Objective To determine the content of indirubin in Kangbingan Oral Liquid by UV spectrophotometer methods. Methods The content of indirubin was determined by Heltos Gamma ultravioletvisible spectrophotometer with chloroformic solution of 2~8 ?g/mL confected by standard sample of indigotin and indirubin. The sample of negative blank solution was confected by the prescription without Radix Isatidis. The standard sample and the blank sample were determined separately with the wavelength at 500~700 nm.Results Indirubin had the maximum absorption at wavelength of 540.0 nm and indigotin had the maximum absorption at wavelength of 634.5 nm.The linear correlation was available at the range of 0.20~1.40 ?g/mL,and the correct coefficient was 0.999 4.The average recovery rate was 99.05% and RSD was 0.87%(n=6).Conclusion This method is simple and accurate, and can be used to control the quality of Kangbingan Oral Liquid.

PurposeTo explore the value of gemstone spectral imaging (GSI) in diagnosis of thyroid nodule hemorrhage.Materials and Methods Seventeen patients with surgery and pathology confirmed thyroid nodule hemorrhage underwent thyroid spectrum CT scan. The CT value, iodine concentration value, water concentration value and the effective atomic ordinal value as well as spectral curve slope of hemorrhagic nodules and surrounding normal thyroid tissue were measured respectively. Results Hemorrhagic thyroid nodules showed equal or high CT value, low concentration of iodine, high concentration of water, low spectral curve slope, and low effective atomic ordinal value on spectral CT imaging. There were statistically significant differences in concentration of iodine value, concentration of water value, and spectral curve slope between hemorrhagic nodules and surrounding normal thyroid tissue (Z=-5.438,-4.679 and-5.317,P<0.01), and there were statistically significant differences in CT value and effective atomic ordinal value (Z=-2.097 and-2.230,P<0.05).Conclusion Energy spectrum CT scan is important in detection and accurate diagnosis of thyroid nodule hemorrhage.

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of bladder saline perfusion before catheter removal in TURP patients. Methods From 2009 to 2011,140 patients received TURP were enrolled in this study.Patients were divided into perfusion group (70 cases with bladder saline perfusion before catheter removal) and control group (70 cases without perfusion). Results Comparing with the control group (33.1 ± 5.4) min,the time waiting for urination was shorter in perfusion group ( 3.7 ± 0.2 ) min ( P <0.05 ).The recovering time to normal urination was shorter in perfusion group (7.7 ± 1.2 ) d than in control group (11.7 ± 1.3) d (P < 0.05 ) as well.In the first urine after catheter removal and first urine on the next day morning, white blood cell count of 2 groups (4.5 ± 0.1 ) vs ( 6.9 ± 3.5 ) ; ( 3.7 ± 0.2 ) vs (4.3 ±0.5) had significant differences ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion Bladder saline perfusion before catheter removal in TURP patients is simple and effective for the restoration of normal voiding.

Diabetes retinopathy (DR) is an important cause that threatens the visual health of adults. There are some treatment methods of western medicine with definite efficacy, such as anti-vascular endothelial growth factor and laser photocoagulation, but they have many adverse reactions such as intraocular infection and visual field damage. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapies are safe and effective, which can complement western medicine. Phosphatidylinositol3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) signaling pathway regulates a range of processes including glucose metabolism, cell proliferation, and cell transcription and apoptosis, which is closely related to the occurrence and development of DR. Numerous studies have shown that TCM monomers can participate in maintaining the integrity of blood-retinal barrier and inhibiting retinal neovascularization and neurodegeneration in many aspects such as inhibiting oxidative stress and alleviating inflammatory reaction by regulating the PI3K/Akt pathway, so as to delay the progress of DR. Therefore, this study reviewed PI3K/Akt pathway and its relationship with DR, as well as the TCM monomers in interfering with DR based on PI3K/Akt pathway to provide some ideas for the prevention and treatment of DR in integrated TCM and western medicine.
