The objective of this study is to evaluate the relative bioavailabilities (RBA) of iron in Soybean meal and egg yolk powder by means of the rat hemoglobin repletion method, and to analyse their iron contents by the atomic absorption spectrometric determination.The iron content of soybean meal is 159.78 ppm, RBA is 67.24%; the iron content of egg yolk powder is 128.65ppm, RBA is 70.90%. This means that both soybean and egg yolk are of high iron contents, and their RBAs are not too inferior, indicating that the absolute amounts of available iron are still high. So both of them should be considered a rather good source of dietary iron.Using the total iron consumption and the final total hemoglobin of each animal during the hemoglobin repletion period as a dose-response index to calculate the RBA is thought to be reasonable.

Objective With fat-soluble ingredients and water-soluble components as indicators,to investigate the processing technology of wine Gansu Salvia by orthogonal test.Method With fat-soluble ingredients and water-soluble components determined by HPLC,the processing technology of wine Gansu Salvia was optimized by orthogonal test.Result The transfer rate of fat-soluble ingredients with water extraction was 2.4%,with little significance,while it had a significant impact on salvianolic acid B.The best process condition was 10% yellow rice wine,added 20% wine,fried in 80 ℃ for 4 min.Conclusion It was reasonable to choose the best process condition for wine Gansu Salvia.

Objective To understand the effects of stove-improvement measures in coal-burning-induced fluoride poisoning area in Luoyang.Methods Dynamic monitoring on the fluoride concentration in indoor air,grain(corn and wheat),vegetable(chili,radish and Chinese cabbage),and the urine fluoride concentration and prevalence of dental fluorosis among8-12year old children was conducted after the performance of stove-improvement measures in coal-burning-induced fluoride poisoning area,Jiangzhuang village,Xinan county,Luoyang,during1991-2000,while the obtained data were compared with those in1990.Re sults After the performance of stove-improvement measures,all of the fluoride contents in indoor air,grain and veg-etable,the urine fluoride concentration and the prevalence of dental fluorosis of8-12aged children revealed a trend of decrease on the whole,and accorded with the corresponding standards for non-fluoride poinsoning area,despite of the fluctuating data in different years.Conclu sion The stove-improvement measures could effectively prevent the indoor air,grain and vegetable from fluoride pollution,and control the prevalence of fluoride poisoning in coal-burning-induced fluoride poisoning area.

Objective To observe the efficacy and adverse reaction of NP and GX regimens in the treatment of the anthracycline-and-taxane-resistant advanced breast cancer.Methods Totally 75 patients with advanced breast cancer were divided into two groups,and received NP or GX regimen.NP group (n =40):NVB 25 mg/m2,day 1,day 8,iv.drip; DDP 25 mg/m2,day 1-3,iv.drip.GX group (n =35):GEM 1000 mg/m2 day 1,day 8,iv.drip; XEL 2500 mg/m2,day 1-14,bid po.Every 21 days was a cycle.The efficacy and adverse reaction were evaluated after two cycles.Results The overall response rates in the NP and GX group were 42.5 ％ (17/40) and 40.0 ％ (14/35).The median TTP of two group were 7 and 6.5 months.The MST was 15.8 and 15.0 months in the NP and GX group.The 1-and 2-year survival rates were 60.0 ％,32.5 ％ and 57.1％,31.4 ％.The increase ratio of Karnofsky were 50.0 ％ and 42.9 ％.There were not significant difference between the two groups in terms of their treatment response (P ＞ 0.05).The main adverse reactions in the two group were myelosuppression,gastrointestinal reaction and phlebitis.Hand-foot syndrome in GX was significantly higher than that in NP group,Gastrointestinal reactions in NP was significantly higher than that in GX group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion NP and GX regimens are effective for patients with metastatic breast cancer,their adverse reactions are tolerable,so they can be regarded as a ltermate regimens for anthracyclines and taxanes resistant patients with metastatic breast cancer.

Objective To investigate the protective effects of endotoxin precondition on hepatic tissue in rats with endotoxemia.Method The models of rats with acute endotoxemia were produced by injecting LPS directly.Seventy-two male wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups:saline control group(N,n=24),lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated group(L,n=24),LPS pretreated group(P,n=24).Each group was divid-ed into four subgroups:saline control and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated 2 h,4 h,6 h,12 h groups and LPS-pretreated 2 h,4 h,6 h,12 h groups.Rats in group P were first administered with introperitoneal injection of 0.25 mg/kg LPS,and after 24 hours,the rats were injected with 0.5 mg/kg LPS.Rats in group N and group L received with an equivalent amount of saline.After 72 hours,rats in group L and group P were intravenonsly injected with 10 mg/kg LPS,and rats in group N received with an equivalent amount of saline.Six rats were killed at 2,4,6 and 12 hours after injection of LPS in group L and P.The hvers were removed for detecting Toll like receptor-4 (TLR-4),nuclear factor-кB(NF-кB),tumor Necrosis Factor-apha(TNF-α)and malondialdehyde(MDA).The blood was drawn for detecting Alamine aminotmnsferose (ALT) and Aspartate aminotransferose (AST).The patho-logical changes of liver were also examined.Software SPSS13.0 was utilized to do ANOVA for statistical analysis.Results The rats exposed to LPS alone demonstrated an increase in TLR-4.NF-кB and TNF-α activity of the liver tissue.Incontrast.the rats exporsed 10 LPS prelreatment exhibited a significant decrease in TLT-4,NF-кB and TNF-α activity.The contents of TLR-4,NF-кB and TNF-α of LPS-treated 4 h groupwere,(38.76±0.67),170.82 ±31.40),293.16±49.49)and(6.263±0.351),significantly higher than those of the saline control group.The administration of endotoxin pretreatment reduced the indexes to(22.35±1.35),(135.55±26.44)and(234.23±44.96),respectively(P＜0.05).Conclusions TLR-4,NF-кB and TNF-α take part in the progress of hepatic injury in rats with endotoxemia.Endotoxin pretreatment can eliminate hepatic injury and protect the hepatic tissue by downmgulating the levels of TLR-4.NF-кB and TNF-α.

