and single diastole peak). The strain in anterior septum and posterior septum, the systolic SRs and diastolic SRs decreased from basal to apical segments. However, only the strain in basal segment and that in apical segment in anterior septum showed statistic difference (t=1.79, P<0.05);the systolic SRs of the same level in different walls and those in the same wall at different levels had no statistic difference (P>0.05). Conclusion Most normal infants and young children present a smooth diastolic strain curve and a double peak SR curve of LV, which can provide clinical guidance in the early diagnosis of myocardial abnormality for infants and young children.
