Objective To analyze the genotypic characteristics of T. violaceum, and offer evidence for molecular epidemiological study of causative agents of pediatric tinea capitis, in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Methods The PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphisim (RFLP) of the nontranscribed spacer region of ribosomal DNA (rDNA-NTS) was assessed by using 5 restriction enzymes, including HaeⅢ, Bgl Ⅰ,MspⅠ, DdeⅠ and MboⅠ, for 30 clinical isolates of T. violaceum from children with tinea capitis in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Nine strains of T. violaceum from Beijing and 2 strains from Taiwan served as the control. Results All the 41 strains of T. violaceum were classified into 12 genotypes with the restriction enzyme Ddel.Ten genotypes were revealed in the 30 strains from Xinjiang; among them, 17 strains showed 7 different genotypes (D, F, G, H, I, J and K) with a high intraspecies diversity in comparison with the Beijing and Taiwan isolates; the remaining 13 strains from Xinjiang showed 3 genotypes, which were shared by the Beijing and Taiwan isolates. Conclusions The T. violaceum isolates from children with tinea capitis in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have unique genotypes, but also show genetic homogeneity with the strains from Beijing and Taiwan, hinting the genetic diversity of T. violaceum.

Clinical Medicine of China 2009;25(10):1055-1057
Objective To observe the effects of irbesartan and amlodipine on insulin sensitivity in obese hypertensive patients. Methods 157 moderate hypertensive patients were divided into two greups, which received irbesartan or amlodipine for 16 weeks. The changes of blood pressure, heart rate and weight were observed. Insulin re-sistance was computed using the homeostasis model assessment (HOMA-IR). Results There was no difference in antihypertensive efficacy between the two groups(P>0.05). After 16 weeks of treatment ,the insulin resistance index decreased by 8.7±2.4 vs 6.1±2.6 (P<0.01) and body mass index decreased(28.1±3.8) kg/m2 vs (27.2± 3.2 ) kg/m2 (P<0.05 ) and mean heart rate raised by (73.1 ±10.0 ) kg/m2 vs ( 79.1±11.4) kg/m2 ( P < 0.01 ) in irbesartan group while no such changes were found in amlodipine treated group. Conclusions In obese hypertensive patients, irbsartan and amlodipine exert similar antihypertensive effect, but irbesartan may help to improve some obe-sity-related metabolize disorder,so the obese hypertensive patients may benefit more from irbsartan than from amlo-dipine.

The effects of adsorption time, solid-liquid ratio, sample concentration, flow rate on the adsorption properties of supported ionic liquids(the N-methylimidazolium functionalized silica, SilprMin) for flavonoids were investigated. The results indicated that the adsorption equilibrium for tested compounds, genistein, luteolin and quercetin, was achieved within 30 min, the adsorption efficiencies of these three compounds were improved with the increase of solid-liquid ratio, and decreased with the increase of their concentrations. Moreover, the adsorption isotherm data of the three tested compounds were in good concordance with the Langmuir model. The saturated adsorption capacity of SilprMim for genistein, luteolin and quercetin was 47.7, 52.5 and 63.2 mg/g, respectively. Adsorption efficiency of SilprMim could reach more than 90% at a sample flow rate of 0.5~1.5 mL/min. Using methanol as eluent, the saturated desorption efficiencies of genistein, luteolin and quercetin were 86.1%, 83.3% and 84.6%, respectively. The elution order of the three tested flavonoids was genistein, luteolin and quercetin. SilprMim had strong adsorption and separation capacity for three tested flavonoids, which was hopeful to be applied in separation and purification of naturally occurring flavonoids.