Objective To study the changes of acetyl-histone H2B in the cochlear hair cells of the guinea pig model of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL).Methods Sixty guinea pigs were randomly divided into control and noise-exposure group.Thirty guinea pigs in the noise-exposure group were exposed to narrowband noise at 122 dB SPL for 3 hours , while thirty guinea pigs in the control group were not exposed to noise.Auditory thresholds were assessed by auditory brainstem response (ABR), prior to noise in two groups and 3, 7,14 and 21 days after noise exposure in the noise group.Then we investigated the expression of acetyl-histone H2B levels in the sensory cells of basilar membrane after noise expose by immunofluorescence staining and western blot.Results Compared with pre-exposure hearing, ABR thresholds were increased at 1h, 3, 7, 14 and 21 days after noise exposure, and recovered gradually with time and reached a permanent threshold shift at 14 days.The expression of acetyl-histone H2B was down-regulated in the hair cells and Hensen''s cells of the guinea pig cochlea after the noise expose , The ratio of H2B-AcK5 / β-actin was 0.6179±0.1260 in the control group and 0.3102±0.0839 in the noise group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion Noise decreased the inner ear sensory cells histone acetylation level and histone acetylation imbalance may be involved in the occurrence of NIHL.

Objective:To establish a method to determine the content of chlorogenic acid and rutin in nettle to assess the quality of nettle.Methods:An HPLC method was used with the following chromatographic conditions:CAPCELL PAK C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) was used with the mixture of 0.4%phosphoric acid and methanol as the mobile phase with gradient elution , the de-tection wavelength was set at 340 nm, the flow rate was 1.0 ml· min-1 and the sample size was 10μl.Results:Chlorogenic acid with-in the range of 2.360-23.600μg · ml-1 showed a good linear relationship (r=0.999 9), and rutin within the range of 6.208-62.080μg · ml-1 showed a good linear relationship (r=0.999 9).The recovery of rutin and chlorogenic acid was 99.20% and 100.40%with RSD of 1.2%and 1.1%(n=6), respectively.Conclusion:The method is fast, effective, simple, accurate and reproducible , which can be used to quantitatively analyze chlorogenic acid and rutin in nettle .

China-made 5-axis simultaneous contouring CNC machine tool and domestically developed industrial computer-aided manufacture (CAM) technology were used for full crown fabrication and measurement of crown accuracy, with an attempt to establish an open CAM system for dental processing and to promote the introduction of domestic dental computer-aided design (CAD)/CAM system. Commercially available scanning equipment was used to make a basic digital tooth model after preparation of crown, and CAD software that comes with the scanning device was employed to design the crown by using domestic industrial CAM software to process the crown data in order to generate a solid model for machining purpose, and then China-made 5-axis simultaneous contouring CNC machine tool was used to complete machining of the whole crown and the internal accuracy of the crown internal was measured by using 3D-MicroCT. The results showed that China-made 5-axis simultaneous contouring CNC machine tool in combination with domestic industrial CAM technology can be used for crown making and the crown was well positioned in die. The internal accuracy was successfully measured by using 3D-MicroCT. It is concluded that an open CAM system for dentistry on the basis of China-made 5-axis simultaneous contouring CNC machine tool and domestic industrial CAM software has been established, and development of the system will promote the introduction of domestically-produced dental CAD/CAM system.

Objective To analyze the clinical features and the effect of therapy on cutaneous emphysema of chest wall and/or pneumomediastinum complicated in severe acute triphosgene poisoning patients.Methods Among 81 triphosgene poisoning patients,5 complicated with cutaneousemphysema of chest wall and/or pneumomediastinum were analyzed in respect of the clinical data including age,gender,arterial blood gas (ABG),modes of mechanical ventilation support and so on.Results Five patients consisting of 3 males and 2 females,aged (23.20 ± 5.17) years,were complicated with cutaneous emphysema of chest wall and/or pneumomediastium with a prevalence rate of 0.06％.Of them,4 were alleviated completely and 1 died of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).There was no significant difference in arterial blood gas analysis (ABG) between patients with cutaneousemphysema and/or pneumomediastinum and patients without ( P ＞ 0.05 ).Conclusions Triphosgene-induced acute lung injury treated with mechanical ventilation support with high PEEP is highly suggested as high risk factor for the formation of cutaneous emphysema of chest wall and/or pneumomediastinum in severe acute Triphosgene poisoning patients.It is very important to set the PEEP level of mechanical ventilation support as low as possible for avoidance of alveolar rupture.
